what resistance MTL gives?

 

I believe MTL gives resistance to status ailments like flinches, stuns etc etc

 

What is your aspd and mdef now senpai?

 

and how about prot and aegis? Dont need it?

 

My xtal choices:
Zega II, Aranea, Iconos, Ifrid, Candela, Grylle, Memecoleous, Tapir
My aspd is currently 600+. I normally use mega speed potion. Mdef is 300+.

Currently there is not enough skill points but it will definitely be gotten 10000 years later when 150 cap is out. But anyways this tank is able to tank efficiently without the protection or aegis buff currently

Ditch Defence UP and that entire branch of battle skills.
Def/Mdef is no good once it goes beyond 250 points.
Instead get power wave trust me it will help you a lot for certain bosses especially for a high ampr build like yours.

 

I agree with you that some bosses move around a lot so Power wave might be of some help. However the skills in the combos have very limited range so I have to be near the bosses. If I get power wave I doubt I would actually use it very often.
I read your post on (m)def being less effective when over 250 but since it will still be of some help I decided to get it anyways. Do you have any better skills that I should consider other than Defense Mastery and the prerequisites?

Protection and aegis of course if not power wave.
Defense UP and Defense mastery add like 30def each which would only reduce at most 1% damage at lvl10
While protection and aegis give 30% physical and magical resistance respectively which is 30-37% damage reduction based on how much resistance you have from gears.
You will get 21 skill points free from the battle skill tree just more than enough for you to max both the skills.

Do not worry about protection and aegis reducing their counter resistance (-15%) coz heres how it works:-
Even on bosses that do both magic and physical attacks you will find yourself using aegis more because whenever guarding, guard power halves if the attack u take is magic so magic reduction is much more important. While the negative physical resistance will get balanced by guarding.

Also speaking of guard I also suggest guardian lvl1-5 depending on your preference to get 25%+ guard rate.
So protection5 - aegis10 - guardian5 is another option.

Does protection and aegis got a hidden boost+ resistance from lvl6-10? Coz I read that SLvl only increases its duration?

 

Its 30% resistance only at lvl10 not at lower lvls.
Both resistance and duration increases afaik

 

I see coz if its just for the duration, ima just let it stay on lvl5 coz I might make aegis a part of a non physical combo (magic/buffs) so I'll be casting it often anyway. I guess I'll just cross the bridge when I get there. Thanks for the infos

At bosses like empress that move away real fast sonic blade opener is a good way to quickly remove the gap.

Also have you considered getting twilight dress (Drop) and Brigandine (NPC)
They are much better than Anniv dress imo
Tapir armor is a good alternative for dark ele bosses if you dont like the aspd negative on twilight dress
For add gear jiangshi hat is pretty good too and it gives 300mp as well.
Depending on how often you use p def low hp high resistance gears can be better than high hp gears.

 

Twilight dress has a 500 aspd nega which can affect the amount of proration provided and the speed of me regaining mp via ampr might be affected as well. The brigandine has a 75% light and dark element resistance negative but for bosses with non-light/dark resistance I agree it would work as well. I originally chose the anniversay dress because of the physical and magical resistance it provides as well as the MaxMP and high def.
P def is used when I fall within a powerful red aoe or when I know it is necessary to like when fractional damage is about to be taken. With this I agree that high resistance gears might work well but I figured out the MaxHP + 25% is better than the resistance Jiangshi hat provides because with the higher MaxHP I will be able to recover a lot more HP when P def is casted successfully.

 

P def heals 10% maxHP at lvl10 but it wont heal more than 2000HP which is the cap it reaches at 20k HP this will start to affect your survival when you are against a boss that can spam fractional attacks (e.g imitacia or aranea)
How much is your hp currently? I suggest focus on resistance more if you are already near 20k. I think its ok since I noticed you dont have HP boost survival skill.
