Dual Wield Lvl 3 Skills Explanation

I think to use flash for pure Agi brawler since they focus on agi and eva with high aggro skill

 

Does shadow step crit rate increase per skill lvl?.

 

for the next skill used, yes, unlike Astute that increase crit rate for a short time

 

I know Reflex is not reccomended to be used in combos, But I absolutely love using it as my combo starter. My build I use focuses on this combo-->>

Reflex>Shadow Step(Save)>Twin Slash(Cons)>Phantom Slash(Smite)>Flash Blast(Cons)

The reason I use this combo Is for buffs. Whe I start a boss, My combo includes Flash blast, but as the battle progresses... And My MP drops.. Reflex~Phantom Slash is 1mp. 1MP combo firing Phantom Slash at 110% is nice. Of course, Flash blast can be subbed. I will probably be using chargng slash eventually.

End goal Combo is Reflex>Shadow Step(Save)>Twin Slash(cons)>Spinning slash(Cons)>Phantom Slash(Smite)>Charging Slash

Pslash then remains 1mp, and fires at 130% damage. I know I could Add Astute and add more damage... But honestly... I am playing pure DW. So No blade skills.

I just find that I like the animations of reflex, I love the Speed at which it is cast, And I like how I can keep my buff up no matter what, even without thinking about it.
Playstyle tactics, Thats all.

 

We can take this to another topic, but there are pros and cons that I'm considering about this ^^

 

Youd last MP for the amount of.times you'd have to recast Flash Blast until you get a decent evade. And who said DWs only rely on Reflex for evasion. Im on 100 agi and 400 flee. And i can still do evasion up to 3 times in a row without reflex.

Flash Blast on DW is 2 mins. Enough to kill a boss solo.
Flash Blast on other weapons, enoigh to waste mp every 20 seconds or so. 200 mp for an evade booster skill?

And more importantly
DWs are the only class that d0 unsheathe attacks when evading. While others do not.

Think why does DW revolve around evasion, unsheathe attacks and counter attacking.

Has anyone had any luck with a 'pure' DW build that does 'not' use the Sword Skill tree at all?
I was hoping to use Shadow Step instead of Astute and Trigger Slash (crit boost and AMPR boost), and the Battle Skills tree for attack and crit boost (by using the points saved from the Sword Skill tree).
So far I'm not having too much luck with the build, so just wondering if anyone had any pointers?

 

That's what I started out with, but at some point, you will kick yourself and ask why you are excluding those sword skills. Astute buffers over time. Step buffs next skill only, step has higher crit rate, so if you utilize that before a Twin slash or Phantom for a more secured crit rate, then you will ask yourself why you aren't using Trigger slash for the AMPR buff.

But, the thing is, instead of saying DW skills complement sword skills like back in the day, now people will say sword skills complement DW skills.

If you really want to build a pure DW without using sword skill for any reason, it's self-sufficient ^^

I have a build in mind, but may not go for it since I secretly hate Triple kick ^^

 

My current Build Is PURE DW with the exception Of Power Wave. I do Decent Damage, And I can give you My build In a video If you wish good friend.

 

oh sorry. I quoted you instead of the one you quoted. but yeah. thise were just my findings.

 

now you can do a full dw build with dw skills only. since some of the utility you need from sword skills are now present in dw tree. but as for usage. non fit a damage build. all for utility, and you dont reallt crit much on dw. I tried one now. now on 70. my findings are that you cant really substitute hard hit for cross parry since you dont tumble as much as you flinch. you cant sub shadow step for either astute or trigger. both have different uses. all I can say is that, DW for utility.Blade Skills for Damage

 

You guys are right, it is pretty painful right now, getting last place in every fight.
I ended up going back and getting Hard Hit and Astute.

I think maybe I need to give up on raising my Crit and focus on ATK instead (I have 2:1 DEX:AGI so my ATK numbers are kind of low).

I ended up going back to using the sword skill tree with my DW char. I just couldn't get the character where I needed it to be without those skills.

 

Anyone knows if reflex gives additional eva per lvl Or it just decreases the penalty per level? Im thinking of leaving it at 5 if it only decreases the penalty and just put those points on light arm mastery.

 

@Cypherian, do you know how to consistently activate cross parry buff? The buff is actually really good! Almost +10% atk and 200 aspd at level 10! This is really new to me XD
