@Alma I was replying to Asatu, it sounds like you have a group of fun people to play with. And if you're the healer then I like you. Too many people take healers for granted and I salute you for doing the hard work.

Imo, what people really need to do is learning the boss/mini boss mechanic. Maybe not all, but most of the boss have patterns, this red linear will follow up with red circle etc. Especially, for melee classes like 2h, and please stop using that loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong combos for god sake. Mb can still dealt good dmg with 110% or 130% smite, and if they cant handle high mp combo as 2h, there must be something wrong with them. They also can try to not using rampage/berserk/reflex/meikyou, if they are not strong enough to "tank".

 

I have struggler on my bishop. Its passive is matk up with vit.

When I was in chapter 2, a L150 2h died in viscum then died again in 2nd boss so I told him to use vita plus and he replied, f*** you. Then, I kicked him.

 

You'll only lose 39 attack and 4% Stability and I guess 39 hit if you add 40 Vit. I think it's a good trade off for not dying in one hit. You can be the best player in the world but just 1 unlucky moment would turn you into dead weight.

Also if you only really need skill to not die, why do people even use Iconos? Just slap york/guignol in there for more dps because you'll die in 1 hit anyway.

I'm a 2h user too, my stats are full str> 50 vit> the rest are dex. I also give priority to my hp and defenses as well, although I only have 2k attack... I'm kinda good with it for now because I'll admit I don't have 2s gears and the likes (I'm just poor lol). But I guess we all have different tastes when it comes to building chars. Those who chose to have high damage output but too squishy might try to practice dodging aoe and spam those pots and vitas. hahaha

 

A dps char that takes in all hits while continuing to attack is whats called true dps imo not ones that run around or get a heart attack every time they see a red bar on the floor or an "!" sign.
Dps that continues to attack without worrying about dying always wins compared to a one that needs to constantly move away from the boss. Its at least true for melee fighters like katana and 2h. Your statement might be true for long rangers/archers which almost never have to worry about getting hit unless they get aggro it might also be true for certain bosses which do not use many red aoes or the ones that use fractionals.
I prefer soloing bosses as a past time so you can say I am biased.

I've seen tons of katanas and bows die, even with a tank as times (they somehow vacuum up all the aggro)

I partied with 2h who took atk vs 2 finalle users. The game is not our traditional mmorp that skills are locked and limited to what class we chose. That made the game more unique and more fun with this crazy experimentation of hibrid builds. Im always in to sticking on what roles you are expected to do and maximizing its fullest potentials provided you can afford it while having the ability to adapt in certain situations.

• gears are can be used by anyone if we need a bit of hp for extra survive ability preventing 1hit rip so theres room for the use of revitas/energy bottles.
• we can construct/adjust combo depending on what party required (shorter if no tank)(go rampage as you pleased when there tank for their skill can provide you bit ease the worry)
• every boss got its own patterns programmed of atks. learn it, play with it, adapt to it buy modifying your combos. weather its normal/hard/nightmare/ultimate mode, the patterns all same.

The problem with most dps is theres a universal gears, combo, playstyle they use for everything. they wont sacrifice a bit less dmg for a bit of survive ability by changing gears. The game is programmed how stuffs fight. it wont adopt to anyone, we should be the one to adapt.
I dont have a DPS but for me my DPS be like pushing my stat points to its highest potential as far as dmg delivery is concerned (stats that will raise base where my +% gears, xtals, etc be getting their bonuses) and ill just adapt on various boos situation, party construction, boss difficulty, playstyle.

The 3 bullets hard to achived if player:
- got his lvl via NC not even fighting anything lacks the experience
- copy paste builds (other build may ends up not comfortable for everyone) discover the class by your own.
- cant construct/dont understand how to create combo
being total ignorant how to play the class despite being high lvl with an OP gears

You would lose more attack by sacrifising gears for hp rather than dex for vit on 2 handed.

But I don't think it hurts to let loose a few points in damage for a bit more survivability in the event the tank dies or you get aggro
I've been made to tank with my HB and although I'm not a wall kind of tank I've been able to do a mix of both
Rank-wise I'm sure it's important yeh but still you lose time if you die to a random aoe (bosses like Deniala turn the map into all blues xd)

 

yes it doesn't hurt. and nothing is wrong by putting vit its more like a personal preference. I just thought vit gave HP + def (for auto atks). auto attacks in game are meh, HP may came from many source (add/armor/rings/xtals/potions) but the stats i think is the thing irreplaceable coz like what i said it will be added to your stats as based which will be use for +% stuffs. anyways i understand the rant and i do agree whether its by adding vit via stats or by any means of getting extra survive ability, DPS should deliver. A lvl120 decent geared dps who do 100k be better vs a capped DPS who can do 300k with full 2s+S but always dying ending up not delivering damage at all.

 

not all got 2slot rings. whats the usual rings for 2H? avatars? potions? vit will give you DEF not MDEF to reduce linear/circular/floor/aoe skill atks

 

Also katana users need to stop acting so full of themselves
