    Hello everyone!

I've been in the game for 2 hours and I should say, I'm enjoying it. The story wasn't that compelling, but good enough for a standard mobage. I'm currently holding my 2H sword nicely and about to slay the fallen dragon Decel. Wish me luck on fighting him!

Anyway, I kinda curious, how did you guys spending your early days life in Toram? what weapon do you pick and why? How did you get (and spent) your spina? Any advices for beginners like me?

The game is like every other MMORPG, it's all about numbers if you are trying for the top. I'd say try to enjoy the game rather than being top dog.

If you face the flare volg first time. RUN! Go back to mochelo's handler(yes, the girl near volg entrance) "talk" to her and ask for help. You will thank me later, and i dont wanna spoil sumthing special. Good luck!

Ganbate! When I started I didn't quite follow the main quest.. I explored and went as far as I could go, often being chased by mobs.. To make money I farmed stuff to sell to npc got invited to a guild who showed me how to farm Nisel woods and Bitter nuts for a side quest for faster leveling and selling (They forgot to mention why I was being poisoned every time I went into Nisel Mountain.) I made a mage because from prior youtube research it looked fun, and very versatile. (Boss fights, farming mobs) I crafted all my gears from npc after looking at the description at Zaldo's place. I scrounged up enough money for mats for a twilight dress, and a night cap which came in handy. Later on I learned I could farm Philosopher's rings which further helped my growing mage.

Yup, enjoying it right now~ And I hope it's stayed that way

I don't really like mage. Do I have any better choice for farming outside of being mage? Anyway, thanks for the advice. Especially about orbs and books.

Yup, enjoying the game. I have no intention of being top dog or top lvl DPS or something. Ideally, I just want to have a life in toram without being forced to farm for hours to "enjoy" the game.

Hmm.. I haven't reached the flare volg part. I hope for something nice from this advice, Thanks!

Aw, such a happy life! For some reason I just can't handle mage-like characters (perhaps because I love to be up front with the enemies?). I guess I should start exploring other part of the map. I wonder if I can fight the wolf on the tutorial again?

The mage I started with was derived from D.SongTorams build a front line mage. I later tried making a staff-fu mage (staff knuckle) that used magic for proration and knuckles for damage. This game is great that way you're not locked in to a class or subclass. Today its even easier to experiment if you have spina thanks to all the stargems that gives any char you own abilities not commonly used or for the lack of skill points could not be normally acquired.

You don’t have to make a mage right away. Just have fun fighting bosses and regular monsters with your 2H - you can learn the mechanics that way. I personally started the game with knuckles and just meandered through the different maps. Fought non-MQ bosses around my level (+/-4)... then eventually did main quest for the extra exp bonuses. Toram has a pretty good background music track and enough variety in map design that it’s nice to look at.

Once you get to level 70 on your main, you unlock tier 3 skills for all of your characters. You get 4 character slots for free (3 near the beginning. 1 later on for finishing chapter 6 of the main quest or so) — and as you level up, you unlock extra stat points/skill points/exp% bonuses from emblems. It makes leveling up later characters a lot easier than the first one.

When you decide to make a side mage, have it max luck. This serves as an easy farming character with the tier 3 skill Storm. With an okay Magic Device/Staff, it allows you to farm items like bitter nuts and nisel wood for quest leveling and selling.

Last note: I recommend looking at the site coryn.club for anything item drop/blacksmith recipe/monster related. It tells you the effects of any item as well as a handy leveling tool.

Events in this game are pretty fun as well. Usually a good source for leveling or equipment.

e: if you like the game enough to continue later on and want to get into the costume/fashion aspect of it, make a full TEC character with one of your extra character slots. This can serve as your alchemist which can make recipes like revitas and do the 3lock system (basically choosing dyes/appearances/stats of armors, additional gears, and weapons). Read the different guides in the Game Guide section/Production Class to learn more if you’re curious.

Yes, and no. With centuries gap, "you" in toram is not "you" in iruna. You definately not an immortal in iruna nor spent the time gap inside an ice cube.

Play iruna first and then combine the story with toram online then you will understand the connection between those two games.
    I'm playing both games anyway.:p

Until you reach lvl70, don't put 10 points on any skill except passives skills. Trust me and you'll save your oblivion book

Upvote for having a target to make a TEC character. Synthesis (aka combining appearance and stats ) will give you a fun time searching for your favorite equipments. 2 lock is sufficient at early game for use and for selling some equipment appearance.

Oh my, Probably the best advice I heard in a while, lol.
So, yea, I just finish off Decel and I about to start the 2nd chapter. I think I'll hold the MQ and try to explore places around and see if anything interesting. I probably gonna take on Minotaur since people asking his skin for a reason unknown to me, But since it's a boss that I can take within my level, probably I will take him on.

There is few aspects of this game that I like and I'll sure gets my hand down to those when I "fall" deep enough with this game as I progress. Until then, I'll just bash monsters around my level and see how it goes.

Other notes: I just found that 2H had terrible accuracy and relies heavily on crits to land a hit (which also resulted in graze as a it-didn't-hit-much-because-it's-actually-missed mechanic), this game seems hates melee attacks, lol

I.. dunno, It seems I just can't play magic-type weapons just yet. Maybe this game gonna change that's perspective of mine?

Hmm.. So far I only unlocked Hard hit and Astute. I haven't unlocked anything else.

There is 1 PC MMOJRPG that could do this. Mostly done by NPC. If I can do this as players, this would be even better for me.

    Sadly I don't.

Glad that my advice helped. Personally I find mage boring in comparison to the different melee classes in this game, but it carries a number of benefits with it. 1) magic always hits. Melee has to deal with graze and attacks missing (as you’ve already noticed), which is annoying with higher difficulty bosses and high dodge ones such as Forestia. You can fix this with melee by getting crit rate from things such as player-started equipment, skills such as Crit Up from the battle tree/boosts from things like Astute, crysta, etc. 2) magic balances out physical/auto attack proration: one of the main battle mechanics that increase/decrease your damage. There are enough explanations about it on this forum that you can look up.

If you manage to get to level 150, then mages get a pretty powerful skill called Finale. Don’t worry about it though. Hard hit is tier 1 and astute tier 2 skills for 2H by the way. As I said earlier, you unlock tier 3 at level 70. There’s a skill guide list in one of the other sub forums that details the mechanics behind all the moves if you’re curious.

People farm Minotaur because of its skins. One of the good early ways to make spina for newbies if you farm in a party - a stack of 99 sells for ~150k at the moment. The skins are used for one of Lefina’s quests to make anti-degradations, items used for the refining mechanic. Basically upgrades your gear attack/defense resistance on a 1-15 scale and can be done with a full TEC character to B (aka +13). It’s more of a late-game thing to worry about.

There is an NPC that can do synthesis (at the alchemist), but the service fee is ridiculous. It’s much more economical to do it yourself. Plus it lets you turn non-tradable items into tradable ones (or the appearance/“app” at least; same with equipment dyes). You can then sell popular ones such as black dye or event gear for a lot of spina because vanity drives the economy here.

I'll take a look on this. This proration things is still new to me. I know about the damage decay of the same attacks, but about prorate is something I need to learn about.

I'll be getting lvl70 first and see what I could do from there. but importantly, I need get good equips and knowing the mechanic first

Hmm.. I think I'll take this kind of farming. Boss hunting farm is always excite me. Not to mention it's also part of a side-quest and gives good prize.

Hmm.. I guess I know what I will make for living in this game..;);)

I would wear tracksuit with a grocery bag in my hand, got some money but it's just paper here then get beaten up by thugs to remind me that Toram is PG13 version of Dark Souls
