What's wrong with my char?!!

So I just recently capped my Mage (Thanks, @Precaria (; ), and I still find myself inflicting damage no where near as much as some of the other Mage players.

Examples of how much of a weakling, that should rot in the depths of hell, I am:
( Magic: Impact dmg is around about 3,000 using staff )
( Magic: Storm dmg is around about 4,000 to 5,000 using staff )

My combo lvl isn't too high, thus I'm only able to have one combo.

 

Try hitting Ur target 2xwith auto before using Ur combo

I'm a little confused. Are you asking me why my stats are on staff or are you asking staff or magic dev.?

U should get sheild bash N use itbin a combo, sheild bash impact save storm smite and mabey get smash or holy fist for a finisher

 

And Sheild Bash is in the Knight skill tree, right?

Your build is ok nothing wrong with it, but you should try to buy a good staff with high atk and stats of int4% matk4% or int 8 matk 4%

 

As he said above now ur at the point where if u want higher dmg u need to spend spina on stat equipment that focus of Matk and Int for more dmg , Boss drops items are good but not as good as crafted statted equipment

 

Sorry for leaving that way, but I'm glad you capped, you still have 10 SP left, I use that combo Zenki mentioned, use Shield Bash (Shield Skills) as opener and Holy Fist (Priest Skills) as closer, for the heavy combo just use Impact > Storm (smite) > MP Carge (swift) or HF (consec). You have already more Matk than most capped mages and increasing it even more is only a matter of getting player crafted equipment, DG/Mezza and refinement. If you are in a boss battle, do some autos before casting, if there is a swordie or brawler let them spam their skills first, then storm.

U just need to remember element resistance! I dunno if someone said this yet but im to lazy to read the comments. When u have other mages or elemental weapon users in ur pt, u need to select ur weapon nicely; for example when there is a DW with sword of sins(dark), ur damage will decrease when using dark element staff. DW and other mage affects the most because storm and dw atk hits alot, each hit the enemy boss gets resistance over the element. Im not 100% sure but i experimented this

 

Btw if u need cheap refine i offer a cheap one tho i only accept +E max
