Do they farm it? And where? Or do they just buy it directly from market or npc?

You can get them from event bosses too.

Just buy it at the npc.
No one has time for farming that.

It is better for now to buy your ori at the NPC because it's more expensive at the cb. Farming ori ore from mobs is not really recommended due to the extremely low drop rate. If you want to farm it, then you're better off farming at event bosses and seele.

EDIT: change ori ore to ori [thanks Thimble74 for pointing out the mistake :)]

If you plan on upgrading stuffs, it is better to just buy from npc. Ori ores are just used to open up them 5lock synth. If you can bypass the ori ore process to level up prof that you can process ori(not as ore) it will be tad cheaper overall.

I usually buy from NPC General Stores, but if there are cheaper ones in CB I'd buy those.

Well this is an eye opener, so that's why i never seen party's farming it. Thanks guys.

Another question tho? At what point should i use orichalcum(HP or not?) for refining? is it ok for :
    c to b for NS
    e to b for 1s

It's okay to start from e with ori. Lesser ores would have a tougher time refining from that point. As for hpo, use it from c-b if feel aren't getting it with normal ori. Though I feel the cost to success ratio is about the same compared to normal ori.
