apparently i have nothing better to do...
made another test - Sonic Wave with staff and with staff+MD.
the result is 50% proc rate for both.
    no bonus for using MD.

    test subject: Euris Lv30
    number of skill uses: 174

    staff only
    expected: 50% = 87 procs
    result: 93 procs = 53%

    staff + MD
    expected: 75% = 130 procs
    result: 93 procs = 53%

    now it's your turn :p

    I tested it too it,
Lvl5 sonic wave sword as main md as sub tumble proced 25 out of 100 range just 8m

Lvl5 sonic wave staff as main knux as sub tumble proced 73 out of 100 range increased to 12m

It seems md will only give proc rate boost to magic skills and not martial skills
Knux will give proc rate boost to martial skills and not magic skills
    Kinda seems correct tbh :v
Md affecting martial skills is like saying arrow as sub increases proc rate of sword skills.

MD as sub weapon do NOT increase magic damage when you are wearing a staff.

i also said magic damage, not matk.
and it's the same: MD sub does NOT grant it's bonus effects when using staff as main. you only lower your atk.

I dont think magic dmg from skills will increase if theres no change in matk. Same goes for physical dmg and atk stat.

staffs and MDs both give a bonus effect to magic skills. MDs can also be used as sub-weapon, in that case their stats don't apply but they grant all of the MD bonus effects in exchange for 15% of your atk stat.
this does work with any weapon other than staff. main weapons have priority, so you get the staff bonus and cannot get the MD bonus. you just loose 15% atk.
poration from physical skills is there, but MDs have no effect on those skills. and with the 15% less atk they will just be weaker.

when u say 15% less the atk means? 15% less matk?

    atk is atk.
staff and martial skills will become weaker and tap damage will also be lowered.
the point is, that there is no beneficial compensation for that atk loss.
that's why daggers are better for this build - you have the same magic power and skill bonus and instead of degrading your attack, you can increase matk, MP or evasiondepending on the dagger.
