Bowtana/Bow Guide

With the nerf to soul hunter i decided to make a convertible bowtana bow guide along with a combo to instant 50% motion speed to make the animation time of soul hunter super speedy which is fast enough to be useful as God Speed Wield alone is not enough, and this guide will also teach how to reach near 200 crit rate to handle even super crit resistant bosses so enough intro here's the guide!!

Warning: not budget friendly

Max DEX/ 247 STR ((after 550+ DEX or whatever the stat cap is in the future go for 550+STR too))

Equipment:
6th Anniv Bow atk 230+ to 245+
With a11 fc23 as stats and refined +S
With crysta Megiston the Champion((maximally upgraded))/ 2nd crysta is Hexter if you can afford prime

Sub Weapon is convertible between Katana/and all Arrows of all elements

2s Light Remodeled Adventure Garb with stats A9 FC23 or 2s Light Remodeled Anniv Festive Garb II with stats A11 FC23((if you can afford it))
Refined +B with crystas Arachnidemon and Demonic Quasar

2s Shaved Ice Hat refined+B((if possible try to get from diving event gacha, or go ahead and buy it if you can afford it))
with crystas Stellar Ooze and Alfenix

Machina Ring 2s or Time Warp Watch 2s((if you can afford it))
with crystas Volgagon and Seele Zauga

All of the equipments plus level 10 Meikyou Shisui should allow you to reach 191 crit rate with pure bow or 200 crit rate if bowtana which will help against super crit resistant bosses, and 10% physical pierce for Non-Satelllite Arrow skills which can be further increased by avatars and food buffs, while satellite arrow can be used if in situations where 100% physical pierce is absolutely necessary such as ultimate bosses

And here are the combos and combat strategies:

Always Remain In God Speed Wield Mode At All Times, It Is Absolutely Necessary For God Speed Wield To Remain Active At All Times To Be Effective and Efficient As An Archer In Order To Use I-Frames Effectively To Any Useful Degree, Besides Even If You Die There Is Always Retreat Button, Use That To Continually Practice Your I-Frames And Timing With God Speed Wield To Perfection


Conserve evade as much as possible and use backstep only for colored zone boss attacks otherwise only evasion and maintaining distance and i-frames can work against non-zone attacks, maintain distance as much as possible and always read boss's movement even without colored zones to best react, and always use Crossfire at 3/5 or higher charges

Use Zantei Settetsu if playing bowtana as a Soul Hunter Alternative for invincibility and protecting Crossfire charges

For invincibility for pure arrow bow via soul hunter always use this combo which can also be used by Bowtana God Speed Wield-Soul Hunter swifted-Finale Smited

Always Have Zone Graphics at HQ to have more reaction time to readily have enough time to react and evade or use i-frames such as Zantei Settetsu and Swifted GSW Soul Hunter to survive against blue and red zone attacks, and to avoid aoe sharks use Triple Thrust in such situations

Crossfire Combo is Meikyou Shisui-Crossfire smited-Finale smited

Snipe Combo is Ad lib-Snipe smited or mind's eyed-Finale smited

Decoy Combo at high mp is Moeba Shot -Decoy swifted or mind's eyed-Finale smited

Reflex-Satellite Arrow smited or mind's eyed-Finale smited

as for 3 second invincibility do this with God Speed Wield, Use Tenryuu Ransei first then use Magadachi within the time limit for Tenryuu Ransei Zannou which gives longer I-Frames

Actually the best combo for soul hunter invincibility is God Speed Wield-Soul Hunter swifted-Finale smited. I have just updated that combo into the guide and it will be absolutely recommended that all archers must absolutely always remain in God Speed Wield at all times, especially since retreat from bosses already allow you more than enough time to master the boss patterns completely to be in God Speed Wield mode at all times safely XD

 

1. if the sub is a katana the 2 hand bonus still applies as though the bow was the katana and the sub was empty


2. High ampr, especially with the help of registlet burning spirit and kairiki ranshin will allow you to recover mp extremely quickly, allowing you to gsw soul hunter cost effectively, and because swift in combo allows for fastest motion time the motion time is instant and still give you that 1 second invincibility and allows you to react in time to evade or backstep if boss throws another attack at you or is closing the distance to attack you


3. Yes tenryuu especially when followed by magadachi will become zannou and deal similarly high damage and with gsw still active it can be executed very quickly


4.arrow build is best in party and bowtana is best for solo play


5. Yes namely reflex level 10 and moeba shot 1 respectively are good stargems


6. The same answer as how i answered number 2


7.zantei parries the hit and in my experience it protects cf charges buildup because the zantei buff is the buff consumed upon damage nullification, not sure about other buffs that disappear on hit though


8. Yes saving decoy works too, swift is just to ensure there is no renmants of motion time allowing more mobility and safety


9. Yes these builds do extremely well in both party and solo play, and pets with devoted and magic help alot


And as for the bonus questions.

1. You could just backstep if no colored zones or use the swifted soul hunter combo

2. Prioritize safety when dealing with anti melee anti range bosses, use pet tank to make boss focus on pet tank and use pet heal as much as needed


3. lots of AMPR and Physical Pierce and flat crit damage are all you need in avatars and food buffs, any other stats are irrelevant or not as important for bow and bowtana

 

You made me run straight into the game to test it after reading that lol.
Turns out, it doesn't. Tested on my bowtana with 97% stability and lv5 Two-handed. Damage still fluctuate.
