Idk about attempts but when Empress came out I got her xtal without doing anything. I just went into the boss fight a little after my PT members because I was fixing my bag and a sec after I got in they had already defeated her. I didn't have the time to do anything and whips just like that I got the xtal.

I think it was between 10-100 attempts

 

My best xtals drop rate would be at warmo. I think it kinda like me since it drop me 3 xtal in 3 days of farming. My second xtal warmo was the best i logged in join a pt and got it on first try

 

Yeah, there is definitely behind the scenes economics at play. If I have excess xtals, I will sell them on and keep the Spina, as the xtals would decrease in value once a better version is released.

But they have an issue economically is they don't find a use for the inferior / older crystals. They are rather redundant otherwise. A good example I dicuss often is the MP +150 xtal dropped by Tulin and the the MP+ 150 (-1 atk %, -1 MagA%) xtal from Gespenst. A mob drops a better xtal than a boss, yet the boss drop seems to drop less. Unless there is something hidden and mysterious about the xtal of Gespenst that no one is aware of, then it is currently redundant.

I feel, the best use for the Gespenst xtal, would be to enhance the boss version of 'Old Cloak'. Where it changes the appearance into a form that is visually attractive (Maybe it looks less worn or gains a more sinister look) and enhances its base stats and adds a new line.

Forest wolf solo xtal back to back runs. Roga x2 within a half hour. Grylle on 2nd kill. Eerie xtal x2 and armor within 50 runs back at 50 cap. Tons of xtals from gem runs of course. Also pillar golem xtal when all I wanted was a shield in 4 runs.
Overall I feel like RNGesus has been pretty good to me over the years. Still never had a killer coat drop from roga in over probably 500 ish runs.

 

I've gotten more weapon dyes than xtals, and I've only got one weapon dye

 

I never get any boss/mini xtal except for Warmo on normal mode after killing it hundreds of times while trying to gain cp..... but then last week....
Get Choc Ooze in about 10 runs with a random party and no books/gems. Next day I get another one in 15 runs or so.

 

I don't usually boss farm, so I don't usually get anything. I do remember farming 2 mini xtals in 3o mins, 1 forest wolf in 45, 2 brutal dragons in 30, 2 Zegas in 24hrs. Meh. Baby bosses.

First, IMO, there is something fishy about equipment followed by "(Boss Version)" tag behind its name. Yes, to distinguish between Normal Monster's or Boss' drop, their stats also different. But what if they were intend to do something about it later, just like what you said.

Second, it might has something to do with this:

"Enhancer Crysta", Example:
-You need to enhance your boss xtal first in order to use it as a material for equipment upgrade, or
-You need to attach it to equipment first if you want to enhance it with an xtal.

my best is actually yday ph time . 1st ms kill = tadah xtal. approx time less than a minute. and the funny thing after i said xtal with my party the leader said h's using a book. and i said errrrr

Hope so, I feel they will implement something along those lines some day. As Iruna is the baseline for Toram. It would be unusual for them to abandon such a mechanic. And it would be a good way to mix the experienced players with the new waves of new players.

 

I got bk xtal on practice round right before using legendary gem. So I got 2 xtals in 2 rounds o.o

 

got 2 warmonger xtals consecutively no books no gems
