Skill balancing, skill charging viable?

    You know how crossfire is stupid OP by being able to charge whilst you are freely able to use any other skill in the game with no drawbacks whatsoever as long as you dont get hit?

    Well, what if they adjusted that skill along with some others like chariot, finale, burst and garyou so that you have to hold down the shortcut button to charge the skill instead?

    I know this conflicts with the combo system as it is right now but lets ignore the workload on that front and just focus on the skill charging concept. Wont this balance the game much better? Of course, mobility should be allowed whilst charging and the mob target should be locked on to automatically during.

    For magic skills, mages should have to get a passive that allows for mobile casting before they can move whilst casting. A chant revocation t3/t4 skill passive maybe that allows movement at skill level * X * movement speed%.

    Whats your take? How would you implement balancing changes in the game?

    I may be biased, since my main is a CF user ...
    You do know that there are plenty of bosses where CF is practically useless because you can't charge (e.g. dev's fetish towards shark waves, spies etc.). You are also useless if you have the aggro (due to idiotic spamming combined with decoy and maybe snipe), and you can't dodge everything.

    The charging mechanism would require you to play with 3 fingers. And the biggest issue: Revamp of the skill system, that would probably introduce more bugs to the neverending list of bugs we currently have.

    Mobile casting is nice, although I'm not sure how you would want that chant implemented

    Im aware that CF has extreme disadvantages when in a solo/agro situation but the fact remains in that it is rather extreme damage for minimal cost gear and skill wise compared to other skills in the game.

    Well, whilst charging, they should remove the dependency of the camera being controlled solely by the minimap area or just auto lock on to the enemy target in the same way that occurs when you single tap the auto attack button. The latter is extremely easy to implement rather than reworking an entire skoll and camera system and if you want to move afterwards, release the charge and regain free camera.

    As for chant revocation, Well imagine this, if you're chanting finale, which doesnt miss or can get evaded, basically perfect aim on a attack with high damage. You need to have some kind of penalty associated with it. Implementing dodge finale is BAD but having movement speed modifiers would work better as we all know what getting hit during casting does.

    I personally think boss and monster auto attacks need to be reworked due to their infinite range on trigger but that's another mountain on its own.

    They could just make CF do a bit less damage since that would be a much easier change to make. Plus, making it to where you need to hold down the skill button would ruin the bowtana class.

    Wouldn't work well, especially for emulator users since they can just assign a key for the shortcut and put something on the keyboard to hold it down. Nerfing the damage would be much easier to do, and without the risk of completely breaking the game.

    I'm also curious about the new combo system, hopefully they're not gonna mess it up.

    :
    - Range advantage

    - Motion advantage.

    - All element advantage.

    - It's strong,even when using cheap gear.

    - No demerits except for getting hit but that doesn't even matter since they got decoy shot and ampr range advantage.

    - Can further strengthen with gsw,brave aura,snipe,kairiki,and other biased buff skills that f*cks over melee with their demerits.

    - It just works,against 80% bosses in this entire game especially the strong event ones. (notice how people only wanted CF on almost every new event boss)

    - Barely anyone care to notice it's spam dmg and aggro generation is approx equal to that of pre-nerf finale.

    (not related to crossfire but bow users can inflict almost every ailment possible on bosses with magic javelin + arrows)




    Asobimo : uncalled-for nerfing tenryu dmg.

    A disadvantage for the perfect aim ... staying at one place during the cast. Isn't that the one you're looking for?

    Spamming 1/2 charge CFs: Inviting more aggro upon you (as the person currently holding the aggro) while barely contributing to the damage output and then you die.

    And I'm pretty sure that the devs will introduce plenty of anti-cf bosses, just for the sake of it.

    while that could be a "good" additional way to balance the game,but toram devs fails at implementing new features without it crashing or causing even more problem.

    implementing the friend chat function is already a dang challenge for them,i don't think they would prioritize adding new mechanics before orb scam offers for now.

    you know it just doesn't matter to the air heads out there right? they just cast it right again afterward then blame the tank for it (me)

    and anti-cf bosses is an even more threat to melee since melee prone to take full dmg all the time (the attacks just hit you directly at close range rather than splitting into small minor dmg = > bow users)

    giving how they constantly tried to make bosses suitable and clearable by all class there is no meaning to create a boss with 1-dmg full area shout spam right? cause they need cf to be able to clear it and shat on other classes hopelessness.

