ok so i dont check Toram's official site very often but i just did and i saw that in july they really cracked down on all the people going against the terms of use and 10s of thousands of people were banned! they say they got rid of thousands of BOT's but there are still so many. but has anyone really noticed the change?

I never really see bots (other than trading places like Soyfa). So yeh. Where else is an issue.

I think that was the end of the rampant moddings after a few months.

Not sure, I haven't really been farming lately to see any afk farmers or modders from event bosses. (those are the types of cheaters I mainly come across) Can't really tell unless you party or interact with them tbh but those numbers are good enough for me! I'm glad toram is cleaning them out :D

Bots and RMTs were still pretty obvious when i actively played so thats not surprising. Hardly ever ran into mod users, or at least ones stupid enough to party with randoms.

Check out Einklang and the farming spot for energy bottle at international server. They are still good.

the modded bots at Cursed Clock disappeared, but the spina bots at Einklang and Garden of Beginning are still here.
the problem is that they are just standing there. if they are not caught red-handed, they can't be banned.

as for the spina sellers, they just make new accounts every day.

"ASOBIMO may abort, terminate, or modify the Members' use of the Service at anytime without notice when the following is applied to Members..."
"ASOBIMO does not guarantee a permanent or unlimited access to data and information (including virtual currency and items) serviced within the Application."
According to the terms of use, Asobimo can ban whoever and whenever they want, even for no reason. They do have a Death Note. I don't understand why they don't have a few employees scouting Toram and see the botting spots (GOB, Einklang, etc) and simply ban them immediately as they see them. They could easily remove the vast majority of the bots in a very short amount of time. (If I were them) could go there now, look at the 40+ chs, check out who is an auto farmer and who is just a common dude passing by, and instant ban all the bots in minutes. And if they are doing that, they aren't doing a good enough job... They could also add some kind of captcha/human verification that appears if the system suspects that your actions are suspiciously repetitive. Same with RMT. They just need one person in each server (or one person who keeps switching servers) sitting in Sofya that's instant banning anyone that is trying to sell spina...

I thought they did something like this in the past? I did remember hearing stories about P. Ava appearing in rakau inter 1 to ban the 'add me' bots. It clearly didn't work and they removed orb shard emblems now.

    P. Avatar is my friend and he's just a regular JP guy who is dressed up as P. Avatar with that name.. First of all if they're going to do it then why would they be that obvious. It can work, it's the same strategy as how moderators (real people) ban people in group chats/servers. It is effective and fast. Find bot spots, and insta-ban the bots/spammers. There are only so many bots and you can ban faster than they can make bots (think of how long it takes to create a bunch of accounts versus how fast it'll be to just insta-ban a bunch of them as you see them) It'll never be perfect but having a human moderator that knows what they are doing can be incredibly effective.

But if this mass banning took place, there would be many people reporting false positive as well, because amidst those bots some legit player might be there to farm some legit items. This kind of report would ruin the game's name moreso than letting the bot ran. What they need to implement is something like sell limit on npc. Something like you can't sell more than 3stk of the same item a day to npc or something like the spina given would decrease for every stack sold, both would prevent the bots from generating spina out of nowhere. And we knew that many people would either proc something or sell things on cb anyway.

Nope that can happen anyways regardless. And I said a moderator from Toram, which eliminates the possibility of "people reporting.." I think you misunderstand my comment. There is no reporting involved in the method that I said... I'm saying a literal moderator on Toram team going away and CHECKING the spots and verifying who's a common passerby and who is a bot..

the whole "can only sell 3 stacks" is way worse. It hurts EVERYONE and not just a couple accidentals. That regulation is ridiculous. What if I want to farm some bnuts and have extra woodchips that I just want to sell? Putting it all on the board is tedious and maybe my wood is full/I don't have any use for wood. And for new newbies, selling to NPC is decent spina.

... I wasn't really clear was I? I mean people reporting the ban they get as a false positive, as in they got banned for being a bot even though they're not. Which made me think, if you are a moderator tasked with banning bots, how would you identify whether a player is a bot or just a passerby?

What I mean by stk limiter is that you can still sell it, but you won't get the spina past a certain amount of stack per day. I just thought it would encourage more player interactions or off board trade. Or you can just keep your items and sell it the next day.

Realistically they only managed to ban like 10% of all the hackers and bots and even each script abuser is able to create many more account to start over again.
Its a bullshit victory for aso trust me.
You can probably blame the Indonesians for this tho, the game will never be cancer free now
