Hmmmm.. Okay so this is clear, its all about;
1. You didn't like the "thought" that players might think that you "died". But i think the correct statement that have triggred when you said "we are waisting your revitas" so here i am sayin, guys he didn't die.
2. I already edited the switching part that i have missed out which is REALLY essential in this argument.Hope that corrects the situation.
3. You feel used.

Let bygons be bygons. We will never be in the same party anyways. I am very sure you can find your perferct party of your own preference. So you wont be pissed off again.

U don't get it. Lol even now I still die and I will always will. Your previous construction made the the tank blames the dps for some reasons. It's evidences with the replies u got from others.

Your assumption You didn't like the "thought" that players might think that you "died". Again the killed took 3x longer we killed the first. That made me check the party members. There's a reason why I pick party members. Mostly for good proration but when the mage starts to ague that his cap mage is weaker than the one changed too which is lvl118+ something triggered me. Like the base where all his +% boost modier got much higher than his cap mage that I invited as he said the dps in the first place? Sorry fo being new in this game but please explain to me how.

 

I have tanked gem runs, strong event bosses, kept prorate going, holded aggro, added war cry for more party damage and also planning to soon add guardian lvl10 once I get enough star gems that + protection/aegis for reducing damage taken by party. Thats already 5 things out of your mentioned 7 things that I am able to do with characters that are not full VIT and ones which can do above decent damage when it comes to it. I even have smash and sonic wave which I sometimes play around with knux sub to get high flinch/tumble, recovery I dont feel like its necessary unless if its something like freeze or fear that cripples dps, for fear war cry is a better solution. And no dont give me the reason "Pure tanks can tank no revita" yeah they can but what about it? For me if the run becomes faster I would choose that instead of being picky about using potions. "Tanking multiple mini bosses" is debatable first we need to confirm if killing 8 mini bosses at once is actually faster than killing 3 of them at once thrice or 2 of them at once four times including the time for revisiting gb. Gem runs isnt even a valid point maybe after they fixed the random bug that doesnt make bosses stronger with gems but just makes them tankier then maybe. I have been a pure tank for almost 8-10 months in the past now and I still have a full CRT rest VIT tank (One of my many stupid experimental tanks) so I think I know what I am saying. Ever since they released pdef I am able to tank the strongest bosses with lesser and lesser HP than before.

I think I havent mentioned this before but this is completely MY SUBJECTIVE OPINION I personally dont feel the need of being a pure tank if I can do it just as well with a non pure/semi tank, like I have always strived to be more than just a tank. If you wanna use a pure tank feel free I couldnt care less, I wouldnt mind if you use a pure tank in the party in which I am either. I am just sick of people that complain and blame the party just because the battle is not going into their favour like dude will you really complain that much if you were playing with irl friends together. Recently I have been hearing nothing but bad rep about tanks which fueled the salt inside of me I guess.

 

I think Semi tanks can never compare to pure tanks, maybe tanking normal bosses is possible but have u tried tanking Jade ulti(remeber the event for 50 kills on jade ulti for 3 ava tickets i think)? Scary when angry event and empress 2 event :3 pure tanks are a necessity but yea not most of the time u can go around and tank even with a dps cara with no vit stat points(can tank mozto hard with zantei with my dps katana 4k hp xDD).

Switching to a different class without notifying your pt beforehand is crime!!!! xD not really but when u join a pt with a class, the lead and all members looks at ur class and lvl for obvious reasons :3 they expect things from your class to actually do its job. Most mems know which class can output how much damage So, when u switch from 140 bow to a 119 mage without notifying ur pt mems I dont blame someone to accuse you to be a luk mage(Another reason, many peeps actually do it, caught a mem actually doing it on imitacia when it was a pt of 2 snipes,1h tank,and 2h, it dies easily with snipes so the mem switch to mage while the attkr was was just a bit higher than the tank). You might actually arent a luk mage but an actual mage and u might do posses ele weap which is outputting more dmg that ur higher lvl class but does your other pt mem knows? they don't. So before switching to a different class always notify ur pt mem just for the mannerism and avoid someone suspecting you for pulling the pt down.

 

Oh yeah its empress after all >.> it does magic dmg and fraction only. So mage tanks are at a favourable spot. :3 Sheild mages can even tank bexiz ulti without any vit point. xD Did a glory there.

 

Both scary when angry and empress 2 were no big deal. For empress 2 you can even find some threads where I posted both tanker and attacker rank if you dig up old threads. Scary when angry doesnt even come close they nerfed empress real hard for it and the bosses itself were glassy. I wasnt very active during jade ulti and it was only there for like 1week iirc but I have tanked a gem run for nm there as well, yes I used some resistance equipment to make up for it still it doesnt mean its impossible. I can easily say any class that uses shield as sub weapon can do it like tank any boss with 50-100VIT if they know what they are doing, I have tanked jeila very hard a lot of times as well with my bg shield.

