I agree that add gear is the hardest to refine xD it took me awhile to even get to E for slotted lol

Well I was certainly thinking the same thing recently. Some ns weps are a pain to even get to C, which I didn't use to feel was true

For weapon is a multipier of its Base attack
While armor and Addition add 1% of resistance at each level

 

By refining weapons adds the weapon attack by % of refine values. Means that weapon attack 200 refined to 5 will add 5% of 200 that is 10 to the weapon attack. So basically it increases attack. Values starts from 1 to 9 then 10 we say +E, 11 is +D, 12 is +C, 13 is +B, then +A then +S the last one adds whopping 15% weapon attack. For a normal dps char +B refine is enough.

For sub, armour and additional it adds resistance against physical, magical and fractional damages. It adds the resistance by % of refine values. Means armour refined to +5 will add 5% resistance against physical, magical and fractional. For Tanks char it is necessary to refined to highest value possible. For Dps +E is fine cuz u have to survive in battles only to spam combos.

Actually its more complicated than that.
If +S was just +15% weapon atk I would NEVER try to get it lol 15% is not whopping at all.
+S is actually +225% weapon atk +15 weapon atk.
It is +(15^2)% and +15 flat similiar to that +A is +(14^2)% that is +196% weapon atk +14 weapon atk. A 200 weapon atk 2h when +S would give 465 additional ATK.

Armor/add/shield refine on the other hand gives resist equal to the refine number not square of it.

 

Just don't spam when it still hard for raise to+B. If u feel not lucky after hit hammer multiple times, just stop n do it for tomorrow ^^

Your tutorial was one hell of a tutorial. It did really helped me a lot.
I never take refine so seriously that I drain my entire spina on making it B. I also saw u did +S on single try. EPICC!

 

I felt that too refining is getting harder.
