Hi, I am just starting out in my knuckles build in my account and it is more focused on the crusher skills but every guide is I see about it, it always focused on AGI than STR. Can someone explain and elaborate why crusher build knuckles still needs to focus on AGI, and is it still viable to do STR>AGI build?

You get 2 ATK per AGI for knux I believe, at potentially 500 AGI, that's +1k ATK, base ATK btw. That base attack is used as the base for future damage calculations and as such may be multiplied based on type of skill, equipment or even certain circumstances may result in the stat itself being used as a damage multiplier.

STR I believe has a critical damage cap so a point may be eventually reached in which it isn't worth it putting points in STR for crit dmg.

    That's probably why it's AGI > STR.

Just as Kaisyl said, one reason is that for knux, each AGI gives you 2 ATK, while STR gives you 0. Because of how damage calculation in Toram works, base ATK/MATK is somewhat more valuable than other offensive stats.
The other reason is that crit dmg has a soft cap of 300, any more additional crit dmg added afterward are halved. I.e. if you have 320 cdmg after adding all of the cdmg bonuses from your build, your actual cdmg would instead be 310. That makes STR becomes less effective once the cdmg soft cap is reached, especially for weapons whose main stat is not STR.

if that's the case, then why do other weapon classes like katana sometimes do max STR if there is a crit dmg soft cap

Katana gains atk, stability and aspd from STR stat. ^_^

different weapon types give different atk, aspd, etc. for the same stat you add. before you've confirmed the stats you're adding, you can look at the increase in atk and all that to get a better idea of why str isn't the best stat for knux. of course, as you probably already know, you can't see certain stats like crit damage. also, since others have mentioned how str helps with crit damage, you should probably note that the best way to get crit rate is from equips because the crt stat requires alot of investment before you see any significant change. (just fyi in case you don't know)

AGI also gives ASPD, and while it is pathetic gain for a Speed class, it is STILL GAIN of 4.6 ASPD per AGI, so people invest in it. The more you invest in AGI, the more innate motion speed you get - the less dependent on GSW you are.
