I've completed the MQ with multiple chars, I have a 2H at 138, a TEC BS bow at 136, and a LUK mage at 135. I'm stuck trying to level after the MQ. I'm a solo player, I like to do stuff myself and make everything myself. Right now I know my equipment isn't up to par and that's why I can't progress leveling. So I started farming materials to try to make some equipment for my 2H, but realized farming mana takes forever for crit gear. (I've been farming at Cassy, I've read that's the fastest) So I decided I'll try out a mage, since from what I'm seeing it doesn't need crit gear so I can farm other faster materials to create better gear for my mage. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Is it just that I'm trying to solo a game that can't be soloed? I mean I use mercenaries, accompanies, and pets.

I can't manage any bosses or minibosses that will give me any experience, and like I said I'm trying to solo. So it's just a matter of I'm trying to solo a game that can't be soloed.

Well, it is an Mmo. If you only wanna solo, and also dont like bosses, just stick to normal mobs. You can lvl to around 160, as mobs highest lvls I have seen end at about 155ish.

You are having a very very hard time to solo miniboss that equal to your level. Both because you are lacking of equipment and tier 4 skill (lv 150+) to do so. For 138, there are parties at Builder Golem. You can try solo that miniboss as you wish, it just going to take a long while for a little 2% xp. Or search on coryn for boss option if you want, you might be able to hold off some easy/normal boss for 1% xp ea.

Though you can search coryn again for normal mobs, they going to be like 0.05~0.1% ea but that seem to be viable option for you

Here is my personal lvling list I have been using for my chars that have finished the mq with mobs grinding (to reach lvl 150):
    Your chars from lvl:

137 to 140: shark wolf, curonne forest north, area 2

141 to 142: sanctuary guardian, shrine of the gods, area 4

143 to 149: sanctuary guardian, hall of special gods

There is also stone at forgotten cave with quite high exp but I don't like the narrow & dark map, and there is silveria at elf mountain but they are harder to kill.

I had a bad experience while lvling with a random pt at builder golem, so I decided to lvl alone with mobs only until at least lvl 150. Like you, I use mercs, accompanies, and pets for lvling. Hope this helps ^^

You can try to do "free from the infester" quest from garden of the beginning npc. You are required to kill 2 kinds of mob, 20 each. A lot of players doing that quest so it will be easy to find party.

Make sure to use light-element storm or dive impact hb for easier kill.

The reward is 15m exp for fully stacked quest. Good amount of exp to reach lv150 and unlock skill lv4.

Solo is possible, lot of people do that just party save time.
For your current status, don’t go for player craft item, it’s just a waste of money & time and it’s won’t give you much damage on your build, beside player craft weapon have minor support on stat like HP+, MP+, ASPD+ or etc.

The best equipment you can get now should be Lil Empress Set, the NPC lil weapon come with Critical, ATk+ and Hp+ , and the armor have Mp+ and PM resistant which solve the problem on Mp shortage and def in earlier stage.

you don’t need go to solo lil empress to get the material, just go Athema farm King Potum and sell the Xmas Box or King Potum Crystal.
You also can sell the Xmas Stocking(need 30 box) in CB, it’s still worth to sell. Then use the money earn to buy lil empress material, the material always exist because lil empress is one of the Famous boss for leveling.

this game is soloable, if you know the right gears you need to get to achieve it. for all your chars, you can lvl at mini boss builder golem it's level 138. You get exp bonus since u're inbetween +-9 lvls from the mini boss. or you get higher exp bonus if you can solo nightmare/ulti bosses within 9 lvls of your level but BG is a fairly squishy boss, i can essentially solo it and have carried lots of my guildies helping them lvl. I personally don't lvl my luk mage, it's currently sitting at lv130 for the last few years lol...i really only use my luk mage to grind mats (usually mob mats) for my BS chars.

Toram is more like understanding how the calculation works (skill, crit, resist, combo, etc) rather than actual gameplay (normal hit couldn't be dodged, the blue and red circle are pretty much the same for majority of bosses and mini bosses) .

