Dual Wield: Is Phantom Slash worth it?

So I have a question...
Is Phantom Slash (DW tier 3 skill) worth it? Or should I forsake it and max Shadowstep (The other tier 3 skill)?

 

it depends on ur build/combo, ure comparing a dps skill with a utility skill..
twin slash and phantom slash is a hard hitting skill for DW, while shadowstep is for positioning and to enchance ur ampr / increase crit / trigger unsheathe attack...
both are worth it IMHO

 

Imo i will go for ShadowStep if u will just gonna choose one

It depends on your build. Some DWs go for Tempest, some go for Rampage, some go Charging Slash, some go Spinning Slash, Some go Phantom Slash.

IT REALLY depends on how you build and play your DW.

 

id say go for charginng slash+shadowstep instead so u spend less sp but choose the shadowstep level to fit in your combos

 

So...how does Rampage work with DW? I've tried it before, but it did nothing.

 

I think rampage is broken.
It gets weaker when used in a combo. so i dropped rampage for now.

 

My dw isn't finished yet but tested him at empress tonight and was pleasantly surprised .. By performance with weak weapons lol.. And how much fun I had using shadow step.. An yur talking to a 2h who isn't used to fast movements I literally dodged tru her cannon and tumbled the shi! Out of her lol so fun..even got atk rank out of many breaker ranks.. Light mastery works well if u don't want to put anything in survival just trowing that out their ..alil less than 2 k hp hit with 2 cannons still survived ..

I've gotten both skills to lvl 10, and I'm focusing on an evasion build.

 

Got Flash Blast lvl 5.

 

When you use Phantom Slash as your main dps skill you usually leave Shadow Step at lvl 1 so it is the save tag in your combo. Personally I prefer Phantom Slash because it fits my play style more.

 

Yur correct .. I forgoed phantom slash for Tempest.. Because that fits my Playstyle... I left shadow step for combo saver.. I feel like a baby 2h hehe .. And with a double smited combo roga isn't too bad..

 

If I wnna use phantom slash,my combo would go Astute>Phantom Slash(Swift)>Twin Slash(Save)>Shadow step(Consecutive). Some say phantom slash is not good but it actually deals 4000 or more depends on your dex and agi.

 

Wa.... wait.... If Twin Slash is save, and shadow step consecutive as ender..... it will cost about 900mp...

Edit: Astute (100mp) + Phantom Slash(400mp) + Twin Slash (400mp because of the mp that save didn't use,so it's double the mp use) + Shadow Step (0mp because of consecutive)

 

Huh,maybe I should try changing the combo.But you see it only gives me 500mp cause it works on me.Of course its weird but I don't wanna use consecutive in phantom slash or my dmg will get lower.But instead using on twin slash it focus on critical rate.

 

Lol, then please edit your post since there have a typo, i presume you wanna write CONSECUTIVE in Twin Slash instead of SAVE. XD

 

If you have trigger slash i can recommend you the combo like:
Spinning Slash > Astute (Consecutive) > Twin Slash (Consecutive) > Trigger Slash (Consecutive) > Phantom Slash (Smite) > Shadow Step (Consecutive).

This is just my old combo, you can take this as refer material or just ignore it, hope you can find the combo that suit you well ^^

I'm curious.. whats the diff between lv 10 shadowstep and lv 1 shadow step? I'm currently using Lv1 shado step as a utility to evade enemy attack and kick start ampr.. does it make sense to level shadow step to 10?

I'm assuming Lv10 shadow step costs less mp? What else does it do?

Atm I'm using a 1mp combo and sticking it at the end to keep ampr high (shadow step as part of the combo), that kinda negates the 400mp cost.. but...If shadow step has particular benefits at lv 10, i may be missing out on something. .
