Tank: 1H Sword + Shield (LVL 150 cap)

Thats really help, coz im confused about nure and hero scraf. coz you recomended and explain its make me easy to copy your build and chosee nure mask. thanks

 

I do not recommend getting nure mask. Nure mask will give you more hp but I've found because it has negative stats it is a worse option than hero scarf. The biggest is -30% ailment resistance. As a tank this is very bad because you will get burned, poisoned etc a lot easier. These status problems take away hp depending on your total amount of hp. So no matter how much hp you have your hp will always be cut down the same. It will also counter the stat points you put into your personal stat for mental which helps keep you from poison, burn. Also the -15% motion speed will make your tank slower.
I say go with hero scarf because it adds 1000hp plus 5% vit and 10% aggro. The only negative is -25% attack and -25% magic attack. This doesn't matter as the role of a tank is not to focus on attack.

Also sonic Blade is better as gap closer compared to assault atk.

When I first started building this tank I did try using sonic blade. It is very similar but it costs 200 mp verses assault attack which is 100 mp. For my combos to be 100 mp I had to go with assault attack because it is either at the end or the very start of the combo. Hope this helps you! ^^

 

Oh i was thinking of using sonic blade in the middle or in the end of combo.
Maybe ill use both, and use assault as opener, so double gap closer to make sure ure always stick close to the boss that always moving around
Also sonic blade seems to have more range..

May I suggest a combo?
*cough cough*
Assault atk > Trigger slash (save) > Shield bash (cons) > Rage sword (swift) > Hard hit (swift).

My point is, trigger buff for faster bash, and spammable 1mp combo with lil bit aggro booster on it (rage sword) and an annoying disruptor (hardhit).

Note : You might want to remove hardhit and tinker a lil bit for a flinch-hating boss.

That would sound interesting. For this build though you won't lose aggro right away even if you're a bit far from it thanks to the aggro equiptment. Just be careful with using both because I've found when just using assault attack there are times you end up charging into boss attacks and then you can't move away in time to dodge.

 

Oh thanks. I'll definitely try this. If you can't flinch you can always switch out hard hit with holy fist since they require the same mp.

Pssst, im using it for my char.
Check out my build 1h+shield (dexed out)
Using dropped BD sword, my astute can reach 7-10k using proper proration.
No need a good 'iron man expensive' gears.
As for me, breaker is almost 100% in normal varied party.
As for tanking purpose, initiating a massive threat + maintaining combo with enough threat lvl is the key.
I mostly use provoke once and spam away my cheap cheesy combo.
Voila! Tank and Breaker rank is mine.

I've never been an expert at coming up with combos so if you have any other ideas I'd love to hear them. Your build sounds cool. This build isn't meant to deal damage. It's a pure tank. I don't have to use provoke too often but I mainly built this to keep aggro from fu builds and full support allowing them to use as many skills needed. Depending on the party this build can get breaker and support rank as well as tank.

 

Lol, I'm a combo maniac.
I have like, umm, 12 viable combo for semi-tank combo, enough for rank-hogging in non-seasoned party runs.
Please note that most of it won't work if you party up w someone like @Precaria and the gang, they are greedy af.

I have 100% aggro now lol. Finally got my armor. So 10% more than before

 

I don't focus on Aggro % gear, I prefer HP, skill versatility and fun-to-use. My tank is maze & legendary/ultimate runs oriented. If a Fu is enough to tank the boss, then using a tank isn't needed so I switch to my mage or snipers.

 

I understand what you're saying. At the moment I don't plan on adding any more aggro. I only have that much to be certain I can keep aggro from fu builds and full support even when not near the boss. As the lvl cap increases i will add more to skills to help make this tank even more balanced.

 

Every build is different. I do like you're tank build too. It has a lot of options for use. I know what you mean. There have been times I just use my Mage instead but I also have met a lot of fu builds that appreciate aggro being kept from them as it saves revs, even if the boss isn't extremely difficult.
