Critical Formula

    I don't know if this should be in guide section or not.

    Do not ask me how I can come up with this formula.
    If you want a proof/evidence/testing, do it yourself.
    If you don't like it and going to take offense, just pretend you did not see anything and leave this thread.

    I just want to share, don't wanna defend myself from any offenders.
    You have the right to take it or not.

    Critical Chance = (((25 + A) * B) + C) / 100

    A = Your Personal CRT STAT / 3.4
    B = (100 + total critical rate percent from equip) / 100
    C = total critical rate from equip + bonus from CRT UP skill + Astute bonus

    Notes:
    Astute bonus: 1h = 25, 2h = 50.
    bonus from CRT UP skill: 5 if maxed.

    Summary in human language:
    1. Base critical chance is 25%
    2. Critical chance from stats is CRT / 3.4
    3. Critical rate % from equip is calculated based on bullet 1 and 2. Example: critical rate 3% from equip means if you don't have any CRT stats, it will increase critical chance by 0.75%.
    4. Critical rate number (without %) from equip is actually real critical chance that added to total value. Example: Critical rate 3 means 3% more chance.
    5. CRT UP add 5% chance if maxed
    6. Astute effect from 1h add 25% chance, 2h add 50% chance
    7. If you have to choose between critical rate number and %, go for critical rate number. It increases chance more than critical rate %.

    Critical Damage Multiplier = (((150 + A) * B) + C) / 100

    A = STR / 5
    B = (100 + total critical damage percent from equip + bonus from CRT UP skill) / 100
    C = total critical damage from equip

    Notes:
    bonus from CRT UP skill: 5 if maxed.

    Summary in human language:
    1. Base critical damage multiplier is 150% (1.5)
    2. Critical damage multiplier from stats is STR / 5. You have 1% more damage every 5 STR.
    3. Critical damage % from equip and CRT UP (5% if maxed) are calculated based on bullet 1 and 2. Example: if you have STR 1, critical damage 3% from equip will increase your damage by 4.5%
    4. Critical damage number (without %) from equip is actually real critical damage multiplier that added to total value. Example: critical damage 3% will increase your damage by 3%.
    5. If you have to choose between critical damage number and %, go for critical damage %.

    Finally I found @NineArts 's work and use it as references.
    While I don't know what equipment and stats he was using in vid.
    Here is what I discovered:

    While Astute Effect is active:
    Critical Atk: 16 times.
    Normal Atk: 2 times.
    Missed: 9 times.
    Total non-evaded atk: 27 times.

    Critical Hits: 59%
    Missed: 33%

    While Astute Effect is not active:
    Critical Atk: 105 times.
    Normal Atk: 57 times.
    Missed: 193 times.
    Total non-evaded atk: 335 times.

    Critical Hits: 30%
    Missed: 54%

    Just for info how KOPI got the number of 25 and 150.
    Base any character Critical chance = 25
    Base any character Critical damage = 150

    So, it's a bit different with your calculation, about that lvl60+ character got that ~30% base critical chance from player stats distribution.
    In this tread all character already had 25% rate, even they not distribute any point.

    Wasn't there a discussion somewhere already saying that calculation was inaccurate?
    I also remember that Kime and other users said it's not correct.

    No one had the perfect formula.
    So I stick with that instead. It's really fit with my assumption.
    I ever do a small test for it. not accurate indeed, but it's still the best info I got out there.

    My assumption of base character critical is not that high (25%),
    At lvl1 character with no stats, my test is only about 10% - 15%,
    My assumption is, the char lvl may increase the base critical rate. But I don't have much time to test it :D

    STR: 146
    CRT: 30
    CRT UP skill lv: 10
    Crit Rate % from Equips: 2
    Crit Rate from Equips: 3
    Crit Damage % from Equips: 4
    Crit Damage from Equips: 6

    Without Astute Effect:
    A = 30/3.4 -> 8 (round down)
    B = (100 + 2) / 100 -> 1.02
    C = 3 + 5

    = (((25 + 8) * 1.02) + 8) / 100
    = 0.41
    = 41%

    With Astute Effect (2H)
    = 91%

    Critical Damage Multiplier:
    A = 146/5 -> 29 (round down)
    B = (100 + 4 + 5) / 100 -> 1.09
    C = 6

    = (((150 + 29) * 1.09) + 6) / 100
    = 2.01

    Yeah 2H is critical freak.
    My suggestion is playing with calculator in links @Alleura pointing above, slightly different than my formula and many claim it's inaccurate, but that's what we have at this moment.

    When doin muez in mages and got hit by bleed then silence... all i do is bsic which 300-400 mostly.. but on 2h crit XD 1200-1500 crit without skill wew.ill be level more.... HuRRaY ! ! ! For Big Swords ! ! ! ! !

    I think others users volunteered addition stats that change the final numbers (DEX improving crit rate?)(idk)
    I'm cool with KOPIs formulas in that they are transparent and manageble and likely collect that biggest variables. Deviations will become more pronounced at higher levels, but for now I like them.

    Full Str Lv.1 Swordie, Str: 53, using Lv.3 Astute, with Fluffy Tail and Forest Wolf Garb (using app), weapon was BD Sword, with +2 Str Xtal, equipment of offhand was Storm Dagger.

    I've read somewhere that Str increases Crit Damage, Lv.10 Astute gives +25% Crit Rate, perhaps the increase in level only gives increased duration.

    EDIT: any posts from JP sources telling that Dex also increases Crit Rate a little aside from the added Hit and added Stability?

    I want to put out there that Luck stat affects the randomizers, mitigating them. Luck also affects Stability randomizer too.

    I'm working on cracking this formula, as well, for my Luck Stat thread. But I need that base crit pinned down. I'll start running tests in January with a double baseline. Should take until Feb. I'll post results for you, kopi. Give you a hand with that part.

    Good effort in your part, nonetheless. Thx bud.

    Atk stat used for calculating base dmg. Then the critical dmg multiplier applied to base dmg, if it's critical hit.
