Bow+Arrow and Bowgun+Arrow, same skills?

    If I make a bow and arrow character, are the standard skills used so similar that I can just switch out for a bowgun when I feel like it? Or would Bowgun require a different skill build?

    If u play the same way with blowgun as bow then yes same set up, however most just stick to bow if they are mainly using shot skills as dps, since it’s solid and you get better ailment chances, on the other hand blowgun is more diverse because it can support a wide range of sub weapons

    similar in builds. just bowgun crit less and there's a few other differences but stat dis can be the same if you wanted it to be. skill dis may differ slightly

    The builds are extremely similar, however bowgun you'll want long range level 10 and be using more of snipe for a damage dealing skill, as well as compensating 25 extra crate

    Yes you can, but there isn‘t really a reason to play bowgun+arrow over bow+arrow. The only reason to use a bowgun would be to use a different subweapon. For instance to get pdef from the knight tree, or to use resonance/maximizer for MP regenration, or to use Chariot/Gatling as additional dps skill.

    Aside from Cross Fire and Satellite Arrow there's really no point taking Snipe if you use Bowgun. Bow gets bonus on ailment so Snipe always do Armor Break. Bowgun gets penalty on ailments plus penalty on Snipe crit rate.
