Have u met a tanker like this? (The "entitled" class?)

Story 1
On my not so special day, powerleveling my mage at builder golem i came across with this tanker in a party. When he invited me, he immediatly asks if i have some "roasted chicken" that i could provide him. Unfortunately i have none. He said that he needs it to tank better.
As we move on he said that if we could try to lure 2 builder golems, everyone agrees. Other 3 members are hb and us 2mages. Unfortunately seems like its a bit tricky for him to tank 2 builders coz his hp keeps dropping. So he decided to stick with 1 builder golem instead.
For some inevitable circumstances, builder golem tends to respawn on our spot at a corner so we mages tends to pull it at times, not very often tho. We pulled another builder golem, and our tanker died. We two mages took the aggro, tanked and dps at the same time while waiting for him to respawn. Just so i noticed that the HB is not attacking, also ive notice that he is also a guildie of our tanker. I told him to attack while we mages tanking, he doesnt move. Until his guildie revived and started attacking again. Our tank started to get pissedoff why there were multiple golems. I told him his guildie is not attacking while we manage the aggro. Then he says "well thats totally fine instead of pulling f*cking more golems". At that moment i realized that he asked his guildie not to attack while we tank coz he is so pissed off he died tanking more golems. He keeps complaining that its like tanking 3 iconos at the same time.. Yadah yadah and stuff.
I left the party, looked for other members and my other partymate joins my new party too. He said that he is annoyed too coz that tanker feels so entitled. Now with new pt it was way better, and kills are way "FASTER"


Story 2
During Odelon hype, i met this "entitled" tanker that was itching to tank multiple Odelons (well not really new now coz theres really alot of "capable" tankers can do it). I started with my lvl 140 sniper. Back then he demanded for us to lure each coz he wanted to tank 3 odelons. In our second run i switched to my 119 mage which i guess a wise choice for multiple odelons than a single target sniper. As per 21-22k per tick of storm overtime i think it deals a decent damage or atleast at par with my sniper while hitting multiple targets at the same time. So our party now consists of him and us 2 mages. So we supported him and lured as what he requested. I noticed that his HP drops fast. Then here goes the drama, he said that he didnt signed for this(party) and he was just wasting a lot of revitas cos of us. He even accused us being "luck" mages. I stayed silent, while the other mage said that he is dealing around 25k per tick of storm. I asked him if i should switch back to sniper. But then he was focused insisting that we are still "luck" mages and disbanded the party. He even shouted nobody would like to party with us coz we are "luck" mages.

How bout you? Can you share your experiences(good/bad) with tankers or being a tanker?

i really hate those kind of people who blame others despite it is actually himself that incapable of doing his things. lmao. pathetic.
im a mage too so i had similiar experience like yours. Left the pt and then i got a new better pt.

but hey i met a lovely tanker too, so at first we only took 3 builder but my storm somehow took another one, i was going to go to guild bar so the builder i took will gone but the tank said he is fine :") eventhough his hp keep getting lower he tried so hard, i feel bad so i took 1 builder to focus on me and fight it alone for a while until another builder died then the tank took back the aggro :")) he said thank you and sorry i had to tank for a while im touched

 

I haven't even met tanks in the game, lol.

Yeah, i also have soft spots with those kind of tankers when they tend to feel guilty when they were being truly awesome. But some are so arrogant given the fact that their tanking truly sucks XD

 

Dying because of 2 builder golem is definitely a tank wannabe.

You should have blocked those 2 as a reminder, so you won't get to party with them again. ^_^

You should have shouted back at the tank wannabe for having a soft marshmallow nut that is sensitive to even tank properly.
Better block him, he is not worth the time. I have seen manticores tank better.

Our tanker spammed lot of physical skill and interupt. Made me can't use Zantei and wasting 6 MP at once -_-

Odelon is based on fractional damage,so tanks are not effective at all

I think im the one you talking about here.

