Or that it's going to be a new mandatory piece of "gear"?

There's going to be some sort of p2w element probably. Getting into the pet system itself will probably be free though.

    Rampage:
"If you get a status ailment, the effect ends at once."

I guess this might make mentality/status resist builds a thing if Rampage gets strong enough. Or give Immunity a use if you have a support somewhere. I wonder how it's going to interact with Recovery and Vaccines though. Since you obtain a status ailment and then get cured from it afterwards.

Also wonder how fast this skill can go when emphasizing motion speed alongside trigger slash. Or will it get locked at regular weed whacking speeds.

Tbh I feel as if Pets just like Avatars will only be for cosmetic use, Not p2w.

We'll see. I've dreaded this system since it was announced. If they don't make it p2w and don't require participation into it, i'd be estatic. I'm not going to get my hopes to high until it's released though.

Guys, there was a live about this. Most pets will be the random mobs you can find on the wild that you capture "à la" Pokémon Ranger. Then it fights for you. Tamer skills allow you to heal them, give them mana and command them to cast skills.
The only thing that could be close to p2w (and not that close honestly) are boss pets.

    Oh, never saw it.

*sigh* I really don't want to use a pet as a glorified side-turrent. Oh well.

Welp, back to Rampage and other swordie shennanigans.

    Hmm

So I envision that rampage will still have a high MP cost, and will have the following attributes...

    - Normal attacks are replaced with a consecutive type attack animation similar to the previous rampage.
    - Consecutive hit count will continue until the time expires.
    - Minor reduction in normal damage during consecutive hit count phase. I would assume 10%?
    - (a) Final hit will hopefully be significant (100k+) as you can only use it once every 10 minutes in battle.
    (b) Or final hit is the same as previous Rampage, as you can now spam other combos during rampage.
    (c) BIG CONCERN: How many boss fights realistically go for 10 minutes? I am worried the boss will be dead before then :/ I feel Rampage should be a 5 minute skill.

    - AMPR increase + 10 base rate. +1 for each level.
    - 10 minute immunity from status effects. (I think this is awesome, as I can now go back to critical as the special stat as mentality is redundant)

The preview video already showed the skill in work.
Basically your auto turns into the usual rampage attack. But you can move normally around and use skills.
Also ampr seems to be like regular auto attack.
That's at least what I got from the video.

A few corrections on your speculation.

It doesn't work that way. You cannot cast Rampage while it's in effect, and the effect persists until 10 minutes pass OR you execute the last part of Rampage. Then you can recast it. (Honestly, having a time restriction for a skill is dumb, as other buffs don't have that)

You are not immune to status effects. In fact, status effects (probably only interruptions) will remove the buff entirely, as you can see in the video.

Thanks for the video, that makes sense now. Just basically a mobile rampage, where you can gain back some of your AMPR.

Wasn't planning on forcing it on a save tag just so one skill can benefit that's obviously a waste.. considering the skill itself has more damage to it alongside(tick wise) and a critical damage buff.. I was gonna include it in a none save combo to let other skills gain the increase of critical damage as well while taking that sweet increase in damage as well, and yes I was already aware of the above statement.. thanks for the reminder. ^^/

;-; Wish flinch could've stayed though..

After watching the video, it seems they only lowered damage so that it compares to 1h damage.
Since the first 10 hits are modified auto attacks, DWs that can hit a high damage set of autos (i can do 10k to 14k) would be op if they didnt lessen the damage it deals.
Ampr buff wise, its like trigger and shadow. The only thing to find out if other ampr buffs like trigger and shadow stack with it.
Sonic Drive is a good starter now. Increased damage and range everytime you use it. Considering it gas 20m cast range at lvl 10 iirc when i used it with 1h. Can now be similarly used as shadow step chaser for 2h and 1h.
They revamped also Spiral Air animation. Currently, its as what the name dictates, a piercing strike that drives through the enemy in a piercing motion, at the vid, it becomes similarly like tempest and spinning slash, except, you poke or pierce the enemy quickly and then it creates a spiral that does damage over time.
Only way rampage changed was how it worked. You could stop mid way. The first few hits are still based on your auto attacks except now its separated to 4 hits per count, which still totals to your normal auto attack damage. The last 3 hits, are still the same damage compared to a normal Rampage now.

From what it looked liked, trigger/s,step can work with rampage but, rampage for the rest except dw doubles each type of ampr instead of base ampr, and on dw it only doubles base ampr so only another +20 for dw, but thats just what it looked like to me
