1h + Dagger is a close range + mid ranged figter. Your skill selection is not bad but you are missing certain skills for quick DPS like sword tempest which can let you do fast DPS rather than burst DPS in addition to provide magic proration.

    1) Spike Dart> Sword Tempest (Save) > Impact (Consec) > Gattling Knife (Smite)

This is a moderate damage mid range 1MP combo. Using this you can contribute to DPS from a distance is the boss is being an asshat with self centered AoEs or just spamming wave attacks. You may need a way to boost the motion speed of Gattling Knife outside of combos (Example: God Speed Wield or high ASPD /w AGI and Quick Aura)

Your impact meteor combo is good for burst damage but takes too much MP to use, especially with Decoy Shot being the main way to regenerate MP. Might I recommend you disregard decoy shot in favor of Trigger Slash? You can't tank with this build so Decoy shot would be a waste of Skill points in two scenarios
    a) When it is an all DPS party and the boss agro continuously shifts

    b) When the boss jumps around like a mad man

At max level, Trigger slash grants +20 AMPR, along with max level rampage, that's +45 AMPR. You can chose to use this with God Speed Wield (GSW) for motion speed boost but with how evasion works in this game, I won't recommend it.

2a) GSW > Berserk (Save) > Rampage (Swift) > Trigger Slash (Consec)

2b) Kairiki > Berserk (Save) > Rampage (Swift) > Trigger Slash (Consec)

With both combos you control when you get close to the boss.
Note: In this game, pressing the attack button in the middle of a combo when you have the Shukuchi skill allows you to sometimes dash up to the enemy and continue the combo. It can fail if you frantically press the button.

    With (a):
+ You get motion speed and ASPD
    - You suffer a loss in resistance

    With (b):
+ Kairiki is short duration so it may have to be recasted
    + Kairki gives AMPR
    - You will constantly be burning yourself on this combo
    - Might need to be supplemented with a recovery combo: Bloody Bite > Buster Blade (Save) > Spiral Air or Any 3MP finisher (Swift)

You will now need a fast damaging close range combo, in this regard, Strike Stab is nice but in my opinion, it would be more suitable for magic swordsmen builds. Nevertheless, at close range, you want a fast combo to dish out massive damage and with no lock down.

3a) Astute > Buster Blade (Smite) > Quick Aura

3b) Flash Stab > Strike Stab (Smite) > Quick Aura [Note: Requires pre-existing ailment]

3c) Spike Dart/Poison Dagger > Strike Stab (Smite) > Quick Aura [Note: Not completely close range, player will need to move to boss to complete combo]

All of these use a moderate amount of MP (3 - 4) and are ok for dealing fast close range damage but that is all. You would lose HP whenever you use it but since quick aura has an extremely short animation time and provides a boost to ASPD (indirectly and a tiny extent, motion speed as well), it is somewhat worth it.

    Your finisher combo:

    4) Impact > Meteor Breaker (Smite) > Trigger Slash (Swift)

Is perfect as is. It is short, provides quick damage and boosts AMPR all the while if well timed can function as a close ranged defense and is immune to boss counters.

MP Charge is unnecessary inside of boss battles, especially at level 1 for a midrange/close range fighter. Finale with 1 skill point to abuse the common ender may be more suitable elsewhere but if it works for you then it works.

Because you have no AGI on your build, you need skills to augment the lack of ASPD when you have optional skills like hidden arm and mail breaker. It helps to recover MP fast in close range and proc the passive more often.

Not a bad build though, just putting in my whole dollar of an opinion, all the best!

This sounds like a decent build build but seem to more of an overhaul in skills and play style rather than a simple upgrade in effectiveness. @Rodri Albari ’s build is more warrior type while the one you suggested is very assassin/glass cannon type.

Yeah that's the thing, it'd probably be better to play a 2h going with Rodri's build with how the game is now

Its down to whatever you find it fun to play, if we're talking about damage output, decoy+impact+main dmg burst skill is pretty much the most efficient way, damage wise and survivability wise, especially when you have other ampr skills on top of decoy shot

2h is definitely better but anyone who uses 1h+dagger clearly uses them because they like the weapons as they have virtually no advantages over 2h

It's situational, 2H is a good general DPS. But relies on landing meteor breaker on a static enemy. Otherwise their damage output is lower than 1h dagger. In addition a 1h dagger can focus pure damage into one enemy, making it easier to farm mini bosses. Whereas a 2H will aggro multiple mini bosses, die and ruin the party as they take on more enemies than they can handle.

So 1h daggers for pros, and 2H for Hoes.

But he isn't wrong. Considering Meteor misses you will do lesser damage than a basic gat knife. Also he's not wrong with how OHS-Dag can be better suited for mini bosses that you don't wanna be swarmed by (Altoblepas, Amoeba Machina) due to single targetting skills.

For 2H it's useful. But for 1h meteor breaker isn't that powerful. Strike stab out damages Meteor breaker, and by chance alone gatling dagger can deal more.

Landing it is an issue on mobile bosses. I've seen 2H lose attack rank, as their combos that rely on impact > Meteor often trigger outside of range once the boss passes. On Venena it's perfect, but HB and other direct dmg melee classes out damage 2H consistently. I've been out damaging 2H users without effort with just 1h dagger.

1h + dagger seems a good build out damaging a 2h and I would love to see it solo the 3rd road to Megiston. ^_^

2h doesnt even need meteor. Its buster is stronger than both 1h meteor and 1h strike stab.
Also nope, no way is 1h strike stab stronger than meteor. Mp wise it might, but the time taken for it to set up an ailment and possibly crit boosters eat it up as well.

Again people like to justify themselves winning against random people with possibly less expensive equipment and no solid strategy as a justification to compare 2 weapons. If anyone really wants to compare I can easily arrange 2 charas for the different weapons with similar lvl/equip/build/strats. Then we can see if the so called underclass can really indeed win.

My experience with meteor and buster on 1h, is that gatling by chance and 1h strike stab were consistently able to out damage meteor breaker and buster.

Just clearing that up, since I think it may have read that I was comparing it to a 2h meteor / buster.

As I found on 1h strike stab landing 350k+ was around 50-70k higher than Meteor without changing equipment. Though occasionally I've landed a 40k*16 gatling, which is 640k dmg.

To my understanding Meteor on 2H can do 720k+ and from a Japanese YouTuber, apparently over 1m dmg. So in my mind, it's fine to have a Stike stab dealing around 300k, for half the MP cost. If I had a different skill point arrangement, i could use impact again. Which would boost the damage. But I've found in a party situation, the damage boost is minimal...

I'm sure a lot of ranking is circumstantial, which is fine. So I'm not stating it as an absolute. But, if I'm beating a 2H in a randomised situation . Then that's just a statement. As I'm assuming I'm just an average player, against an average player.

Well, I guess. I haven't had any trouble, since I've involuntary had to solo each boss now and again.

It seems your build might be tailored to boosting strike stab more than meteor.
Meteor has separate stability checks so if it is low you might see the total damage less than strike stab which has a singular stab check.
Also sword techniques is another huge factor which really boosts meteor damage way up. For now I do not see how strike stab can outdamage a max swords tech meteor even for 1h, the difference is like more than 33% in meteor's favour.

Hmm maybe. You seem very knowledgeable. Do you know if tech or luck effects the success rate for amazing throw or strike stab?

Based on the skill tree list, nope. amazing throw proc rate is 30% at lvl 10. Strike stab got crit penalty that made it miss a lot without punish ray
