Breaker ranking: need confirmation

It is so weird!!! Other day inwas arguing with a guy that for someone to get breaker rank ,that person must be the one who use SKILL to break (eg. Hard hit, p.shoot) . But he said that the breaker rank is given to a person who TAP.

Ofc, i thought it was bullshit.

Today, i went to farm astol. I used my archer and i can break 2 parts.

But i NEVER get the breaker rank. I was like no.3 or 4 on the rank.

And the first place go to a mage or to a support member who doesnt even hit the bird.

I usually end up getting rank at tank or support.

There was one time that a guy told me if he can "break it". I though he gonna use skill to break but... he ran to the side and wait and do nothing till i said "kill".... (meaning 2 breaks)

I was like "oh maybe he want to see how to break"

Then he got no.1 in the breaker rank. I was like WTH.

So... anyone noticing this?? Coz before it doesnt matter who tap it, the one who use breaking skill get the rank. Now it doesnt seem to work that way.

Ps. I wasnt upset coz i still got a rank (and also Wing, Yay)

But this is SO weirdddddddd

 

The player that deal the most (flinch, tumble and etc) that cause break get 1st. This is from my perspective alone.

Tapping the break maybe only add to overall dmg. (Hypothesis)p.s may attract aggro as well.

 

Actually,both points are contributing to the breaker rank.
It's the combination of the two that really gets you the rank.

 

it's the tapping and the amount of interrupts you manage to do to an aoe

 

On a scenario created by me and my friend(IRL)

He is 1 hand swordman
I'm a archer.
He initiate a break and never tap. But I tap and end up he get rank 1.

was he the one doing the most interrupts?

 

Just 1 time hard hit.
The boss is too squishy for us now

 

there's also a possibilty that the mage,support member and the guy that stand on the side used knuckle skill like bash/sonic wave
we cant see those skill

 

Based on my observations, breaker rank has nothing to do with who tapped.
From my observations these factors affected breaker rank:
1) Number of Interrups (flinch, stun, tumble)
2) Number of natural breaks (occurs during shell break and occasionally with knuckle regular attack)
3) Damage inflicted on enemy while it is broken (while red circle, not white, is visible)
4) Damage inflicted from attacks that cause interrupts

Now these are just my observations, and like any observation, it could be partially wrong, or even completely wrong XD.

 

Thank you for everyone's input. I've been struggling to figure out how breaker ranking works as well. When I play my 1h I normally get the breaker reward even though I rarely tap.

 

Probably the 3 reason while mages got the rank. I was busy running away from boss since he was chasing me so i didnt stack much.

Btw, seveal mention brawler skill... could they use brawler skill if they didnt equip knuckle???

 

yes, you can use martial skill and magic skill with any weapon

 

Btw, today i party up with a brawler. And he didnt even get a breaker rank.

He (brawler) got tank rank and i got support rank.

 

I got a question for mage user. Does knock back consider as break inflicting status?

 

How often you inflict stagger effects (flinch, tumble, stun, etc) and numbers of tap damages you inflict during tap reveal duration... Combination of both these factors will determine whether you get Breaker rank or not.
That's my current hypothesis...

imo its not about tapping and interrupting cause my int/agi magic device mage can get breaker rank just by auto attacking..

 

Yea that why i got so confuse ...

I played toram for abour 2 months ... i think ... when s.art price still 2k per stack.

My 1h sword always get the breaker rank. And i never see a mage get the breaker rank. I just regcognized this change a few day ago at astrol ;(

So i wasnt sure what happend

 

breaker rank is depending on how much normal attack u gave,thats why dual sword is the best job for breaker becuz it hit 4 times while other job 1/2 times only
