Noob help

Can anyone give me a basic cheap build for a tank? Im trying to level to 150 to unlock the big damage skills and based on the things that I've read, it seems like being a tank is the best way to do so.

MTL 255 rest vit. Weapon: get either Toy Hammer or Drills. Armor: NPC crafted Holy Robe or Lil Emp Garb. Shield: Dark General Shield (not sure if it has to be NPC crafted or drop). Add gear: White Eyepatch. Ring: Magician's Ring. All of these are good enough without slots. Refine shield and armor to at least +E? And get 5% more ailment resist from avatars.
Important skills: Protection, Aegis, Guardian, Perfect Defense, Shield Bash (stun), Hard Hit/Smash (flinch).
Other good skills: Recovery (remove an ailment), War Cry (remove fear, boost atk for all pt members).

A bit info bump, Heaven Feather Garb is a really good armor for tanks. You might want to try getting it.

Anyway, it seems that I won't make a tank anytime soon, so I might get outdated on tank related stuff..

 

If and WHEN they decide to make mobs bypass resistances then this will become a nice tank item. Until then I can't see any reason to have it. Maybe it's good for a 2h tank but this garb's last stat reflects the problems we have in this full dps pt meta lol

 

JerryRST covered a lot already however there are a few things u have to be aware of: some skills Like pdef only get unlocked starting from lvl125 and for equip-arm you need to reach at least York within the Story. If you are not that far yet then go for Brigandine from Scrader. The npc drop is better but for temporary means the Boss drop should do as well
