    HI!

I've leveled, equipped, and retired many a brawler build. I find them to be on par with a multiple stat sword and board in that they are not overpowered in the least.

I DO so love evasion though!

So all this time (really, an embarrassing amount of time) I've been donking with brawlers and brawler appropriate gear, I realize-

WHAT THE BLEEPING BLEEP IS DODGE?!

I believe that 'flee' and 'evasion' to be synonymous, or as near so as to make no difference. Not a clue as to dodge. I am sincerely hoping it's the most obvious thing in the world. That someone can point out how obvious it is and corresponding feel helpful or superior (looking at you, Faust). Don't care! Making me nutty that there is a relevant mechanic to the idiot builds I play with (many are WAY idiotic, see 0AGI knuckle build) and that I am still so very in the dark.

Help the blind see. Or at least share that there is nothing to see here and that I should move along. Thanks. Smileyface. And create.
Also, sorry. I meant this posted in general discussion. My bad.

Now, I'm not a pro in this game by any means, but I have noticed some details that lead to my way of thinking.
Note: I play a knuckle user.

From the time I've been fighting, I've noticed that "flee" has a direct correllation to how often you "dodge" an attack (flee may just be their word used to describe "dodge" stat). However, there is also another type of avoiding mechanic known as "evade/evasion". If you play with stats that both have these two types of avoiding skills, you'll notice that a "dodge" is different from an "evade". The animation for a dodge is non-existent while an "evade" animation slides your character backwards. When dodging, from my experience, it's only possible to avoid physical-type attacks. However, when evading, its possible to avoid both physical and magical based attacks/spells.
In addition, the butterfly ribbon gives bonuses that upgrade both your dodge and your evade at the same time, which means they are seperate factors.

These examples lead me to believe this theory. A "dodge" is a mechanic that can be used to avoid physical attacks, and can be enhanced by stat allocation. An "evade" is a seperate mechanic that can avoid both physical and magical attack, but is a fixed percentage based on the gear bonuses you have, since there is no stat allocation to increase it.

    I hope this helps.

Cool. I like it. Sold. Taken at face value! I am just thoroughly burnt with this trial and error. Update please before bordem drives me to sword and board builds.

Your lucky somebody explained it for me. I was getting pretty annoyed at reading the problem,s you were encountering. Flee is dodge. In stats. Evade is different from dodge. It dodges skills also i think. So if for example you have 70%+ dodge and 50-70% evade. Dont expect getting hit by anything at all. I suggest you read my brawler guide. Or get the armor skill tree from library and get the light armor mastery passive. I heard it boost,s your evade by quite a bit. Dont know the exact value though.
