Angelus: MAX DPS MAGE [Staff + Shield Build] (Lv110 Cap)

    20 ampr means for every auto-attack set you successfully hit, you recover 20mp.
    When a mob or boss dodges or evades your auto attack (indicated by a MISS or EVADE/swooshing animation), you don't gain that 20mp.
    And there's a smaller mp recovery effect for Sober Analysis. That's the mp recovery every 3 seconds during battles.

    Thats mean if i cast storm in close range the damage will reduced? How meter is considered "close range"?

    0-7m is short range, Anythin Above 8m is long range, and yep ud lose 10% of ur current dmg if ur under 8m

    I have done a test on sober analysis and Short Rest
    The equip used are cat paw, ooze armor (3 AMPR) vs BB Garb (0 AMPR), war helm, and muscle talis II.
    Stat was 50 Dex to ensure no miss on shell mask.

    No survival skill
    BB garb : 27 hits to recover 400 MP. Translates to 14,8 AMPR (?)
    Ooze : 21 hits to recover 400 MP. Translates to 19,04 AMPR

    Short rest lv 5, Sober Analysis lv 1
    BB Garb : 26 hits to recover 400 MP. Translates to 15,38 AMPR (?)
    Ooze : 20 hits to recover 400 MP. Translates to 20 AMPR.

    Short rest lv 10, Sober Analysis lv 10
    BB Garb : 25 hits to recover 400 MP. Translates to 16 AMPR (?)
    Ooze : 20 hits to recover 400 MP. Translates to 20 AMPR.

    Doesn't seem that a lv 10 sober analysis give +20 AMPR. According to my test, it probably gave +1 or +2 ?
    Or there is probably a flaw in my method...

    What is the range to activate shield bash?
    What you think about this combo?
    Mana Saver combo: Assault attact> Impact (save) > Storm (smite) > Shield Bash (consecutive) ~ [MP cost: 100]
    *assault att as combo opener to instant close range, and shield bash to escape bosses aoe?

    And could you please post a video? ^^

    Shield Bash's range is 3 meters. And that's actually a good combo, I just didn't want to add a 7th skill tree. :p

    sober analysis i think you misunderstood it as ampr. its mp regen skill so when you attack you notice that the mp you recover is a bit higher but it is not because of ampr but it regen your mp. it just happen the same time when u attack and even you are not attacking it still regen mp .. so its not ampr .. but mana regen .. i test it a little but didnt do a lot of test so i can say that it is not 100% accurate .. but thats the idea .. well it is still helpful thou

    You are correct. You can be running around and MP will still slowly regen ^^

    It works wonders during long combos as you can generate a full bar or more by the time the combo ends.

    S. Analysis is AMPR related. The skill with the automatic mp regen effect isn't Sober, is S. Rest.
    Short Rest regenerates little bits of mana each 3 seconds, inside and outside battle the interval is the same: 3 seconds.
    When you test, max Short Rest, enter the battle and you'll see the difference. No S. Rest = 0%, rank 5 = 100%, rank 10 = 200%.

    has anybody mentioned abt stun global cooldown? i forget the number, but eventho the 1mp combo seems so appealing, dont expect that u can perma-stun boss like a boss.
    Im on my progress building warmage, lvl 66 by now.
    @Precaria , NPC, help me get my cat hood!

    Skill Descriptions
    ...Sober Analysis-No Limit Regenerate MP during battles. The healing amount is small.

    Sober linked to AMPR is a mis-conception that was spread around in other threads. I tried it with my 2h, back when I had it, MP regen took place while I was doing Rampage. So the MP regen takes place over time.

    I cannot contest to the 20mp per second regen rate as it took 4-5 seconds to regen 1 bar which seems a little slow. But 20Mp for 5 sec IS 1 bar, so that might be correct.

    I just find SA alone is too slow for what it's worth, that could be due to 2hs burning MP too fast. Use SA as a accessory to recover bonus MP over time is great, it's just not a skill we can 'count' on ^^

    well i really dont have a back up or proof for that .. it just happen that i notice it. and read treads about it. but cheers.. :)

    well yes it is given short rest is mp regen skill. but doesnt works on battle or while attacking. and sober i think is the same but works on battle so you misunderstood it for ampr. who cares? lol theyre both helpful both mana regen so ampr or not. still helpful for battles. as i told you i didnt run with a test or do some algorithm. it is just a simple notice..

    Is the -10% going to be a huge reduction to the damage? Because i'm almost always playing close range with my mage.
    I already have the xtal but still hesitant to use it because of this ._.

    Is it viable to have Angelus build equipped with Aggro% increase gears? Of course MP is still counted in

    Yes its viable, since we don't have provoke, spammer snipers will take aggro and kite bosses making them run out of your storm, the more you can tank the better. Angelus tanks very smoothly, I enjoy tanking with it, although sometimes aggro isn't enough versus other builds, aggro gears can help.
