Bandage eyepatch vs. Curled horn

Another way is to find a group of mobs that are easily OHKOed by both Storm and Impact. Proration won't affect things and you don't need to set up anything, just find a good spot. I feel like Shell Masks would be great for this since they are weak and have an unique spot at Nisel.

EDIT: I'm actually serious. Unless Storm's damage is calculated "uniquely" for each mob, this is an easy way to test the damage output, as each mob would count as a "tick".

 

Seems viable. I'll do this when I get bored of Zega.

 

Yup maxed Magic Mastery and Magic UP

Btw Colon only has 10k health so it only takes 3 ticks to kill him but here's my test
Did what BK suggested and did Boss Colon Ulti 10 times, Just using storm no combo, and run around in a circle
Did it for 10 rounds, each round giving 3 storm ticks so that 30 storm ticks per add

Btw I'm not saying stab is bad, this test was with 4k storms where 8% stab only stabilize like 300dmg with 60% staff

Raise the dmg to around 20k and 8% stab will stabilize like 2000dmg and will hurt you if the battle last longer than 3mins

Go for Bandage if the boss is squishy and you want burst

Go for Curled horns if you want consistency for longer fights where you don't just do 3-4storms and the fight ends

 

depend on your equip and build.
yet i choose bandage eyepatch . stability is less influencing magic especially if you have max or lv 5 concentrate(battle skill). so i suggest having your matk booster is the best choice.

 

Today I finally had free time and did the same test as you @Minnijay and the results were the opposite of what you got.
I registered higher damages to allow a more noticeable difference.

Test was done at Gespenst Hard difficulty. HP: 17K (Only 4 Storm ticks to kill)

Equipment used:

Storm Staff (drop)
I7%/M7% Armor
* Curled Horns (NPC: MATK +4%, Stability +8%)
* Bandage Eyepatch (NPC: MATK +3%, INT +3%, Weapon ATK +3%, VIT -9%)

Stability with Staff is calculated like this: (Stability Stat + 100) ÷ 2
With a 1st Anniv Staff (60% Stab.) we do 60 + 100 ÷ 2 = 80. If we add Curled Horns we get 68 + 100 ÷ 2 = 84%.

The average between 84 and 100 is 92 (Curled Horns).
The average between 80 and 100 is 90 (Bandage Eyepatch).

20-25 MATK doesn't cover that 2% bonus of Real Damage dealt, it did have a poorer performance. I stick with the Curled Horns.

Why not use anigma it has 5% matk

 

My storm dmg can reach like 7k per hit and can be really low like 1k-2k per hit. It happen most of the time. Is this because of stability? Staff 50%

3. stability (always active to ruin your high score )