There was a time back in the day when they released shining gentleman at like 85-90 lvl cap I think. That boss was near impossible to survive with a DPS char coz the hp growth wasnt high, people didnt even max 1 stat to further add VIT, no good resistance/HP tank equipment, no p.def and so on. That time it was almost necessary to have a pure tank if you want to have any chance to properly farm it. The bosses they release these days dont even come close. The only reason people think bosses are tough is coz they dont do anything to get more survival. If I can be more tanky and survive I would spend 50-60 stat points and 15-20 skill points in exchange for an exchange of 10-20% of my damage done its really not that difficult
The meta has changed, back then having a pure tank was a necessity to farm some stuff but it is no longer the case.

 

yea i take back scary when angry and empress 2 >.> but i assure you with half tank there are many bosses not tankable try with imitator nm and there is probably way more than i can point out. I found a mage sheild tanking bexiz ulti at glory run with no vit points so basically a dps tanking. So just like a dps can tank...a semi tank can tank a bit bitter and a pure tank can tank a bit more better. :3 If a semi tank can tank all the bosses a pure tank does....they all will be making it. If u can create that movement go ahead xD show us the build in youtube and tank all possible bosses. ^^ It's not like i dont believe u :3 u taught me many things that i cant count, it just hard to believe~ ^^

Yeah, i solo scary angry as well with an archer and wasnt hard at all.But main reason i dont like semi tank is cuz i dont like to do both at same time(dps & tank).And you cant use full potential of either then. If i want to tank i use full tank, if i want just to dps i use archer with sneak.And i think thats the point of gaming hm? Having fun while playing

 

I was farming york hard, coz exp. I was a Zantei user, I felt that hasso would be replaced by far superior skills in march, so I decided, waiting is the best idea.
So being a zantei user, you know I need an aoe to deal damage, and I have a booster combo(Pulse>warcry >flash blast> meikyo) for buffing my zantei for max damage. I boosted and went in an aoe to nuke, but the tank saw me inside and used sonic wave.
I told him I needed to get it to make full use of Zantei, and then set up another booster combo, as they had run out. york came with a nuke while I was still boosting and killed me. :v

 

I am a Tank myself, but I even note that my build is experimental. The experiences I had before I switched to tank were... Ugh... This one "tank" who thought it a good idea to constantly run around, making it hard for the dps to stack damage (like storm). Or same tank who would dodge attacks by going to the mobs back, so the dps is now having to move.

I can understand certain frustrations about Tanks : o why I switched to Tank. I do request though, if the Tank asks for the boss to be staggered (stun, tumble, flinch) please do so : D (Tyrant, can't tell you how many times I had to request that, but people would get pissy with me because I was saying to stagger)

 

P.def+guardian+sanctuary= love magnet for katanas.

 

Ahaha yup... SG was nightmare back then.. considering top tier xtals were less than 1m SG really deserved the price of 10m lolol...

even our tank nut homie in the guild is now trying to build for more dps... P.def for survival, guardian for aggro and a lil bit of vit for unexpected things.... Daz all a tank needs now... if yer rich enough +S all gears and yer extremely tough

as for tator nm as long as you avoid or p.def that fractional aoe he can't kill you that easily... He also has slow animation so its easy to p.def or to avoid

I have even tanked tator nm halfway as a mononofu with only 6k hp (cuz the tanker dced ahaha)
He provides better exp than his 126 counterparts so we always farm him for exp...

On note(for boss not to tublr or flinch)

Some tank really dont wear this IM0, that why some procrate been bad and make the boss guard,sleep etc

Better used,Steeplejack talisman is a good ring,or eq that have atribute so we dont rumble or flinch
Eq that have mtl and other type resistance
Coz many go dps ,full crut, full vit eq,...

Coz of the damm frag atack sometime more vit def and m def is useless
Go pr and mr or ele resistance

 

I have been summoned to this thread where tanks are allegedly getting bashed. In all fairness most tanks met in game pretty much suck. But I myself am a well respected tank amongst peers and almost every pt ive ever tanked for(no one is perfect). Also want to put it out there that aggro shifting pretty much screws over many people so yeah no awkward aggro switching and boss nukes while you or team mate are mid combo is nice.
I just want to make a few statements about tanking in general:
1.A tank can use whatever tf pots they want(rev5 gives more hp than eb and osechi pretty much saves lives in a pinch for full vit tanks) do whatever your budget allows '-'
2. Although my main tank is currently under construction(again) I love tanks and have experimented with multiple builds some of which revolve around dps-oriented builds. You can be a "pure" tank and contribute to dps if thats your wish
3.Tanking comes down to a science at higher tier bosses:
a.Control where is the best place on the map to have the boss
b.never take hits you dont have to take
c.keep your pots UP if you need them(made 2 builds that didnt use pots)
d.always be aware of what and where your teammates are and keep the damn boss AoEs directed away from them or warn them of dangerous aoes from bosses like imitacia if you are also breaker
e.direct atk fractionals can usually be stopped by knockback *wink*
4.If your whole pt dies its your fault
5.you DO NOT have to spam skills or be a breaker in order to be a tank. Thats a practice of newer tanks and well...breaker tanks(although breaker tanks still dont need to spam)
