    Assuming a 1000 def no resistance mob.
    Assuming 3k attack /w crit multiplier of 2.5

    [(3000-1000)+300]*4= 9200 * 2.5 = 23000
    [(3000-1000)+100]*4= 8800*2.5=22000

    [(3000-1000)+300]*5= 11500*2.5=28750
    [(3000-1000)+100]*5= 10500*2.5=26250

    [(3000-1000)+300]*6=13800*2.5=34500
    [(3000-1000)+100]*6=12600*2.5=31500

    [(3000-1000)+300]*7=16100*2.5=40250
    [(3000-1000)+100]*7=14700*2.5=36750

    Total pre=126500
    Total post=116500

    %nerf = 8%, varies but there it be.

    Well,i really hope the dmg reduction are somewhat like the calculation above.
    Though,the update haven't rolled so i don't know how bad it gonna be

    Patch seems to be aimed at making it tougher for low end gear users really. It's like a gap opener patch excluding the case with mages, they got thoroughly shagged with that third hit.

    Agreed I want to see my dmg after the nerf...
    I used to do 280k per tenryu on venena at 4 max dmg I thought the nerf would cut my dmg to 1/3 of it

    TBH, only one gripe. No buff to Buster Blade making it one-shot everything because it's best skill in game :|

    Why isn't it needed? Balances are needed in all games from time to time
    whats there to hope? it is how this is going to be atleast at lvl 10 tenryu.

    NOOOOOO now DW can't spam SC from safe distance anymore :(. I guess I will have to get close and personal like the rest of you melee peasants. :(

    I think Katana and DW were definitely going to get nerfed.

    Katana is about burst damage. Not constant dps.

    While DW is short range dps, and had become ranged dps... Too the point it was literally broken.


    But I thik they need to think about how 1h/2H, Katana, DW and knuckles operate. At the moment it's easier to use dw and Katana for survival and damage. While the rest are no longer viable for either. Making them pretty much redundant.

    I wouldn't know that, also that 8% applies at high ATK.

    At lower atk values, the difference a skill constant makes increases.

    But what are asobimo trying to do with all the short range melee classes?

    From what I've seen, there are clearly exceptionally strong classes without effort. And then ones that use to be viable, become redundanct as soon as new update introduces an OP skill.

    We've already seen the disappearance of 2H in favour of DW. And who wouldn't want to spam SC (1.2m dmg on Venena nm) thanks to proto clarity. Now we just have to sit back and watch two DW practically solo Venena nm under 1:30.

    I they should keep rebalancing skills, or introduce T5 skills with some sort of utility in mind.

    Tbh the finale nerf wouldn’t be that big of a deal if they nerfed the other S tier skills with it. There weren’t many skills that were good at high def bosses and they basically killed DT’s only real competition.

    The whole reason people are using Katana and dw is that the damage is clearly higher, and increased survivability. Which makes other melee classes redundant, when they had the potential to be attackers.

    These two classes have been a departure from the cost/benefit that was established when the game first started. As they introduced new mechanics.

    There is literally very little cost to using Katana and dw. And the benefits are huge.

    You're lucky they didn't do a balanced nerf, as Katana was initially unbalanced, and supposed to be burst damage / technical, and DW was close range dps / technical. Just different play styles... But then the community leveraged decoy and unsheathed dmg to tip the balance. It didn't even require any effort on the players behalf, asobimo gave those two classes the upper edge. Making HB/2H/1H dagger redundant

    I disagree, people have leverage decoy to ensure that Katana can spam their nuke relatively fast, and ignoring defence is a massive advantage on nm+ bosses. To the point I've never seen a bow/bg out damage a boss against a Katana user.

    I think they were generous to Katana with that nerf. As they're somewhat designed for burst damage. While comparing to cf users is a bit random, as they're ranged. And have an element of risk to their charges being lost or missing.
