The 1h Evasion guide

First off. This guide will give the best equipment currently available (9/27/15).
The skills will be listed in order of how you should get them and put points into them when.
Further, you must have a lvl 35 character to have certain skill trees already unlocked. But while I will list them as if you had unlocked these. A new player can still use this guide to see what they will need in the future.

Best equip:
Relic sword (a Bd sword is good to keep on backup)
Mirror shield
Dawn hat (boss version only)
Bd crown
Aqua Garb
Mage ring (optional. Good for farming. Not for bosses usually)

Skill trees to buy before you lvl at all:
Blade lvl1
Magic lvl1
Guard lvl1
Survival lvl2
Shield lvl2
(if you have the spina get this too)
Knight lvl2

First points:
Magic charge lvl1>hard hit lvl5>astute lvl5

Then:
Safe rest lvl5>hp Boost lvl10

Followed by:
Shield mastery lvl5>force shield lvl5>protect lvl1

Then:
Light armor mastery lvl5>sword mastery lvl5>Quick slash lvl5

Now:
Shield mastery lvl10>Quick slash lvl10

From here it becomes more optional. Depending on how you play (do you tank or more dps? Do you want to go more for a supporting role or more of a solo player?) really opens up your possibilities. But I will focus on what I use and prefer.
You can mix and match these but go to the lvl listed below:
Force Shield lvl10
Light armor mastery lvl10
Sword mastery lvl10
Astute lvl10
Sword mastery lvl10
Sword techniques lvl10
Quick rest lvl5
Sober analysis lvl10
MP Boost lvl10

Other optional skills from other trees:
Knight tree: Parry lvl10
Priest tree: Gloria lvl10
Battle tree: Evasion up lvl10

Sidenote: the battle tree skills generally increase power as you lvl up. The values are based off character lvl. The higher your lvl; the more you gain for each point put into each skill.

Now for stat points:
Eva dps
Full dex to lvl40. Next, 1dex/1crit until 30 crit. Then, full dex until 200 dex. Finally, 1 crit/1 agi.

Eva tank
3 dex/1 agi until lvl40.
From lvl40 on; 3 dex/1 crit/1 agi/1 vit.
Once dex is at 200, 2 crit/1 agi/1 vit.

High dps Eva
Full dex to lvl40. Next, 1dex/1crit until 30 crit. Then, dex to 200. Finally, 1 crit/1 agi/2 str.

 

Evasion xtals are better than dodge xtals if your flee stat is low.

The Dodge Up battle skill (which was originally named "Eva Up") was changed shortly after this original OP because devs follow me (apparently) for debugging.

Dodge Up has two effects:

1. (lvl÷40)×Rank = F : +F% to Base Flee
2. ((lvl÷40)÷2)×Rank = E : +E to Base Eva

Spoiler: Example

This means that a lvl40 character with Dodge Up 10 and 1,000 flee (before equips or xtals stats) and 20% Eva (wearing light armor but before equips or xtals stats)
would get:

• 1,100 Flee
  • (1000+10% Flee)
• 25% Eva
  • (20%+5 Eva)

And same char at lvl200:

• 1,500 Flee
  • (1000+50% Flee)
• 45% Eva
  • (20%+25 Eva)

 

Yes, what you said was (almost) how it originally worked. (It was +10.) They seem to have changed it twice since then. (Then to +5% and now to +5.)

Interesting build, just made one, currently lvl 35 and evading 2-3 times in a row and tons of them missing me. Added Provoke and Rage sword, thinking this was a pre 70 build so I'll have a ton of skill points to place. Been going 3 dex, 1 agi, 1 vit, 2.2k hp and still have 15 skill points to go in Mdef and def up in shield skills.

Edit: was thinking of adding Godspeed possibly if stat points work out. And was wondering if the DW evasion buff works with out having dual swords equipped?
