Questions for players who have pets

Hi,
Can I level up my support character by using my dps pet to attack? Can a pet beat Venena alone or normal mode bosses? And lastly, can my aura based support skills affect pets too? Thanks in advanced.

 

Yes you can lvl up your support character using pet, but that depends on how strong your pet is.

I doubt a pet can solo venena alone, with you supporting it tho it probably could but will take alot of time and you have to keep venena's laser move away from it.

Not sure if the buffs affect the pet but I'm think it would.

 

Dont mind the doggie being stuck in weird places. Aura skill works that is a fact(dunno bout priest skills tho) what the party kills is accounted as your kill also, even if you get ko-ed(based on bot leeching experiment waaaaay back in the nc tombs) that also include your pet. Altho if your pet get ko-ed it does not reciev any experience(thus, it is easier for a tank pet to level up than others imo).
The very least i always drop finale as my main and only dps. My pet holds aggro and tanks for me. I always have pet heal in my main attack combo to spam it while i spam finale. Boss aoe is a big pain in the butt tho.

Btw, i use my pet to solo grind my alch hybrid. Only problem is, stargems is really needed since you focus most of sp in production class and only got finale and maximizer in hand to use until it is done(well, that is my game strat is for me)

About pet healing, Can I use Heal on pet and revive my pet when it dies also?

 

No. You have to kill the target first and be out of battle mode before u can use the revive pet(by tapping the floating "+"). There is also cases that me and my pet died and my tank merc held the boss monster long enuf to give me time to revive my pet. If you simply cast pet heal while it is in "ko-ed" state, the skill will just be inactive very much like using shield bash w/out shield equipped.

 

auras and all other party support skills work on pets, too. they just don't work on mercenaries.
when the pet is defeated, heal skills cannot be used. first aid is unavailable in battle, but the revive time is only 150s instead of the usual 300.

 

Question: What happens in a party where the players pet does the most damage? Is it reflected on the ranks?

 

Pet damage counts toward it's owner's damage

In my experience, only aura skills(support skill tree) work on pets, and bless(priest skill tree) only work on merc
