Hi all, sorry for my bad English.
Well this is not a complaint but there's a phenomenon that is happening currently. I'm more interested talking this in a Psychological perspective.
You know, my parents told me that if there's someone helping you out, you need to say thank you. Even when bad things happen, we need to say thank you. Thank you is a magical words, that used not only in personal setting but also in professional setting.
    What about in Toram?
Well I play toram for more than 6 years, and in early days players said thank you after they done playing in a party. It is a form of appreciation to another player, that help us in leveling or farming. Remember, it is us how ask for help in form of LFP (looking for a party).
But currently, there's no ty for pt saying after done the leveling or farming. Player just left. I don't know why, but it happens occasionally. One of the reason is probably a mindset, "it is just a game". Yes it is, but doesn't other player help you out progressing the game by inviting you in a party? (remember, you ask for it).
Or, in individual terms, you as an individual and as a player perhaps looking other player as a "thing"? If yes, it is sad, because our values reflects on how we behave. So if we as an individual thinks that saying thank you is not necessary, we don't have the rights to ask for help from other people (in this case, LFP - just play solo till drop).
Another phenomenon that I observe is when being revived, player not saying thank you. Or even they don't bother if other players are defeated. They just stood there, not helping. So in the end, I am questioning the player's sense of humanity.
But the real question is, Why? Why the players change so much? Does DPS is the only thing in their mind? If yes, than we eliminate humanity when doing the things that we like. If no, is there any other reason?

Well, I'm very curios with this phenomenon and I'm hoping to get an answer from other players.
    Cheers!

there are quite many mobile games out there with auto-party systems. vacant slots are filled by NPCs and talking is completely unnecessary.
if it is even possible. i've once played a game where party communication would have been very helpful but there was no option to do so other than blinking a limited selection of emojis.

another factor are players mindsets and the youtube guides promoting those.
like "don't play, don't have fun, this is obsolete and useless. go there, do that, type this in chat, and then you'll be lv200 and have a million spinas."
one time i found a newbie guide which promoted leeching just because it works.

Everybody was raised differently, so we can't demand people to have the decency and be polite.

There is also a slim possibility that the person is preoccupied and forgot to say so.

You're lucky you can consider yourself one of the good guys, but you can be better, by acting in kindness but never expecting gratitude in return.

    ^_^

Would be nice to have a pop-up emoji on top of our heads, like action + big vein anime balloon when out of combat and just the anime balloon while mid combat. So a tank can express distress while mid combat that they are losing grip on their aggro coz some douche can't hold their spam.

I'd like to put the blame on those YouTube channels that promote endless leeching, making people focus only on doing DPS and blinding them with impossible screenshot numbers for these mentalities that is becoming prevalent in toram. I primarily play a healer tank mage so I myself have seen my fair share of d-heads that cannot seem to exhibit a single shred of decency and etiquette. It is because of all these people thinking that they should do these content as fast as possible as if racing for a nonexistent leaderboard.

    Wow, thanks for the comment,
After reading the comments, the temporary conclusion is the player mindset that change. Other is, wrong role model (usually based on what Youtuber's promote to get rank, or DPS, and billions of Spina).
Yeah, well just like I said, I'm not complaining. It is just a matter of curiosity. I can't change every individual and don't want to be a good guy, but I like to help - except helping a leecher. Don't ever bored to say thank you in every situation.

I actually don't care much about DPS (well I am new, so I can't say I will never care about it, but each time I play a game I usually care more of how I have fun with it rather than how to be strong and OP in it), and I'm quite sad to hear that's how the state of partying in toram..

I have been playing solo ever since I started, and not because I avoid people or anything.. it is more because I can't even find a party that willing to talk to me...
People sometimes invite me to their party while I was hunting, so I approached them to say hi and ask what's their goal (whether its just leveling or looking for specific drop from a certain monster in the map) but no one answers me thus I never joined the party..

I do personally think that saying thank you would be something that part of common courtesy whether they end up as your party or just politely decline..
But as others have said as well everyone has their own rights on how to act and react to things, and I think by keep doing it ourselves we can gather people that has similar conduct/beliefs with us, and that way maybe you will be more comfortable around them as well ^^

I was thinking about this concept, too. Why wouldn't the devs release overhead emoji/stickers which could benefit them (+revenue) and the players as well (+route of communication)?

Also, probably some people have laggy keyboards (like me when I was playing in a 32-bit phone) which might be the reason for not typing nor saying "thank you" or "ty pt" etc. etc. I personally experienced this and I thought that rushing my leave would be a better decision than waiting forever for my turtle keyboard to pop-up and wasting my party members' precious time (some of them probably uses orb item books especially when leveling).

I also teamed-up with few players who seem to be new in the game and might've chosen Toram as their first MMORPG. They don't know (yet) the norms nor taboos, and appropriate nor rude. I just let them be so that they will have one less reason to quit the game forever (toxicity, even just by -0.01%)

I just keep in my mind that not all leech players are veterans—most of them might be newbies trying to explore the game and its systems. I prefer telling others what to do, not what they shouldn't do (except on "don't tumble Cerberus pls" or something alike).

Some people also leave a party immediately because of something really unpleasant happened such as they got defeated 3 times in a row, which is quite understandable because of the accumulated disappointment.

IMO, it might be due to the robotic nature of farming and micromanaging tons of stuff, especially if you delve in the market often, where all you see is numbers and profits. I also dislike how there are quite a few toxic people nowadays, when back then, before I quit after the Grand Wipe(as I like to call it), people were super nice to newbies, and people who didn't bother wouldn't throw out unnecessary insults. Most often, a simple question such as 'where is ruined temple town?' would get you multiple people explaining where it is. Now? A bunch of elitists would come mocking you and telling you to get lost. Glad that a lot of people that I meet are still very kind or at least not offending, but this worries me, especially when it's a game like this with cutsie aesthetics.

Totally.. I'm just a newbie and asking something cause I don't understand it was something I won't do outside my guild chat now, cause of how mean people are towards it.. Some of the are even calling me names, just because I don't understand the abbreviation that they are using ._.)

Imagine actual human beings feeling superior because they know some shit about a video game. It's actually pretty pathetic, but then again, life goes on. I just help out newbies when possible, and I wouldn't mind going the extra mile after I get somewhat op. Enough of us and these social wastes will fade out. Hopefully.
