DPS CSPD Mage Build Guide by makOi (Lvl100 Cap)

I've had a bit of a better idea. Instead I'll use magic devices instead to maximize the potential of the assault-wall combo. I'll also put fewer points into mp boost since all magic devices give +100mp (I believe) so that means I can save some points there. Won't need the shield tree since you can't use sub-weapons with magic devices, so shields and daggers are useless. Instead I'll put the extra points towards light armor mastery, and maxing more of my offensive skills. Blast is also more effective with magic devices, so maxing it is something I can do I suppose. Trying to think of places where I can save points and put them where they are of more use.

 

Just to remind you magic device have slower cast time than staff. So slower casting means slow dps. For mobbing magic device is better but againts bosses staff is better.

Hi @Combos , I'm a new player. I read through your guide and I'm trying out your Blast + Guard build.

Atm, I'm level 34 and I found when I'm casting, I'm exposing myself to mob attacks and suffering from status ailments (flinch, tumble, stun) from lvl 29 goblins (Ribisco Cave) onwards. I haven't had enough skill points to invest in Heavy Armor Mastery plus I haven't acquire those gears you recommended yet, which may explain my situation.

Which leads me to think... To cover the gap for "long" cast time and capitalising on the full INT stat build, can we:
1. Exchange Assault Attack for Holy Fist (since we already invested in the Priest Skill Tree, unless the Parry skill comes in useful later)
2. Consider using Holy Light later on (when level cap rises) with breaking skills to maximise dmg
3. Do minor adjustments to skills build to minimise exposure during casting when soloing mobs (especially for fast moving ones or very close range within enclosed spaces) such as combo-ing instant-cast stun skills (eg Shield Bash) with Magic Wall

Why point 3, you may ask. Because I noticed our Blast + Guard build is equipped with a shield, so I was contemplating if there is a way to maximise its use as well... since Shield Skill Tree has skills that enhances DEF & MDEF.

Would appreciate very much for your advise.

 

Ok the reason why i have assault attack is for me to quickly drop my wall smite so i strongly advise to have that skill. Its like a siggy move to me!
There are other class that is specilize to break bosses let them be. I tested mage breaker but it requires knuckles as a sub for you to have higher chances thos ailments will proc but the prob is it will lower your matk when you equip knuckles as a sub.
Regardig the holy fist im not quite sure with this skill.
Shield bash is ok in replacement for your Bless but do know that there is no gurantee that this will always succesfully hit(if it hits its good youll have time to cast your arrow+blast combo without worries) + it will cost you 6 SP just to have that skill. Shield passives are nice since they can provide you additional hp 50hp/skill level but it will require more skill points. With the current cap its not possible.
I personally suggest to follow the blast build with hp boost coz the guard rate build is not easy to make due to those xtals + bd cape slot. Yesterday saw someone buying bd cape slot for 100k+.
ATM with the guard rate build i still get flinch but one thing good for this build is youll see your guard procs alot even if have low hp coz the sp was invested to mp boost.
I know there are xtal that can increase your mana such as gespenst but i dont want to have that -1%matk i know thats a small but still its a - to your dmge. I dont want that.
ATM i rarely use my mage coz im havig fun with my new character BG Breaker.

Thanks Combos. I'll take up your suggestion to go for the Blaster build.
I've also tried out Holy Fist, comparing both up to level 5 with pure Int. Holy Fist deals higher dmg than M. Arrow and it's instant cast. Haven't try Holy Light yet.

 

Mage skills dont crit. So that crit stat is useless for mages

 

That idk. But theres a mini boss xtal that gives +300 cspd Sertilio Xtal.

I have one question to ask about your blaster build. Can it solo? Can you use it to solo every boss and mini boss with it? That's my little challenge for you. I want a build that is capable of that. So far this build seems promising, so I'm asking for everyone here who uses this build if they are able to do that.

If you really want to solo everything stack up more HP xtals (r.golem) + Hp boost lvl 10 and vita plus +500hp so thats total of 2.3k hp and have tons of revita. Disregard guard rate/eva coz you wont be needing those as long as you can endure dmage.
You just need to drop your wall to keep those bosses knockback and cast arrow combo repeat.

Lastly im not a solo player i prefer a teamwork faster, better and fun.
