I'm tired. Tired of life and tired of school, but I won't do suicide, my life is too precious for that.

Instead I want to change my life to excitement, fun and competition.

It will be a hard journey that I haven't even started yet, I may not reach my goal that I've yet to find.

Help me find a goal dear toram friends!

What should I do with this life that continously search for something new to read, watch and play but can't find anything good enough?

(This is actually probably a thread about me complaining, you can answer my questions or complain yourself. Jusr do what you want. Doesn't sound like complaining right?)

I'm actually thinking of doing that after high school, half a year working and the rest half traveling. After that College/University.

Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Egypt, US, Canada, Brazil(maybe) and UK. Maybe Filipinos and Indonesia.

Not much planned yet so feel free to suggest, have at least two years left before I leave to travel the world.

Can't say much about the countries you just mentioned except one. And what I have to say about it is: bring a repellent.

Brazil: nowadays, mosquitoes are abundant there, and they pack quite a bit of diseases. At least, that's what I heard; been quite a while since the last time I went there, so I'm not that well-informed.

Actually guessed that you meant Brazil's mosquitoes, but I will bring repellent to every country I visit, as well as sun cream.

You're still young! Keep trying different things till you find something that clicks. Traveling is great but keep in mind that's a very big goal and you have a plethora of smaller smaller goals you need to achieve. You need to think yourself and how you are going to survive. A minimum wage job will not give you enough spare expenses for traveling. You have to pay to live under a roof, you have to pay for food, you have to pay to get around locally you have to pay for knowledge.

I cannot accentuate this more but Stay In School. College/Uni is your bridge to a career. College/Uni is where you find your niche and where you meet others with similar and different interests. You just cannot get anywhere in life without a degree or contacts because that's the way the job market is at the moment in the U.S. If you're not in the US, it probably holds the same idea. You can't be tired of school because you need that to survive in life. Some people use the Internet as their getaway from their personal issues in the real world be it neglect, anxiety or depression. We all have gone through this experience but this getaway is ephemeral.

Make a study group with people who are interested in the class you're in. Hang out with them and study. Be friends with people of the opposite sex because it will make you self conscious and will make you think of different ideas and see many things differently. This social experience is amazing and will last you a long time. Because you will learn how to communicate with words and actions.

Get a salaried job and once you can afford 10 round trips to somewhere, take 1 round trip somewhere and enjoy and experience it maybe with someone else.
But you can't do that without finishing school. So stay in school. :)

Also! Exercise clears your mind off pretty much everything. A lot of my co-workers go running so they come back with a fresh idea at the project. Run with someone and talk to them! You learn new things and clear your mind at the same time!

Ok thx, I know all this but it isn't only studies that get you connections, traveling can do that to.

If I travel I want to travel to see different countries and maybe make some kind of impact. My travels are gonna be for experience.

You know right that there is a possibility to go to another country to study for a year or a half in College/University.

You can't travel without the money. That's why college is the better option. If you do well enough in High School some colleges will pay for your whole tuition. Apply for scholarships and grants. Traveling is very risky without a stable income. College and internships gets you anywhere and everywhere, browse Quora and look at advice there. It's amazing. If traveling IS what you want to do, you still need to finish school first. c: So since you have to go there, might as well make the best of it!

If it is about work, I have no worries because I have some places considered already where the pay is good. In the worst case I could make a program that I could sell. I could also make Imaging Online too book version and sell that if the need arises.

No. You can't consider the companies where pay is good. THEY consider you. If you don't meet their qualifications, then you don't get the interview, you don't get the job. Even if you get the interview still high likely chance you don't get the job. I had to go through five interviews for one job.

Programming. No. Can you make a product that people would buy? Even if you have the idea, you need to have a process. Even if you have a process, you firstly need to know certain languages well which is 10 - 15 years of senior development and working on a team. Sure you can work on github OS projects and start a community. Many do, but you don't get paid. EVEN if you make a product you think is good, you need to advertise it. You need to have a website with a convincing splash. To do that, you need to have web development experience and digital/visual art experience. EVEN if you have a website, you need to have people to invest. And to have people to invest you need people to know about your service. The list goes on and on and on..

Publishing a book? Do you know how many people try to get their books published and get rejected?
"Publishing is a competitive and low profit business, and no publisher can afford to pay people to read manuscripts. Some publishers no longer look at unsolicited manuscripts – they simply return them if postage is provided, or shred them if it isn’t. Where they do look at manuscripts, it will only be the professionally presented ones – perhaps half the total. Of that 2,500, say, 90% will be rejected on the first page and 98% by the end of the first chapter. That leaves 30-50 manuscripts, and they’re the only ones which will get any kind of serious consideration. In a good year, ten of those might be published. In a bad year, less than five."

EVEN if you get a book published, you don't get any money lol. I'm just going to stop there.

You NEED to stay in school. I'm not trying to hurt you or anything, but that's the harsh reality you need to face. Look. School. FOUR YEARS of dedication and you're free and happy for the rest of your life. OR you can be free now and give up on everything do whatever you think you want to do and then spend the REST OF YOUR LIFE in misery because you didn't stay in school.

Just please rethink and reorganize your thoughts. You're still young. You have a lot of time to improve but you need be making good decisions.

You know the place I am considering is a place I've worked in before so I already have quite an impact there...

    Pretty good debate here.

Sakuraid, even if you have a good plan for finding a job, it might not work as expected. I don't know much about selling books, but I know that making a program that can sell is going to be really tough, because there's a lot of competition and some of the best-selling programs required luck or many hours of work (or even both). As much as traveling is nice, you got to set some priorities first, and you can't travel all the time.

Going to college/uni is a good mentality. However, it isn't the only way: I know quite a few people who didn't go to uni and yet they have a stable enough income to travel around the world. Plus, with the current competition for the jobs that a uni provides, some people end up with a degree but no jobs.

My whole take on this is: focus on getting a job you would like to have, gather the amount of money necessary for a trip or two while not neglecting the important things, and just enjoy the ride.

Personally, I am more close to Syn's path (because I don't see me do anything else than computer science :p), but I try to make the most of my free time. Maximize the profit, minimize the cost.

I know, I know, but those are just examples. I have other tricks up my sleeve(like for example fully supportive parents, no I won't rely on their money) that I don't want to mention, no it's not illegal.

Okay then. As long as you do something that you like (for both jobs and hobbies), I'm not going to try to dissuade you.
