Bad-Furry Tanking

For all you nubs who call yourself a tank and then end up dying last, there is this build. (This included me at one point ;D)
Okie, my build is based around grabbing the boss quickly, then surviving long enough for everyone else to kill it

First off, there is no such thing as a pure dodge tank.... u cannot dodge 100% of the time, meaning u die easily when u rely on dodge (pure agi I mean, there is now a lot more potential for an agi tank what with the fact that vit will be capped soon).
The most important things to focus on are hp, hp regen, mp, and defense.
Provoke plus the natural aggro u get from the armor is more than enough aggro, and u get enough hp from xtals and ur pure vit stats+some skills.

Stats: pure vit is best by far, for now, but eventually, agi for dodge and amp will be a viable option, as will int or ment for mag defense and ailment resist, or even dex for some dmg and accuracy for the amp... pretty much anything except str, unless ur making a 2h tank

Skills: buy lvl2 shield, lvl 2 survival, lvl 1 knight, and lvl 1 magic
maybe guard and priest skills
Not many skills are required for a tank, so u have tons of room for extra skills here.
For a tank u need: to max hard hit, hp and mp boost, put lvl 1 in the mp regen skill, for a lil extra amp, all the shield passives, provoke, and assault attack
and take lvl 10 mp charge. (101 sp total)

That wont use all your skill points, so u can play with the rest... I suggest maxing out the heavy armor mastery and maybe taking miniheal and shield bash, maxing one or both.

Equipment:

Plate armor, dont settle for less than 35 def and slotted with arco xtal (dont be afraid to put money into making this armor, it is the most expensive equip for this build)

Use a slotted boss drop stier, or a slotted high defense hero scarf

Magicians Ring, 6 def+ and slotted, again dont go skimping cuz high def is needed for a tank.

For a shield I use relief shield from dg, but ooze and relic are both good, or the shield from tortuga even, just remember, high defense! ^-^

For a sword, u need a bd sword, slotted boss drop, becuz when u have minotaur xtals u need a good base atk spd for it to boost

U will need 1 arco xtal for sure, to use on the armor, and stone merc xtal is a lil smexy to go with tha ring, cuz of guard rate boost and aggro boost, but atm the minotaur xtal is the only other good xtal for tank, because of the atk spd and hp boost.... u will be tempted to get king potum xtals, cuz 10% hp over 5% looks tasty..... but 1 extra hit from roga and that extra hp is gone, and then ur just dealing with a 5% defense and mag defense loss

 

Finally another tank which makes sense.... ;-; I have waited for this moment

 

Tanks aren't life insurance. We guard as much as we can,reposition the boss,and even soak up aoes sometimes.Just because some guy wanted to come close to fire a hit and gets KO'd doesn't mean the tank failed.So yes,everybody needs a level of "sense".

 

lmfao no such thing as an agi tank do you want to bet? call me a noob as much as u want I'll gladly prove this thread incorrect

 

there is such a thing as an AGI tank, all you need is fill in your AGI til it hits 1500 aspd then put the rest of the stats on VIT whilst maxing out your HP Boost to level 10. brawlers are meant for tanking and what's awesome about that is that, you don't really need to necessarily sacrifice your ATK for the VIT. If you stick to maxing out your ASPD til 1500 and beef up your VIT+HP boost, i can guarantee you will be able to get 5K ish HP without having crappy ATK. and if you know brawlers aka monks, they have always been made for tanking.

edit : if you add shield skills, it adds around 500 hp i believe? and it comes w stuns which is necessary for boss control.

aacutely since my flee was at 450 with 4.2k HP I can now do pure vit* ^^ I don't want a war but I'll gladly share the blood all I'm gonna say is dnt rule a brawler out as I've seen many 12k HP tanks fall at great knight due to he can hit 8k+ time will tell

Lemme just let u know, my actual point was that a dodge/agi tank is useless, because of the fact that dodge eventually caps out, same as atk spd, wheras there is no cap HP or defense, and if u wanna play a brawler that is fine with me, but this build is for people who wanna play a build for a class that asobimo doesnt hate XD

 

ol that's fair enough I just disliked the start of the thread aiming agi tanks are nuub like that's all^^

 

tank aka paladin= description high survival class aimed at tanking BUT can cause DMG via skills concentrating holy or blessed skills through divine justice ( egssmple tanks in iruna with vit dex int can hit 100k+) and (ago tanks with high HP and breaker skills to subdue aoes)

 

that's a paladin, a subclass of tank.

 

pure vit caps BTW say 265 skill points OK pure tank will have good def I won't argue but then what? mdef ofc and then? oh dex for atck oh shirt what's that build called - a fckin palladin...

 

look at the bigger picture it helps sorry for swearing but its true

 

why don't we focus on the present,and leave the bug picture to asobimo.

 

but u forget there's an ailment protect skill all classes can use removes ailments( even brawlers) so that's shot down and secondly when you have let's say 100k hp and mines 50k being realistic and those crits smack a pure vit for 40% of its HP and misses shiet outa me then what?

 

which is why,my dear fox,we have a D-PAD.

 

so if a crit aoe like oozes is multiplied by a 10ft radius the size of dark gates I hope your d-pad is fast as hell lol imagaine healing mid process - pure vit insta death xD
