Bowgun + MD?

@-@ are there any good builds of them?
I mostly see fu builds
Anyone have some recommend Bowgun/Sword + MD builds?

I know it wouldn't seem like a good idea but I'm just wanting to try it .-.

Also like the idea of using bowguns and MDs
Since they're both my fav types of weapons

 

Sword + MD is weak since MD lowers Phys atk and that's why BG + MD is unpopular (even though atk is fine and impact/javelin/storm(for stormsnipe builds)/arrow would be at normal damage)

 

Oh that sucks ;-;

 

Knuckle sub lowers matk by 15%
MD sub lowers atk by 15%
stats and slots have no effect, only app matters
but you get all of their bonus effects on the "no limit" skills
for martial, that would be only the attack skills, for magic, it's all skills

Bowguns are the only weapons that use only 1 stat to raise atk, so you have 2 free choices for other stats instead of just 1.
if you pick INT for magic you can still have VIT or AGI too.
i recommend DEX, INT, AGI with light armor =(^.^)=

magic changes elements with your weapon, half of the shot skills have set elements, so in comparison to other magic users, you have the advantage of using multiple elements. magic weapons usually come in all variants, but other weapons have a more limited element choice.
bowguns get a high damage boost (the highest of all weapons) to their skills but are balanced with reduced extra effects.
MDs get a boost to extra effects, so it gives you what you don't have yet.
also you can add impact to your skills without wasting points on unused abilities and also get a triple damage bonus to it.

 

Well, the maximum attack archived with a bowgun is 1604, as far as I know. Equipping an MD reduces attack by 25%,Which is a LOT.
the build should be viable, but you'll need to get quite creative to use it to its full potential. Many other builds, like 1h-arrow, staff-arrow and 1h-MD suffer the same problem, not many people use them

Highest atk is 1604?
I don't believe that, unless you meant with JUST the bowgun, or for a lower level cap, or for the atk when used with MD

 

I think he meant "just with bg", means no sub or anything
but that might false since base atk on mg might varies??
Since I have 1687 with only BG (with only roga xtal)

 

Arrow(sub) suffers from -def not -atk.

 

which is why gun-fu works

 

Knux secondary = -matk 15%
Md secondary = -atk 15%
Arrow secondary = -def/mdef 25%
Pretty much as the reason why 'every' fu builds work but can never decently become a pure phy/mag hybrid , same case with md.
Only functioning phy/mag hybrid i see is prolly the ones who uses arrow as secondary since -def isn't really that much. As for the reason as to why theres rarely staff/arrow phy/mag hybrid is.. "why go staff arrow hybrid when you can deal more dps with staff fu", but if youre on it for 'fun' then there's no stopping you.

 

what about dagger?

 

There'a no negatives or whatsoever using dagger as secondary

 

So what if I equip a staff and md as sub? Does the storm I cast have a bigger area yet is still as strong as a staff's storm?

 

Nope, MD does nothing whatsoever. It just looks purdy

What about shield? What will happen if you equip a shield?
