Breaking the Pillar Golem's Parts

Hi, does anyone have any tips to break all of the pillar golem's parts? I have no trouble breaking the leg and arm but I just cant break the head, I can't get the tap icon to show up but when it does show up, I absolutely have no idea how I did it and it only lasts for a second. I'm using shield bash to break the parts.

 

You need a party to break the head. Have them stand behind Pillar Golem while you stun it. You can break it easily from behind.

 

There's a video on it somewhere on forums but idk where it is. Probably on the screenshots and videos section

tested on my part with hard hit and cross parry. although each break increases pgolem defense

The head can be easily broken if you stand behind him D=
I didn't just hear this, I tested it. I got my armor, the shield and the bow (... a crapton of bows actually) from farming him and breaking him like that for about an hour.

 

Okay thank you, I'll try that. I only do stun because it takes longer to kill whenever I flinch or tumble it.

 

So I should I stun it from behind? Or it doesn't matter where I stun it as long as it is stunned and there are members standing behind it for the tap icon to show?

 

I'll just try all the methods you guys suggested and see which works best.

 

It doesn't matter as long as people are standing behind the Golem when you stun. The icon will show for whoever is closest. That's the way we did it.
There might be a faster way to do it, but hey, this worked wonders for me.

Hey i was in a party just now and one of the members was saying that dont flinch or tumble him, can i know why? Cause clearly we need to in order to break the parts right?

 

Flinching and tumbling pg causes him to go into red mode
100% resistance for a short while and then 100% proration lock permenantly?
Not only that but it will do extremely powerful atks like 2 direct hits and a very quick groundslam aoe
So stunning it is the safest method to break pg since it doesnt trigger its red mode