First I wanna say my side of the story. I always party with randoms. and since majority of players dont know how to make a proper party boss wise and proration wise, Im one who knows what i want when and what members i need. same goes with many dont even know how to look for party just by shouting plain "LFP"
I always prefer to pick member coz when the dps cant deliver, its the tank will always burn all resources and at that time when Odelons are very new and i was testing it out. I shouted "LFM DPS pm class+lvl" I got you a high lvl archer and a cap Mage. you were invited bcoz i agreed to to your class and lvl. then we killed the 1st 3 boss fast then the next batch, it took more longer than the 1st one but we did kill it still. I got curious coz from a 5-6 mins 3boss odelons it became 15mins+. then i decided to check the party and i was surprised! From a level 130+ sniper you changed to a lvl110+ mage (cant recal the lvl but definitely more weaker). and the other capped mage dps changed to a mage still 120+. Thats why i said to u i didnt signed for this. AND ALL THAT SWITCHING HAPPENS WITHOUT INFORMING ME!

You see you might be used to partying with your guild that they can carry you. But ill advised when your patying on randoms, always use what the party will expect you to do and class party expect from you.

The thing with dps is you only think about yourselves. you only think about your drops possibilities. they think the game only revolves to dps.

Tanks are turning into the new "dw". They cant realize their limits and prowess instead they blame the party instead, such entitled players that dont realize they are fully dependant on the dps members to get any slot in a party, like no one would even invite them if the party knows how to take care of itself. I have chars that can tank 2-3 builders or 2-3 odelons even with 40-60VIT while still doing above decent damage its more about aggro management than hp management.

Honestly its becoming a joke at this point, it wont be a surprise if it became cool to hate on tanks. To all of them who think they are "cool and big shot" just coz they can survive multiple mini bosses targetting them at once instead of complaining about the dps members how about killing all of the mini bosses yourself too if you think you are so op?

 

A low hp character can tank odelon because you can just heal through the fractional damage.
To be fair Toram does punish tankers.With the overabundance of fractional,fatal and even burns,tanks don't have a point nowadays.Even flinch,tumble and stun tatics are being completely punished,especially in the new Megiston boss event.Why do the developers/programmers go out of their way to punish the obscure?
The biggest joke is Toram Balancing the Game.

 

For someone who got and maintaining a defense thread, wasn't expecting the saltiness

 

He pushing a multi role char. The thread is just a "how to skin a cat in 101 ways" guide. Anybody and everybody can be and should be "tanky".
long salty road of any mmo is harsh, at least there is more freedom in toram and not bound by mere ste... Classic roles.

 

I am salty in general all the time but I can also say you calling me salty as a salty behaviour as well, I wasnt expecting that. No one was pointing fingers at you, you felt attacked personally yourself lol. I hate both "entitled tanks" that blame the party when run gets longer when they themselves cant add anything to make the run faster and the "entitled dps" that have jack defenses and blame the tanks when they cant survive or hold their aggro this thread is not about entitled dps tho and I feel I have complained about them enough at this point.

Me making a defense guide has nothing to do with what I feel personally your point is completely invalid, its a universal guide explaining aspects of toram that are not dps related, (All these aspects which were completely unexplained in the past) that doesnt mean dps chars should completely ignore them.

 

My sniper was lvl 140 that time. When we started u DEMANDED for us to lure coz u wanted 3 odelons. We followed you, just then i was just thinking my sniper is a SINGLE target. I tested out with my mage, it was lvl 119 back then. But "level is just a number" it doesnt mean we dps mages damages are weak if lower level?
Okay so it seems like it doesnt work for you and its slower, so asked your preference if ill switch back.
Well the whole point here is, why do u even act that way and think that we are leeching?? Do all tankers think that way when circumstances dont go as they wanted to? You can just atleast tell me oh pls switch back to sniper instead of accusing us dps leeching. The way you acted and responded make you so "entitled" sir.
