Trough all these years playing toram, I saw the methods of getting stronger, leveling up, getting spina, changing a lot.
I got my level 150 last year or something, It took me time because I was lazy and NC farming is a pain in the ass.
After the EXP for bosses and mini bosses got buffed (The end of Nightmare Crystal slavery xd) I finally got the tier 4 skills.

How is it now for you? not only EXP, but progressing in general. Is it better, harder, faster perhaps?
I really would like to know :3

I may not be a newbie but before my first ever 150 character it took me a lot of time killing odelon machina since all I had was snipe as a DPS skill and I had no Crossfire and AMPR at all because decoy is unlocked at 150 also. Past the hurdle leveling isnt much of a pain since the Main quest gives you at least level 144

I started a few months ago and I'm only level 90 . . . probably cuz I waste a lot of time outside of leveling, but I keep hearing about ppl reaching the level cap in a few days/weeks, and I just can't understand how T.T

Main quest helps you to reach 144+ lvls. Find a high lvl friend or guildies mercenary and it kills bosses mostly or try shouting at bosses
And joining parties in odelon or venena is good way to lvl up. You can lvl up fast there like 2 lvls in an hour.

Everything become pain in ass around lvl 170+
Miniboss yield 0,1% and spam cancerous atk
Bosses are available only on ulti diff (Thankfully they buffed Exp range, so its only Venena till 200)

Generally for now. I haven't even finish mq yet. Still at flare volg. And im already lvl 60. Im a returner so for me nowadays it is easier to lvlup compare to the older days. Noted i started playing again 3 days ago for a few hours and i i also have my friend playing with me. So for me. It is much easier than the old days

Defo easier than it used to be, but..... it's still a grind, especially past lvl 100.... (without MQ) Progressing feels harder though because the bosses that I can comfortably fight drop outdated loot, while for the bosses that drop the good stuff, I can't find a party because I'm not min-maxed and I don't have all my core skills unlocked.

Just to share my experience when I was completely newbie and by that time the cap is around 175 or so I think, leveling is crazy hard after doing MQ since I stopped around 128 and my first character was a mage. During that time, if you are a mage without Finale, you will get kicked a lot from parties so what I did is to learn some support skills as Blazing Garben always deal ignite (that time, Salamander is optimal way of leveling in my level range) and shield skills for interrupt. Eventually, I reached 150 with the help of some guild mates and unlocked Finale. Learning how to use and not to use Finale in certain conditions posed a problem for me. I believe leveling is way easier now compared before.

Compared to 4-5 years ago, yes it is definitely way better.

Level 70 can be achieved in a couple of days back then via Bnuts & Nwoods.

Now, level 70 is achievable in 20-30mins with just grinding exp.

Level 150 is gonna be a long journey. With addition of ±4 exp that became a little bit better but still tough. Good thing they turned it into ±9. Without the exp boost, people are stuck with three options:
    •Main quest
    •Side Quests
    •Adventurer's Diary

Putting myself into a perspective of a newbie, the ones who will struggle a lot are mages. Bow & bowgun users got a cheap crit guaranteed Fatal Shot, Crusher skill for knucks and Halb gets their buster lance which are fairly strong despite being cheap MP wise. Although with exp boost, being newbie means almost no friends in game which is equivalent to having no good mercs either. Let's be honest here tho. We old veterans did stuff back then without mercs and managed to pull through without trouble. It's just that new players are edgy kids trying to be more edgy than the last.

Also, either too many tanks looking for party or too many dps and having little to no people at all in some areas.

I started last december and i can say its kinda quick. My first week, i got stuck at 143. Took me another 1week to get 150 since my skill is only storm and they keep on kicking me at cerberus haha. After that someone mentioned coryn and this forum,. Got guides and finally i went at mini bosses.

Summary: 4days main quest, 3days ranting and searching at google/yt on lvling guides, bout 5days at odelon and super death mushroom, then about 1 week at venena all the way to 200.

Its like a whole month getting 200 on my initial days

As DW player, I just wanted to reach 170 for SC. To do that, I used luk HB char to unlock tier 3 skills before try Venena (my first raid) where I reached 170.
With HB (non-mq): niesel wood/bitter nut, ancient tomb bones, metal stinger quest, free from infesters quest and bubbles till lvl 151. After that, did same thing with DW (didnt know about easy lvl thing) and concluded MQ at lvl 179 before Venena's 200.

How are veterans less edgy..? How are newbies edgy at all? That came out of nowhere and I don't get it.

Yup, too many tanks on Low levels, me trying to lvlup a 1h included, and on 180+ too many Dps and rarely a tank.

That's nice to hear, It took me sooooo loooong to reach 150 and 170 before, imagine lvling up on mini bosses that drop 2% exp only after 2-3 minutes killing them.
That's what you can call Iron will, or stubbornness xD

And Coryn club can be extremely useful. pretty much anything you need is there.

Firstly, MQ has made things a lot easier then back long ago. Ifrid became less popular after the huge main quest rewards which take you to level 144, from there you can do Venena till lv150 to get lv 4 skills. And that's all I did, im still at lvl155 though. And after doing MQ 20 times, I've learned to hate Naiata for calling me to the cave 4 times.

It was way more difficult before. I remember grinding Flare Volg for hours just to make it to 60. It's so much easier now, that I even used to constantly create and delete characters because of crap build. Now, level up till around 70, MS quest, then do Knights & Fighters till 100, then quests from chp1 till 150.
