This. If you use another class and don't lead, you'd never get a party. One of the reasons to hate level 4 skills.

Only thing fun to play during event bosses are tanks(Finale/CF playstyle is boring) unless you're one of those MTL tanks with so much AMPR. Boring as heck to play too, you just spam P. Def and Buff combo(if there are multiple opponents).

That's why I deleted my tank and made a DPS tank one. Not as good at tanking(or interrupting) but can dish out decent damage.

 

That is, if the party members don't complain about your class, but there will always be people who will complain. The game balance was kinda bad before lv4 skills, but it got much worse after lv4 release. Nowadays most people just play CF bow/Finale mage/Tenryu ktn and their builds are basically the same because almost nobody bothers to build differently, because most people will not accept them. Perhaps because of this the newbies don't last long and quit early.
At this point I won't bother to make builds, I have no empty char slots (only have 5 to begin with), not even farm, because I've lost interest in Toram. Now I'll only play Toram for the story which I'm still interested in (also why didn't they release a new MQ on late Aug??). Asobimo can still rebalance the skills, though then people will complain endlessly.

 

Haven't seen anyone complaining, they just leave when the party is bad. Some of the players(CF, Tank, Finale) are actually new/bad at Titeres too so they don't complain(which makes for a very bad party that disbands after 2 runs). Some are too good that they don't care if there is 1 leecher in the party.

Tanks are the most flexible to build without anyone complaining(at least not openly) due to the scarcity of the class though it's now gaining popularity due to the recent High Difficulty Bosses.

The last time I farmed harder bosses there are tanks who are bad at being tanks, such as destroying proration.
Also I met this guy who says that Aegis lowers Fractional resistance lol (how do I post ss here I'm using phone)

 

Tanks can be flexible but the way bossss are now, its pretty much the same style(soak up damage and survive for dps to kill)
This is why I praise York fight and enjoy it so much
Tanks actually have a good purpose other than to be meatshields
Timing and managing interrupts to cancel horrifying aoes

Indeed tanks are a rare breed. Oddly enuf when i called for a 0aggro dps members, i actually found members! They even gawk at my pet that can tank odelons all day(well at least until it gets tired, lol). They never complain, coz i always remind them "watch your aggro guys, the pet can only do so much." I even have a katana user that liked my pets, performance since it gives him free room to execute zantei freely.

 

It is indeed nice to have tanking pets. Now even if tanks are a rare breed, we can breed our own! Gotta love the pet system! I'm still suprised people don't take advantage of having a cute pet battle with you until they bleed out from exhaustion.

I wish we could do dungeon challenges with pets, so they can kill all thats there as I sit back in safety.

 

Yah, im working(ehem..) RE- working my farm char now that i got finale(i almost cried when i can finally solo kill boss roga, it was amazing!) The candy staff is a godsend for me(tho i change app as libra since i prefer a spinning book over a spinning candy apple when casting finale) i can even kill ulti warmonger(opened by a boubtful partymate over my pet lol!) While my 40int farm mage is still level 50!(MQ at low level is a chore to finish). I have learned how to properly move my pets so it can lure mini bosses to a safe killing area for the party. (Yah a pet owner that actually know what he is doing and not just letting the pet do it's thing!) So far, i havent bought eb for a long time since level 5 mini heal seems enuf if i survive a rouge aoe during long combos.

 

How much did it cost for the pet total? I'm curious and possibly interested

 

One of the downsides of it suddenly gaining popularity. I have partied with tanks who keeps losing Aggro even though you're using sneak, tanks who runs straight at you when you're casting, smug "Exp" tanks that only knows about soaking damage(Positioning? What's that? You don't wanna fall, then don't stand behind me.), tanks who don't know how to compress mobs so they all die in 1 Finale.

Legacy skill(Magic Lance lvl10)-took me 5 weeks storm grining at skeletons. Since i got it at level 5 by luck. This is the most taxing part since there is no other way around it but pure grind.
It took me 10 fusions to reach my current level(meaning i grind each of my pets to level cap) whose it takes 3-4 weeks depending on your capability to kill mini bosses( now that i have CF and finale i can prolly do this at 2 weeks solid grinding time each fodder pet)

Take note that i have done this solo. Since nobody wants to party with me and my leeching pet at the time. If you have friends to help you this can be done waay sooner than projected estimate above.

Do they don't have to use it in order for it to gain Exp? I got mine at level 1, now it's level 7 but leveling it is so freaking slow now. I don't know if I should just re-roll or keep going with this.

What is legacy skill?

 

I mean "play for fun" like everyone is saying.

 

Skill you passed down(inherit) from pet to pet. Because those skills don't gain anymore Exp when inherited, you must Max this from the 1st generation.

 

I abused a bug back then that attack skill on gentle pets level up like passive skills during storm grind.(hey! It wassnt declared by the time i used it so dont judge me!)dunno if it still that way, probably it be the last lance that i can grind. If ever i make another legacy skill it be an aoe one.

The one level 10 skill that you decide your main pet will inherit during fusion. Remember, you can only take just 1 from both pets being fused, so make it count!