You could found almost 95% bosses and mini bosses are solo able with enough gear and maybe a little bit of experience. After that, it is pretty much hard grind (which is super boring if you solo it)

Is it the matter of time, or is it the matter of fun?
    Your choice

Personally, if I don't want to party up with others I'd farm for spina to get better gears. Mage is a good choice to both farm for mats and to level your character while you're farming for spina. Then again, you're missing out like half of the fun of being in parties. Mages pretty much reliant on parties with finale. I love to play in parties because I can give supports to others. Also to flex

I always solo until the last quest for MQ, and afterwards I go for the long grind.

But personally, I love partying up and level at minibosses. Its the fastest way and parties you find are not too picky. Plus, you don't have to revive to town (if you run out of droplets.)

It's not easy to solo, unless you have a character with superior gear and have already unlocked tier 4.

If you feel awkward at being in parties, trust me most parties I've been with don't pressure you into a conversation. Just do your part, get familiar with bosses, and your set.

I have to ask... if you want to play pretty much exclusively solo and are trying to avoid doing things with others or getting things from others, then why play a MMORPG? It's a multiplayer game, thus it is heavily designed to function as such. Being solo is possible, but you'll always be a step behind because a decent party is always faster and more efficient than soloing no matter how strong you are. Toram is NOT a game with quality gameplay and a good story. Toram is a game of RNG, fashion, chatting, partying, and grinding events. If you want to solo, there are SO many other better solo games of many genres. If you want to screw around with a cute multiplayer phone game, I recommend Toram. But not for the former. Don't get me wrong, I love playing solo on Toram every now and then, but it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me when people on MMOs are trying to play pretty much entirely solo. Why not play a quality solo game?
The other repliers are right, with enough work, you can earn spina to buy gears and level as you please. But it will be much slower. Find a quality game that suits your tastes and playing styles, because it seems like a MMO doesn't fit that criteria.

I don't try to avoid doing things with others, I just don't want to level with a group, I like to level solo. I have my own guild and speak with my guild members, so I'm not avoiding the multiplayer aspect, it's just the partying that I don't partake in.

    Ruins of Mt. Mithurna 138 - 150

9k++ attack mercenary and it will take 1-2 hours per level w/o exp boost.

If that being the case. You can also tame and train pets to their fullest potential. They are more versatile and useful than mercenaries because of growth and skill usags. Here's hoping in future updates, Mercenaries can actually use skills.

Summershells and the Sakura Crystals are the fastest way to get mana mats. Though they only appear during Summer and Hanami, respectively. Summershells are tradeable though.

If being a solo player is not the case, you can grind little boar for energy bottle and process it into mana. IMO it's much faster than grinding cassy since lots of people are farming eb.

You could also take quest at el scaro to defeat metal stinger.
The quest name is drunk mistake
The npc place is at the right side of entrance, you need to go up stairs a little.
    Take all the three quest.
You need to defeat 100 metal stinger (lv80) to earn 3m exp
Of course there are party on the desert. But you can opt to solo metal stinger.

Make a mage finale with 255 int, some dex, and vit. (You still have a slot right?)
Do mq -> Do Free from Infester sq until lv150 (then lv up your entire chars with the same way) -> unlocking 4th tier skill is the key -> You can start to farm miniboss like Commander Golem (155) or something suit to your lv -> Don't rush on your lv, I meant that will take a long progress since minibosses give less exp than main bosses -> Learn to solo main boss, I think you need to understand the boss mechanics and patterns first before deeper stats. Pro chars with a nub gameplay is useless, I experienced a lot with parties but some of them keep dying and dying again. I know it's hard for us esp newbies to find a party at the beginning of playing Toram. I asked some ppl to help mq and none answer me, that's why I play solo did everything solo. I refuse all kind of help for now but I'll help nubies to do mq or pt farm if its nearby. You can also ask me for help when I have free time (current server Eng).

With new map mobs being in level 160s, a solo player could easily get to level 170 solo, without ever needing to fight a boss. Albeit a little slow, its much easier solo farming normal mobs..
