Me Again.

I've been seeing more rant threads in forum lately & was in fact inspired by @KAZURUE 's thread: Things I Hate About Toram

I posted a comment in there that went something like this.

My guild alliance and I were doing YouTube vids lastnight in icule while farming tortuga and this player came into the map and was picking on someone calling them stupid and he wanted to fight (knowing d* well that there is no pvp) and was making fun of all the newbies there. I got upset and went looking for him and stood right in front of him and told him off. He didn't say anything after that and in fact he left the map. THEN OF ALL THINGS, I had like 4 players tell me that I was rude and I shouldn't bully others. ROFLMAOOOOOO. So you know what, it's not because I'm "proud" or "stuck up" but it's because there's so many ungrateful players in game, so I only help my guild members now. The rest can figure it out alone like how I did when I started.

By the way, one of those players that got upset because "I got rid of the bully" asked for help later on and I didn't hesitate to laugh and say "oh so now you want help" and proceeded to leave the map. Smh

You know, "hate" is a very strong and negative word. I don't think there's anything about Toram that I "hate" but there are several things (and player habits) I find annoying. But you know what, I just tune the negativity out. I'm a positive person & I'm all for spreading peace.

That incident at Icule reminded me, "this is why I avoid new players." What I've also realized is that there are many "newbies" who are actually just second accounts from players who have been around and they have been scamming Spina or Equips from whoever is willing to dish it out. Don't get me wrong, I've helped MANY players in-game but I DO NOT GIVE HANDOUTS.

I've had someone beg me in the past to help him by plvl and with Spina/Items. I refused. He started this rant in shout about how I must be a High-Level player who is selfish and greedy and does not give back to the Toram community because I won't help new players (aka Elitist).

First of all, not true.
Secondly, I worked my butt off since Level 1 on my very first character (which I still have) and I've worked even harder on my other characters as well. Before I had a guild, I solo'd everything. Before I got a Mage, I was kicked out of at least a hundred mob farm parties. I've been scammed. I've been made fun of. I've had my share of bullies as a newb (which I still consider myself one).

I've WORKED HARD to be where I am today and I encourage new players to work hard too! Guess what, I notice those hard workers & I am always willing to help them. I always go out of my way when I see someone collecting mats for a quest & is having trouble staying alive (ahem* quest for coins at New Moon before Mauze) or lowbies who are desperately trying to not get kicked while farming exp mats--I VALUE those who give their all even if it's not much. (& yet, sometimes they still don't even say Thank-You in the end.)

I'm sorry if there are players out there who beg and grovel and get upset when no one gives handouts. But instead of wasting your time doing all of that, why don't you go find a nice party, make friends, & level up the respectful way!

Noob: I've heard you helped someone to p.level and he menitoned it in the forum that he's very happy with your help.
Me: What is it about you whisper me for?
Noob: Then you can also p.level me. From level 65 to 75
Me: *Ignores noob*

 

I can't remember how many times I've seen beggers in gov off lol, my friend catsu calls them bumsXD

Now I feel guilty about giving out revitas to noobs :/
In my defence, they were all I's and the noobs I gave them to still had to work to level up.

 

Well, we all start somewhere and since this game is all about teamwork, helping newbies isn't a bad thing.

But when someone expects me to have their work done for them and whines if they don't get what they want, expect no pity or kindness from me. You want something, you farm for it, period. Nothing in life comes without doing anything. I accept any class and level in my party for mobs and bosses, but the rule is you have to try. And don't think you're safe just because I didn't insta-kick you when you let the party farm for you, occasionally attacking once or twice, as I've got a pretty good eye for those things.

 

Ahaha i am actually been guilty of handing out free stuff but i tried to limit as much to newbies and actually stopped doing it since consignment board

 

I always experience this attitude from them. Can't stay long at Sofya because ppl will whisper me "are you precaria the sniper" (isn't it obvious? There's no copycat called the same) or "hi can you teach me pls", I already know what they refer to. But I can't dedicate time for everyone and less for ppl I don't even know, plus I worked my * out from the very start and spent months and countless resets, thousands of battles, tests... and they, as new comers, want it all in a silver plate without having the least idea of what it took to be in this place.

Everything they need to know is already on the forum so I point them here. I'm not needed for private lessons...
Yet they get offended and act as victims saying "I knew this would happen", "Pls master/senpai..." (those terms annoy me).
Or at boss' lobby: "hi prec, 1vs1 me", "I want pt you inv pls" ~> and get offended because I'm with guildies and won't leave my pt because of them.

Can't play as a 'normal player'. And that's frustrating.

When I'm in sofya you here people begging for money right? Well, I gave a person 10k to spend on mats sense the player was a new and wanted to talk to me sense the player recently made a forums account, but I guess everyone in Toram was at sofya because I can not go to sofya without getting a pm saying " please can you lend money? You did for that one player." I have helped players lots of times. Things such as getting a add gear or farming them a item ( easy on ofc and small pieces ) but I guess I can't be nice without someone trying to take advantage of it.

 

You know you are the "Precaria" even I don't have archer and I'm not new but when you're around I'm still in awe.

Lol Crazy :3 I' used to help out a lot of people too usually plvling but a lot of them pm me as I help them about how pretty my char is and how they Need me to help them farm out the equipment! I'm like sry u can't farm this it's a avatar then they get mad at me and leave the party in the middle of plvling em!

 

I give revs and regera all the time to the players I see that are struggling. I think that's a generous thing that you've been doing!

Agreed! In fact just today there was a level 66 1h that couldn't find a pt and so I sent her an inv to my Mage pt, because I felt bad for her! She is absolutely capable of doing the mmh quests at that level.

I soon found out she would attack once and then mp charge like 5x. She thought she was slick!

 

I know it's super rough for you Pre! I saw it first hand during Calras Event.

I always get the ones that throw around the term "elitist" and that annoys the s* out of me. =_=

 

I whispered to you when I saw you in Sofya once to say hi. I got ignored, now I'm thinking you must have mistaken me for a noob. Lmao. ^_^
