Projekt: alt_Kure (1,000 PR Special) [Part1/2]

This is to celebrate my milestone of reaching 1,000 Positive Ratings. This story is based off my true OC/mascot for my true IGN, 'DeQuantum.' Without further ado, let's step into a dystopian world of disease, industrialization, and if course... Machine.

"The numbers of infected are rising off the charts," Doctor Willow said as he displayed a projected statistic chart upon the wall. The room was dimmed of light as nearly a dozen men and women paid close attention to the doctor. "Since the Contamination Incident in 2019, nearly a decade ago, the contagion has breached 93.2 million lives living on this world of Mars. That's nearly 40% of the population infected from the contaminated smoke given from the plantations that dot the landscapes of Mars."

Voices muttered to one another through the dimmed light, some concerned, some angered. One of them, a bald man who looked to be in his late forties, spoke up with a loud enough voice to be heard by anyone. "This is information we already are well-aware of. Would you mind explaining to me why you have gathered us all together and what you're attempting to get to?" The doctor chuckled for a moment before he replied, fixing his glasses back up to his eyes with a sly smile on his face. "I can understand that patience is at a low these recent weeks, but very well. I shall get straight to the point." The doctor pressed a button on the remote he held and the chart skipped over to a black and white picture of a machine. A robot as it would seem. Some of the attendees in the room all leaned in to get a closer look at the picture, but the slide then skipped to another black and white slide, this time, a video. Mechanical arms worked on the machine as scientists surrounded it, jotting down notes on their clipboards. The scene then changed to a man sitting at a computer, which displayed a river of coded algorithms. While this slide played, the doctor broke the silence that remained adrift in the room.

"What you see on this slide, is the solution to the infected. Due to the failure of all attempted vaccination tests, we have resorted to another plan: Extermination. What I present to you is an work-in-progress prototype AI, programmed to exterminate those infected with the disease." The same man who had spoke earlier stood from his chair and slammed his hands in the table. "Have you gone mad!? Exterminating the infected could possibly lead to God knows what! Not only that, manufacture of this machine would cost a great some of money and the economy as of now is in no stable condition!" Another man joined him, a young chap with blue eyes and brown hair sleeker back. "Agreed. Plus how would we know that this creation of yours would be efficient? I'm also worried by the fact it's an AI you're creating, one with a body. What are we supposed to do if it goes haywire and begins killing people not infected or us as a matter of fact? Anything could go wrong with this plan and you should've bought this to the boards attention before you had started the production cycle of this thing."

Doctor Willow kept his composure and sly smile as the entire room burst into argument. He awaited for several moments before he interrupted the heat of words. "I can assure you all, this machine will be beyond efficient. If you'd so kindly follow me please..."
