The skills were basically dog crap in a bag on fire put on the doorstep of mage mains.
I was expecting big skills since they gave sat to archers, but instead they gave us a dumb cat and a skill with long cast time and difficult setup.
At least they buffed spell burst: b4 cdmg conversion rate was 1/4, but now it's around 3/4, so it's a jump from 12.5% to 37.5% if we use only base cdmg and that's somewhat huge, specially for finale. Tho, the cr conversion rate seems to be still the same: 1/4.
Imperial ray is actually workable tbh but it seems magic swordsmen get more out of this skill than mages?
The cat tho, everytime I watch that skill I begin laughing waaay too hard at it. They actually made the dumb cat even worse xD. Why not just let the thing auto cast lightening every 10 seconds and give passive MP regen?
I was thinking if the advanced famillia would benefit more for pet tamers when it comes to leveling pet skills.
Since random mobs get hit over a large scale area from blizzard and meteor. Actually, this is more for Gentle pets tho. Haven't tested out if its a good method tho
Only good thing that i see so far is you can put familia in the combo now with advanced familia so you dont need to manually cast it anymore. Yeah it cast random spells but it doesnt cost any mp so no complaints.
The only problem is imperial ray. I really have no idea how to use it with my burst mage. It doesnt do that much damage and very hassle to setup. It is always always better just to cast another burst.
Advanced familia in combo is a bug.
Imperial Ray works with magics to allow build up for burst rather than burst itself.
The cast time is too significant to put in a burst spam combo and as such needs it's own combo.
The blast doesn't seem to be affected by combo tag so you can put the skill on save tag.
Damage rate isn't significant enough nor does it provide any ailments for it to be justified in its use for burst mages, at least so far. Seems more for 1k CSPD mages. If you have the CSPD, just spam burst and aim for motion speed instead, GSW.
It's new tho so that can change, just wish the skill did something other than damage for being a lv205 skill.
I think cat got buffed tho, now it has +100% additional magic (at lv10 and I'm not sure) and some flinch resist... So it may affect mages' efficiency (same with my gameplay, atleast.)
I do see some potential in Imperial Ray. It’s much different from other magic skills because it has 100% critical chance with familia active and the critical damage seems to be calculated the same as a physical skill.(?)
If you take advantage of this by using INT > STR stats and customizing your gear to focus on INT/MATK/critical damage, you will see a much higher damage output. While I was testing with improper gear I managed almost 600k once. I’m sure with proper gear it would be higher.
The main issue I see with it is the cast time/slow skill animation...
Maybe, you'll haven't been playing long enough to know how mages work.
Basically, you equip a toilet brush and get cleaning. I hope that clears things up for you new players.
You're fucking right
Casting imperial ray without familiar summoned gives no crit, casting with it gives 100% crit chance, regardless of which magic skill you use, so you can proc it with javelin/impact and inherent their element as well.
The crit itself does nothing without cdmg, because base cdmg for the blast is 100 cdmg instead of 150 for usual physical skills, so you won't notice this without some cdmg (missed it early cause I was going full matk yolo). Its conversion rate for cdmg is 1:1, so 20 cdmg means exactly 20% extra dmg.
So yeah, INT>STR is the way to go for an imperial ray build
@edit: It's also affected by srd/lrd. Spell burst also adds cdmg for this skill.
I use ether flare or element slash to proc imperial ray. Given that I have advantage elemental md sub.
Imperial ray is a huge let down, they should just buff crit rate for mage because without any elemental gears, finale can crit for like 2.3m 1st hit, 800k+ 2nd, 400k+ 3rd, a crit rate buff needs to happen
HOLD UP YOU'RE STILL ALIVE TOO?!
i just came back o3o
Same~ I look forward to partying with you some more <3
I only came back cause base 200 AMPR from friends food. I'm so moist... er not moist I'm so wet now! AHlfksadj;fkla
I dont think images have been properly favoured since around 3rd tiers...
An era storm and snipe ruled..
Brawlers were known as breakers..
2h ..nothing more than players carrying big swords on back without any knowledge bout em..
Katana, hlb n dw didnt exist then ._.)..
Back to topic,
Finale was a favour blessed upon mages, but then..
Humanity was given a grim reminder..
That 'nerf' could break down any wall..
N it did..Finale was nerfed and it was just..never the same again..
Mages got damaging skill yes, but at cost of time ._.)/
that is precious '-')
those 3 seconds we cast finale..a dw, 2h, hlb will perform 3 of their combos ._.) Or the battle is even finished!!
Or mages r sitting ducks in face of attacks -.-; )
Finale takes 3 seconds to hit around 900k+
Burst takes around 3 combos to get 4/8 stks ._.)
If not that, then trade matk in favour of cspd..
I wish that they give something to mages that doesnt really needs a trade off ya know,
Time vs dmg
Matk vs cspd etc
Something that allows mages to be DPS too, not DP3S:'b
I would prefer they would make mages elemental skills casters and combinations that make it stronger. I proposed em when they said wizzard skills to make em like use single target elemental skills to later release same element AOE destructive skills.
For example (using Iruna skills as example)
Use fire lance later cast meteor.
Use ice spear later cast blizzard.
When I saw Imperial ray I thought it could be something like that but seems they didnt get that Imperial Ray :blast should be at least same strong as finale.
Im starting over from scratch. I gave my items to my irl friends when they tried to play toram
