Is it still possible to make a semi tank-finale mage?

    Back then when it's still storm era, the semi tank build is popular. But since finale is up, mages tend to focus to be a long range dps (idk what should i call it). I'm wondering if it's still possible to build this kind of mage.

    yes, you can (Int>vit/ Mtl>Vit=Int). but its hard to use finale since the boss will keep an eyes to you. On special occasion, it might well on iron empress (phase 3). Lets say you are tanking gwaimol or orn. Mage tank might in a pinch a bit. If you are tanking p.ava, you wont need finale, she wont let you use it >_<

    Yeah i understand this, the finale's cast time is the problem. I thought that maybe burst will do better for damage while tanking but it need to be stacked first + getting certain cspd to instant cast it...

    Even if finale got cancelled it will still generate aggro.

    I would recommend everyone to just follow the common roles... Tanks are 1h and shield for example.Going versus devs always tend to fvck you for example fu classes got rekted with antimelee era and now tank full mental gonna be fvcked by sick status or who knows maybe status ailment rate 170% or worse

    Tanking and using finale goes against all principles, perhaps you are not trully talking about tanking, if you wanna consider whats trully tanking fight P.Avatar. It's impossible and not logic at all, so don't waste your time on this idea.
    suuuuureeee u can kite but thats only for certain bosses.......and even if u kite any 2h or even dt spammer will steal the agro resulting in a messy party

    burst mage tank could work (but it's the dark souls of tanks), you have your own cc, javelin,impact and shield bash/cannon. If the fight is really long, a bit of dmg contribution from the tank can help a bit by using burst when there's a chance.

    It is possible to make 1 and u probs wont even need to use mp charge that much, maybe only if the boss moves out of range, my mage can have 180+ampr with just 1s and not even all ampr xstals, combine that with decoy and around 1.1k aspd and u can even spam a 12mp combo, impact finale swift javelin swift, and if u get flinched or anything during finales cast u still get aggro from it

    Video from few months ago, stats are int vit, combo changed abit because gsw is part of my build originally but i play my mage much diffirent than shown in the video

    People look down on provoke, but I loved spamming it on the run with some storm proration... but the elephant in the room is really proration: dps spam phy but hardly balance it with melee. You can see it while tanking especially in a full melee pt. When you understand the principles of tanking then you will find this as easy as bg tanking. Also finale is fine when using on an incoming target but you should swift it or manual it from my experience plus if you want a dps tank combo then bg or 2h might be a better bet imho
