About AI and Aggro

    Well, today I was playing Toram since the last update, when they added the Green Dragon.
    The fact is, i was in party with 3 other people, 2 warriors, 1 mage, and me Ranger DPS. Then WHENEVER the fight begins the Dragon was Aggroing me despite i any aggro+ equip and one of the warriors has in acitive (i asked) the BD Cape. Even i tried twice to don't attack the dragon until it drops to half healt but at the first attack i did (Basic attack, not even skill) automatically aggroed on me.

    I too suffer unnecessary aggro. Embraced it. Added survival tree. Bosses seem to love jumping players using combos (the really, really stupidly long, wildly impractical ones)- this could be it. Maybe breaking? I don't know. All is anecdotal as I am lazy with scientific method.

    Yeah the same thing happens to me when i start dropping 7k bombs on volgs numbskull , even with a tank and a breaker in front of him he still faced me and blew fire like it was new year in china . . . . .

    yeap my tank always hold aggro, but there's some instances when an uber 2hander gets the attention, that's when I spam provoke just to get aggro back.
    Back to the archer, same with me, always getting the attention with a party with no provoke tank, I read that Moeba shot does accumulate some aggro because of the status ailment? then I'm guessing paralyze shot does too, then put em in a combo = aggro. haven't tried using that Stealth skill, might be useful in the future, when bosses can 1or 2 shot nontank classes.

    I'll buy status affliction- I'm generally deally out flinch, tumble, stun, stop, def down and the like (basically the current martial skill tree) when pulling aggro.

    I still find 'tastes like chicken' to be an equally valid response. Ciao

    Archer moeba shot has a lot aggro .... if the tanker doesnt have any aggro EQ , it will attack archer thats keep spam aggro ..... its fun to tank with archer :p , maybe archer tank will born

    Yea, any status effects draw massive aggro, esp if you're stacking them with combos. This reigns esp true for Archer and Mages who's skills almost always leave ailments on the enemy. I spec'd sneak attack on my Archer just to try it out, but the trick to using it is putting it at the end of combo so that way you can rain down damage really quickly and then go stealth to MP Charge (as a re-load) and then rinse and repeat.

    I tested this with Forestia, and after getting aggro from Forestia and the Rutins right from the first shot of my combo, once Sneak activated at the end I watched all of them stop for a second and immediately turn away towards another pty member. I do believe it's not 100% each time, but it's often enough to invest in it if you plan on farming the hard hitting bosses, or the ones with minions on the field.

    would you care to tell us how much skill points you invested in Sneak attack skill, coz now I'm looking to include it in my build.

    Mind to tell me the range damage deal by sneak attack? Casting time and mp cost at lv10? ..... i didnt level it becoz the name is too sneaky ah ahhahah

    I invested the full 10 just to ensure that I would get the best out of the skill and it seems to work pretty well.

    There is no range or damage to this skill, nor is there a casting time, it happens instantly. The cost is 200 MP. The skills only function is to push away aggro the moment it's activated.

    Those slow, stun, knockback skills etc create a lot of aggro, if they are spammed in a combo the boss is going to love you.

    Having said that any half decent tank with provoke should be able to keep aggro with one provoke, a second provoke might be needed later depends.
    2 handers that pew pew with 30k+ combo damage have a habbit of drawing aggro from tanks alot.

    My tank has lvl10 provoke... still the boss atk other ppl sometime XD

    Also when tanking, make sure you're not playing in a McDonald's wi-fi.
    One "Reconnecting...Reconnected" flash on your screen and all your precious aggro will be GONE.
    Bye bye to the next highest dps/buffer/debuffer then.

    When tank disconnects it a big poop moment!
    Aggro resets, run like you've never run before! Gold skeleton really hurts when that happens :(.
