Greetings fellow mages i have decided to make this guide for those who want to excel in both solo and party as Bishop Mages and want to reduce dying to a minimum, mainstream dps finale and burst excel in their own roles but are often squishy, so we will go over on how to make a hardy Bishop Mage that can solo and do well in party as a dps healer and survivalist 3 in 1 bishop mage

Stats are Int maxed, 100 crit personal stats((for 130 crit rate with equipment and meikyou shisui skill to ensure shield cannon is guaranteed hit even on crit resist bosses)) rest to vit then in the future after vit is max add dex too

    Equipments are

Any high atk player crafted staff refined +S with int+22 int+10% matk+11% and cspd+20% critical rate+22 as its stats which a 5th anniv vii staff often has and make sure it at least has armasite as the xtal for magic pierce, if have 2nd slot add finstern dark dragon xtal for guard break and matk

harmony shield npc version refined +S

Lil Empress garb npc version refined +S Light Remodeled Mom Fluck

Bubble Hat refined +S Yashiro Azuki's Mom

    Dark talisman Seele Zauga

Land Food buffs : beef burger level 10, fish burger level 10

    Skills:

    magic skills

    impact 7
    Storm 10
Finale 10 ((use swift tag, or else you will be too reliant on merc or tank pet))
    Mp recharge 10
    Maximizer 10

    Shield skills

    Shield cannon 10
    Protection 10
    Aegis 10
    Magical shield 10
    Physical shield 10
    Guardian 10

    Survival skills

    Hp boost 10

    Mp boost 10

    Priest skills

Holy light 5-10 ((can deal decently high damage and can be used on bosses that are highly mobile))
    Ether barrier 10
    Enchanced bless 10
    Prayer 10

    Support skills

    First aid 10
    Heal 10

    Recovery 10

    Guard skills

    Light armor mastery 5

    Mirage evasion 10

    Knight skills

    P Def 1

    Assassin skills

    Back step 1

    Mononofu skills

    Shukuchi 1

    Meikyou Shisui 10

Battle skills((if you have skill points left over)):

    Magic up 10

    Spellburst 10

    Concentate 10

    Increased energy 10

Key explanations on how to use Bishop Mage:

    1. with the given equipments and land buffs you will have 120% magical and Physical resistance if you use aegis and Protection, resistance is calculated by each 50% so at the 100% mark you supposedly had 75% resistance but you can keep adding resistance and the extra 20% resistance within the 120% resistance that you would get from the given equipments makes you reach 95% resistance which is the true cap on resistance without needing any ginkgo nut rice((which is a food that is limited to events and are unnecessary spina drainers if you buy them from cosign board)) and still have high matk, and in party situations where there is already a tank you could swap out the lil empress garb for a player statted 2s armor with the same stats as the rod with iron empress and Noeliel the ice statue as the xtals, the +S refinements on all equipments and the fractional barrier xtals and equipment will give you 70% fractional damage resistance so even with high hp fractional damage won't hurt you much in the case you get caught off guard with fractional attacks, the +S refinements will reduce further universal damage by 45%, so for example with 120% resistance in total which is 95% capped resistance a 500,000 damage to you become 25,000 and the 45% damage reduction from all +S refinements further reduces that 25,000 to become 13,750 damage which is very survivable with 30,000+ hp and beyond

    2. Use holy light as your main damage skill in boss situations where finale won't work well even with mirage evasion

3.Use impact Finale swift combo whenever feasible with mirage evasion for red and blue zones that are not whole map, swift is to cut out most of the unwieldy movement animation of finale without using gsw which contradicts the survival that Bishop mages need

    4. In such situations where blue and red zone attacks are unavoidable and if your mirage evasion is on cooldown use p def

    5. You can minimize fractional damage using Guardian skill along with +S refinement

    6. Use shukuchi to chase mobile enemies

    7. if you get an ailment use recovery skill to remove it

    8. You can use Meikyou Shisui then shield cannon bloodsucker mp recharge swift maximizer swift in a combo

    9. in moments you cannot use normal evasion but you need to conserve mirage evasion use backstep instead

I hope this guide helps all those who intend to become Bishop mages too!!

I am glad that you found the Bishop mage guide helpful, and yep i wanted to offer a whole new path for mages like ourselves that do not have terrible downsides like being squishy, and so i came up with the idea of taking the survival aspect of a tank minus the aggro of the tank and also take the survival aspect of mirage evasion and evasion in general and the sustain aspect of the support priest and combine all of them together with the power of mage creating a whole new mage altogether thus the Bishop mage is born you see ^^

For a while, this build went through my mind.
For me, it would be nicer to not just focus on resist/hp, maybe better having some aspd or motion speed and counter buffs or m.pierce/crit/etc. This is because I think even when you survived boss' attacks, you will not survive the disappoinment of having no rank rewards or less party contributions in short battles or minibosses. BTW, I don't recommend that maxed out holy light, lv5 has decent damage for staff mains (I tried that with dte & 100m.pierce & 6k matk, not satisfactory).

Also why ether barrier is maxed tho?
I understand Ether can prevent magic flinch, but will it be enough time to cover up finale as its not affected by CSPD?

I think there's enough time for Ether Barrier>Finale(Swift), but costs 1900MP (1800 if last combo has Impact as ender). Also, it is purely situational so I recommend maxing it out only if there's extra SP.

the duration of Ether Barrier is 5 seconds on all skill levels. the charge time also remains the same (can be shortened by cspd).
skill level only reduces the matk penalty from 50% to 5%.

Yes and that is why i said in situations where there is already a tank you can switch to dps set, but in cases where survival is an absolute must then the cap resistance set with dps staff is recommended, and yes 5 level in holy light is fine if need to free up some sp ^^

my phone isn't powerful enough to do internal recording an outdated non s samsung model, hopefully someone with a powerful phone who happens to follow the guide could do the honors, but in the mean time i try to be as descriptive as possible in the guide on how to use the bishop mage, and as for damages of shield cannon and holy light, with good proration shield cannon can do around 330k to 455k if the boss is not ailment resistant at that time, and holy light can do around 170k to 237kish damage, hope that answers your question
