Burst Mage 1s Build Share

I want to share my Burst Mage build with your guys since there aren't a lot of references out there for Burst Mages. I believe it isnt a Copy-Paste build like other classes since there are countless of ways you can reach the required CSPD and stack up Matk as required. However there arent a lot of Burst Mages around cause it's very expensive and can be relatively weak but you can make it work.

It's just that It is more achievable with 1s Gears nowadays and Mages getting tired of Finale so they moving to Burst.

My build is a little expensive with some budget cuts here and there because I am broke too
But here it is so you have an Idea.

My build focuses on Instacast burst and spamming that. I have Crit Rate on gears since I wanted to prorate for Soloing, but that isnt necessary anymore with Minds Eye on Dagger. I can still use the CR for Norm Attack Proration and Magic Crit. In depth information later.

[People will try to do INT>DEX like 315:247 or 300:262 as much as possible since Burst is weak, you need the Matk you can get. Also important is to Achieve 7.75k CSPD and minimizing Matk Loss as much as possible. ]
[I have my reasons however why my stats are like this. It has to do with the Consumables. With my equip and stats I can achieve the required CSPD with only Spell Headphones, without needing Bitter Gelatin. I'll explain this later.]

Equipment:
Weapon 5th Anniv Staff +B 335+Atk Ele, DTE20, M10, CSPD20, CR20 w/ Finstern the Dark Dragon (I needed more MP after changing ring xtal. CSPD I had to compensate using Ava Stat)
Subweapon Element SubMD (Magic Warrior Mastery Lvl10 gives some passive Matk boost and +15% CSPD)
Armor Bark Mail DTE20, M10, CR20 w/ Super Death Mushroom (I wanted to use Iron Empress but I'll have MP problem. When I get the money I'll use Demonic Quasar)

CSPD20 instead of CR20 if you dont need CRate. You'll need less DEX and can put more INT​

Add Gear Mage Cape NPC+1000CSPD w/ Underwater Ruins Monster (With my Equip and Stats, Spell Headphone and High Cycle enough to reach desired CSPD)

w/ Chocolate Ooze II (With my Equip and Stats, High Cycle enough to reach 7.65k CSPD. Once I get DQ it will be 7.75k)
(This is the more recommended xtal on add gear to Pursue since it's cheap and has a lot of CSPD.)
(I like this because everytime you die, you lose all buffs. Consumables are wasted when you do. And you'll die often when practicing. This can allow me to practice instant burst without having to worry about wasting buffs.)​

Special Rosetta Stone w/ Gravicep (Gives some SRD which will increase your damage)

GSW Lvl10 (Burst Mage benefits a lot from high MSPD)

Long Range Lvl10 (Shot Skills, this passive applies to Burst. Anyrange you cast it's applied.)

Shukuchi Lvl1 (Chasing Boss. Burst Shorter Range so you need this more)
Mirage Eva Lvl1 (Lvl1 enough since you dont stand still like Finale)

Magic Warrior Mastery Lvl10 (+15% CSPD and some Matk)
Resonance Lvl1 (Just for the MP regen)

Brave Aura Lvl10 (Of Course)
High Cycle Lvl10 (+250% CSPD +550) Very important

Adlib (Combo Opener)
Reflex (Combo Opener, SG if possible)
Fairy Dance (Combo Opener)

Elegant Poise Lvl1 (Life Saver)

Optionals:
Familia Lvl10 (Can do without if you have enough MP)
Element Slash (Get only if you invested in CRate and want to do SpellBurst+Weaken) (Requires Element MD) (Sure to hit using Minds Eye Combo Tag)
Spell Burst (Get only if you invested in CRate and want to do SpellBurst+Weaken)
Prayer Lvl10 (The Matk boost is really good so why not)
Backstep Lvl1 (It's good for Evading AOEs)
Play Dead Lvl10 (U Glassy, you might want this)
First Aid Lvl10 (U a mage. This your Job in pt if you want it)
Recovery Lvl1 (Cuz screw ailments they annoying)
Heal Lvl 10 (High CSPD good with this. The range is good too. Only tank usually appreciates this.)

Consumables

Burst Mage is not only pretty expensive to build, it can be exensive to Use (I call it Operational Expenses) because of the amount of Consumables needed.​

Spell Headphones (700CSPD)
Sorcerer's Nostrum (5% Matk +50) or Magic Barrier blablabla (3% Matk +10% MPierce)
Magiadd 3 (+300MP. I use it to cover GSW)
DTE Cakes
Black Gelatin (Friend told me it gives +10CR)

That's probably not a lot because I tried to minimize my need for it as much as possible​

Bitter Gelatin (+800 CSPD -4% Matk) (I really optimized my build so I dont need this anymore. This stacks up with Spell Headphones so It is good to add more CSPD)

(This however is a Purple Staff Icon, same as Matk icon. Which means not only do you lose 4% Matk, you also lose the Matk you can get from an Matk Potion)​

Sauteed Lonogo Shrimp (+250 MP +250 CSPD) (Kinda expensive to I really avoided this. Doesnt stack with Magiadd.)

Anniv Festive Dagger II (+200CSPD Tumble Unavailable)
Holy Knife (2% Matk Tumble Unavailable)

Skills:
Throw Knife Lvl10
Spike Dart Lvl1
Poison Dagger Lvl1
Shadowwalk Lvl10 (from Assasin Skills. at 10 Stacks it can give your Evasion an iframe if you timed it properly. Does not work if you have Aggro)
(It charges if you Eva <12m away from Boss. Additional Attack only triggers when in Weapon Attack range.)

It requires less SP compared to SubMD
Not to mention you can prorate using only Minds Eye Combo Tag. So no need Crit

 

Nice guide.
Achieving such high cspd with only 1s equip is very good.
You can do better if u have some support pet with clear mind skill.
The skill will increase a few hundred cspd and some matk which is important for your character.

Tho Id prefer to not rely on it as well since yknow Pets die pretty often in Battle
I feel bad for my pet cuz I keep forgetting I have one Hahahahah

But yes the boost it gives is really good. It's like having a free Matk Potion around

Idk if I had it saved.

It's 100% SR on 89pot staff, I just reduced CR a bit to fit in the pot of my staffs.

If i remember correctly, Add all negatives on first step
All the positive stats on the second

 

probably has higher success rate now that hp 21, mp 11 and dodge is increased by 1 with the current cap making more pots for negatives.
