Guard Strike

someone please tell me how to calculate damage from guard strike
i think this skill is good for additional damage

It is still a physical skill so cdmg and ATK boosts it power.
Refine shield as high as possible. +B/+A if you can
+B gives +780 base damage.
Additionally every guard power % increases the damage done by 1%
Do NOT take advanced guard skill it does not give guard power to shield users.
Forehead guard NPC version is probably still the best add gear for it.
Imo guard strike build is difficult to make since you have 2 more stats (Guard and Guard power) to worry about in addition to ampr, crit rate, cdmg to get from equipments try different setups see which one suits you the most.

But wouldn't Adv.Guard make it so you could Guard more often? Pretty sure it would be beneficial (as it affects Guard Rate).

 

if a pure tank can deal 10k+ guard strike i recon str>vit sword+board would deal a lot more... Prob around 80k-100k

 

Yeah it still gives 5% guard rate to shield users but that small amount of guard rate is not worth 10sp just heavy mastery is enough.

Uhm... no it cant do 80-100k lol I dunno how a pure tank can do 10k either without switching to all dps gears and having rest str after full vit.

I doubt it can even do more than 30k-40k and that I am saying with a full str rest dex glassy tank with 50% guard power +S shield.
It just has very high base damage meaning you will feel as if you are doing lot of damage with very low atk/lvl char but actually it also means the returns are very diminishing as atk increases

 

If advanced guard just adds 5% guard rate, then it's not really worth 10SP, might as well use it for other skills then save SP later for the Lv215 guard skill instead. (I presume it will be a skill that guard magic damage? hopefully? #prays)

In any case, if you're already equipped a shield, and you just want to proc guardstrike more often, just make space to add Guardian in your combo. :V

 

You can already guard magic attacks though only half the guard power is applied, the thing that you cant guard is fractionals.

Yes you can.
Certain shapes of aoe are always unguardable tho.
