I have a problem here. i currently have a full ampr build set up with
    saber moonpotum sroar
    arm with sroar
    mscarf with sroar
    2 warbangle with sroar eerie
    i have a total of 30 ampr.

and im a dw. using this set with my 1h. it takes 2-3 attacks to fill 1 mp bar. but with dw it takes only one attack to fill one mp bar.
is it that dw has a higher base ampr or is the attack animation of the dw equivalent to 3 attacks of a 1h.

and adding to that. using the build above on my dw. using trigger slash doesn't add any more ampr.

is trigger slash like "increases your ampr to a certain point"

The dual sword normal attack is equivalent to 2 normal attacks of any other weapon (it recovers mp by attacking twice during one normal attack).
Also, the way trigger slash works is that is boosts attack mp recover after the skill is used until the next skill is used. The boost is based on the skill level (level 1 = 10%, level 2 = 30%...level 10 = 100% [doubles]). However, I think trigger slash affects the base mp recovery (10 + number of mp bars), not the total (as in it doesn't factor in equips), but I'm not sure about this since I haven't tested it.

I know and im just saying that it didnt make a difference. I still dont because a lot people say trigger takes into consideration how much np you have

Yes you are right! MP regeneration works in percentages, you'll regen more mana by having a larger mana pool (Note: more doens't mean faster, the ticks are always the same). And more mana per interval means more mp bars filled in the same amount of time.

I did a test on Sober Analysis and got this:
With 13 mp bars, recovering 3 bars with auto attacking having 200 ASPD took:
    29 seconds with no SA,
    27 seconds with SA Lv1
    23 seconds with SA Lv10

It doesn't recover mana 'faster', but more amount in the same number of ticks. However, with less mp the difference couldn't be distinguished (having SA with 4 MP bars is near useless) as the percentages work with such low values to be even noticeable with a low mana setting.

    .....-_-
A long time ago, back in august, I calculated it as +3mp/rank/3 sec.
    +30mp @ max.
    30×10=300
    So 300mp in 30sec.

Perhaps it's been updated and altered. Perhaps not. I'll have to check this myself and either concur or not. Just to be sure.

    Dispelled.
    I just checked it.

    My official report:
Sober 10 is +30 ATK mp regen AND allows Quick Rest to work in battle at reduced rate.

    Reduced rate is:
    (Quick Rest 5: 30mp/3sec with Sober 1-10.)
    (Quick Rest 10: untested.)

At 1689 Aspd, this is 300mp in 8.4 seconds of auto attacks.

    @Precaria
So you are correct for 200 apsd, sorta.
It is worthless for ampr @200 Aspd. But the secondary quick rest effect is still useful as it works while charging, giving an extra 90mp in 9 secs @ 5 ranks.

We both tested with huge aspd difference, few people have around 200aspd and not all people have 1689aspd, maybe a mid point like 1k would be better for the general reference. Also, how much total mp you had in the test?

787mp and then 1487mp. No change in overall regen, time, interval, or rate.

Each rank of Sober is a static +3 ampr.

    QuickMemo+_2016-01-15-22-27-35~2~2.jpg
    • Total: Refers to amount gained while getting to 300ampr.
    • Aspd: Character's Aspd. (Duh!);)
    • Time: Time is takes to get to 300ampr.
    • Quick Rest: This is the amount regenerated via the Quick Rest Skill at 5 ranks during the time it takes to regen the 300 mp via Sober Analysis 10.
    • 1 Minute: This is the total mp gained by simply auto attacking for 1 minute.
    • 1 Sec: 1Minute ÷ 60 for ease of comprehension.
    • All tests were done with either fists or MDs and Sober 10/Quick Rest 5. No additional ampr gear was used.
    • Each run timed by hand, repeated 10x, averaged, and done with both 787 then 1487 max mp. (Yes, each Aspd was done 20×! Lol.)

    Notes:

    1. Using Mp Charge 10 with a staff for 1 minute straight would yield 6,429 MP.
    2. Using Mp Charge 10 with an MD for 1 minute straight would yield 5,000 Mp.
    3. There is a ceiling around 2100~2400 Aspd for fists and MDs it seems. This is due to auto attack animation slowing you down.
    4. Each weapon has a different attack animation spd. DW would be slowest and have a much lower ceiling at probably 1800.
    5. Motion speed does allow increases in total speed of ampr but it is insignificant. Between 1200 and 3000, the difference is only +60mp. Between 3078 and 4578, is also only +60mp.
    6. It appears that roughly each +10% motion spd is +30mp due to extra attack.

Great, what about Quick Rest LV10?
Can I have double the above numbers with Quick Rest LV10?
That would make Sober as good as Mp Charge.

No. Quick Rest will not affect a change in the ampr rate of Sober. However, it will give an increase in the amount gained every 3 secs from Quick Rest. I find the extra mp it gives not really worth the 5 extra skill points, atm.

The plus 3 ampr from sober analysis, is that +3 for a total of 15 mp or more like +36 for a total of 48 per attack? Ampr=12+(sober analysis lvl 1 "+3 ampr" =36=12x3) =46 total mp recovered per attack?

So if base ampr is 12 that's 42 mp recovery per attack?

Do you know if Trigger multiplies this as well or does it only work for gear/base ampr?

Thanks so much super helpful. My next 15 points for my brawler will go in short rest/sober analysis. Almost 100 mp in two attacks is too good to pass up.
