2H Skill Point Allocation (Copied from Class Discussions)

    I posted this same thread in the Class Discussion section of the forums, but I would like a little more feedback. I still haven't decided which skill to aim for, so I've copied the entire post and created a new thread here in General Discussion.

    I currently use a 2H sword char and have placed the majority of my points into the staples of Blade Skills: Lv10 Astute, Lv10 Sword Tempest, Lv10 Sword Techniques, etc.
    I am now facing the problem of having too few skill points with too many options that I would prefer to have.

    I have been thinking, and these are the main skills that I am currently considering investing in.

    Quick Draw
    Costs: 20 Skill Points (to Lv10)
    - As I spam 1MP combos quite often, I find myself running out of mana faster than I would like. If I had AMPR gear, this would be unnecessary though. At a low proc rate, it also seems quite expensive in Skill Points for a skill that isn't completely reliable (please correct me if I'm wrong).

    Shell Break
    Costs: 15 Skill Points (to Lv10)
    - I already have Smash leveled up to 5, so this option is not as expensive as "Quick Draw". "Shell Break" can be used quite effectively as a "saver" in my combos, which is a nice benefit on top of its mana-regain effect. However, being a 2H, I do not have access to knuckles. I have also heard that it is also less reliable than "Quick Draw" (again, please correct me if I'm wrong).

    Impact
    Costs: 25 Skill Points (to Lv10)
    - Extremely useful, but is very expensive in Skill Points. I also sacrifice Points in worthless abilities that will never be used. I haven't quite figured out yet whether its usage and potential exceeds that of its cost.

    Power Wave
    Costs: 19 Skill Points (to Lv10)
    - Situational skill, but is fairly cheap to acquire and I wouldn't mind allocating some Points into "MP Charge" to speed up the time spent between fighting bosses. With the release of Evil Crystal Beast, it seems to be quite useful and may continue to be useful in the future when more bosses are released with similar AI to ECB.

    Please leave feedback as to what I should place my Skill Points into. I haven't acquired the Emblems for 1000 "Top Party Rankings" yet, so I will watch this thread as I grind towards that.
    Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

    1. Power wave lowers the damage you do if you don't use a staff or MD, only raises the distance of your attack. Don't recommend it.
    2. Impact would only have to be level 7 for instant cast.
    3. Shell break has such low proc rate it isn't even funny, like you can have it in a spam combo and it would only proc every 4-6 times you use it, less sometimes.
    4 QD is a safe bet, a longer combo with quick draw can restore MP quickly, so go with that.

    Other recommendations: Death Colon Xtal, long 1 mp combo, QD. In other words spammers Valhalla with upped atk speed and SR damage for that tempest and astute

    Power wave only reduce auto-attack damage, not skill damage.
    its a great utility skill.

    I use power wave and I find it quite useful while soloing without revs,just run and atk for far until ur mp is high then spam combos preferably with flinch or stun,it can also help with aoes ,I can still atk and raise proration even through large boss aoe like EBC white aoe

    Get quickdraw, it's bread an butter for 2h spammers. Shell break is jst trash on 2h don't ever EVER get SB on a 2h

    There is in fact 1 use for it. It can be use as combo fodder, if you want a limited flinch combo and don't want to use trigger slash as your saved move. In that case the 3 mp move of SB can be used. Just don't expect it to proc

    Trigger slash is powerful on 3rd slot full consec combos

    yea it can be a save slave skill but the those high DPS 2hs usually using all consec combos. So save not needed really, BT I can understand the no flinch thing.
    Yea QD is great for 2H because it only procs with Attack skills, and 2h is spammin alot of attack skills. Maybe those 2h triple kickers like SB more lel idk

    Yeah I noticed that.. I haven't figured out how they get good damage yet on triple kick with 2h..

    Ahh it's possible alright and according to neric and others privy to such information it can be op In the right combo sequence..