    Tbh, directly adjusting the damage means that at some point later on, you need to adjust it again to compensate for new gear types etc.

    Yeah, but the fact remains that unless you have CF or play a tank, you're (most of the time) not going to be favoured for party hence it is a topic that has room for discussion.

    'Elephant in the room' describes this perfectly.

    Given the recent bosses, staying in one place too long is bad too. It reaches the point where finale may become obsolete with further boss implementations.

    Move while casting surely will be impossible even that if you move u cancel cast to continue casting surely will be impossible.Thats why eva/guard button just need to be patient as all with asobimo ) :

    If they made the multiplier of its main hit 20% lower, it would do 20% less damage regardless of what you equip.

    Now consider pierce, resistance and base attack.
    Im not saying that its not a good idea, just saying that the effect would be temporary in the long term. Besides, CF problem isnt so much the damage, it's how easy it is to achieve that damage.

    Sometimes balance we ask already in game we just dont appreciate the small things it can do. There are are skills that can give party dps mobility when in need. Like interrupt skills and fear ailment can easily make a difference on some boss farms.
    A simple interrupt skills if its effective ( high chance of inflict ) and used at the right time can affect the grind tremendously.
    Like king piton for example. Try to farm it with a tank that will interrupt his shark blades cast vs a tank that will allow him cast it freely.
    Like Tuscog Global Red AOE skills on his late part of the grind. Although its global it can easily be cancel with an interrupt. But he will counter the interrupt with spikes so its the tank call if he wants to cancel it and and save his members just endure the counter or let the global skill kills its dps.
    We just need to trust and rely on other roles/members skills although majority of other roles dont know how to trully build theirs (Supports/tanks that wanna do dmg)

    It's still 20%. CF will get stronger in the future because of better equipment, but so will every other skill.

    Main beef with this is that the combo system works against the player by keeping them rooted until a movement skill is reached. Hopefully theyd have this fixed when they revamp the combo system.

    Ah as a precursor, im not arguing from a standpoint that what you're saying is wrong, im just trying to clear up a point.

    With 20% dmg reduction, 80% dmg becomes the new 100%. Yes the damage would go back up in the future but considering all the things that already boost damage in this game, is 20% really that significant? In the future that damage is going to go right back up too and the same problem would remain which is the ease of getting huge damage at a relatively minimal cost.

    Imo, nothing is wrong with CF damage, the relative ease you can get it for is a different story however and whilst 20% dmg reduction might help fir now, it wont work long term.

    Yeah the remaking of combo system is interesting. I believed theyve already shortened the mp charge for staffs. I think the key point for all class wether its a dps, tank or a support is just to know boss patterns. It can help you to find the right timing on casting long combos ( which you can actually shortens ). Salts with regards to imbalances in other weapons are all because of that ranks.
    Those old days of spamming everything for that dmg and ur always fine may be not applicable soon. Game is getting harder and harder and starting to use brain to play. Unless braincells cant handle the game anymore, others resort to mods :fail:.
    When someone outdmg someone on a particular farm theyll be at rage. Where infact there are really class that will perform better than the other vs a specific boss.
    like in Titeres with mobs, do A dps single target build should be salty to an aoe dps if they outranked them?
    They said mages are weak now and got nerfed. But try to fight tuscog without mage. That boss feels like no magic Resistance at all.
    With game different types of grinds and much flexibility on gears, builds, skills, and approach, building something that will be applied to everything is hard. You always need to adopt and modify something. Because if you cant thats when ull start to loose it and rage follows when devs gave us all the necessary adjustments we just refused to do so or fails to see it.

    from data miner, the phy/magic resistant just 6%, DEF about 422 and MDEF about 260. When below 50% HP DEF/MDEF will reduce 20% and there is 25% chance for Magic critical...Yup, Mage is great on him.

    Its very obvious if you just observe party farms. And yet many salty bout mages being nerfed like they dont have a place in game at all

    They should make cf charge time stopped if you walk, and let it continue if you stand still. Other classes should also have one ultimate attack type of skill that can be unleashed instantly after some kind of preparation. This gives a better feel of strategy to the game where you can unleash your strongest attack at the right time window.
