Clearing Cache?

so ik when you first open the app u can reacquire data and clear cache, what does this do exactly? My friend has a phone with 16GB, and can no longer update the game bc he has no space left. Ig he has an android and there's apps he can't delete bc there required by the phone. His game takes up 1.68GB so idk how much space he really needs to clear up. He trid deleting browser history to clear up memory, clearing cache from other apps he uses and still no luck. After updating mine it takes up 1.82GB but ik this isn't the same for everyone. I was gonna suggest he clears game cache and hope it would make the game smaller? But idk what clearing cache exactly does and I don't want to suggest it if it will make him lose his characters or process, he does have an account. So what does clearing cache do exactly? Will it even make the game smaller?

 

Someone should correct here if im wrong, i havent used this function yet, but clearing cache, whether through game or in app manager usually only removes input data and login information (no, it doesnt delete account, just removes account, so you have to input information again) this is usually small ranging from 5kb up to about 24mb (maybe a bit bigger) the real meat and potatoes lies in your data. Deleting this can free up to about 2gb. But personally, its not worth it. This will quickly build up again as you play, and you will experience some delay as you enter maps as everything has to be downloaded again. As mentioned, im not sure about cache part @.@?

 

the cache contains personal settings and map data.
after clearing it, you have to download map data again for every map you visit, and you also have to reassign all your graphic/sound settings and shortcuts.

it does not make the game smaller, it just fixes bugs and oddities caused by corrupted data. (like the reload page button in your web browser)

transferring unnecessary photos, videos and music to another device/storage will save a lot of space.
(especially videos)
