(Before we begin, what is DeQuantum's Random Talk Corner? It'll be something I do from time to time, where I'll discuss certain topics and give my perspective, whilst blabbering about random nonsense and talking about myself. Now why am I doing this? It is out of boredom and is for people to try and know me a bit better, since I seem to be rather a mystery to some people. So without further ado, let's dive into this Hell hole of my creation!)

To start off, I'll be talking about Metal music. Why? Well, Metal is pretty much my roots in music and helped me during a difficult time in my life, and it is one of the under-appreciated styles of music and art when compared to Pop, EDM, Rap, Etc. A lot of people take it to be "barbaric" or "devil's music," when honestly, it's not and it's so much more than any of that.

First off, how did I get into Metal? Well, Metal kind of goes back to my childhood days. It usually took place when I was around my father, who was a die hard Death Metal fan. He'd always crank up the stereo or radio whenever I went on rides with him through the countryside. When my early teens came by, my father was in prison for a while and I was living with my grandparents, since nobody was staying at his house. One day, I took my bike and pedaled my way a few blocks down to my father's house and started digging through old stuff in some of the drawers and closets. (I'll admit, there was some stuff I wish I didn't discover...) While digging up, I found two DVDs. One DVD was a official recording of a live Slayer (One of the Big Four of Thrash Metal) concert in 2001 or 2002. The other was a Staind music video collection from 1999-2006. Both are what got me hooked into Metal, but the Staind DVD had a cover of a song called "Sober," from a band called Tool, which I'd later look up and become hooked to that band. Another way I got into Metal, was through an iPod my Uncle lent me. There were 10 songs by Korn downloaded onto it and I'd be jamming out to them at night with ear buds on. (I got caught one time and that resulted in having that iPod taken away from me for the night, which honestly bummed me).

What are my favorite bands, albums, and genres?
When it comes to the bands, my primary favorites are:

    Circle of Dust
    Slipknot
    Korn
    Motionless in White
    Tool
    Avatar

    As for albums:

[Most Favorite] Machines of Our Disgrace by Circle of Dust
All Hope is Gone by Slipknot
    Issues by Korn
Wrong Side of Heaven (and the Righteous Side of Hell) by Five Finger Death Punch
    Lateralus by Tool
The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
    Hail the Apocalypse by Avatar

(I honestly have no preference when it comes to music; as long as it appeals to my earholes, I'm fine with it.) When it comes to Metal, there are A LOT... of genres to choose from. You've got Death, Thrash, Doom, Grunge, Alternative, Nu, Metalcore, Deathcore, Black, and the list goes on. My most favorite style out of all of them would have to be Industrial Metal, which is basically a mechanized, robotic style of Metal, which is part of the reason why I act robotic most of the time. The following spoiler will contain a few videos of Industrial Metal, just to get the idea out.

    Creepy

    Soft & Emotional

    90's Style

Have I been to concerts? Just one, which was back in late 2014. My father took me and his girlfriend to see Slipknot and Korn live, which was an awesome and breathtaking act to watch. There were some people crowd surfing among the audience and there was a mosh pit going on and there was one point where I saw a guy get slammed onto the ground by another guy. (It was honestly a [CENSORED] move to make, unless the guy that got slammed was punching or harassing people. Metalhead moshpits are supposed to be for fun and thrashing about, not fighting.) That's when I began dreaming of being in a mosh pit. I also left with a Slipknot shirt from that concert, which I still have.

Have I encountered any issues regarding myself as a metalhead? Definitely. Most definitely. A few weeks ago, I got into a... little argument with my high school English teacher regarding metal. I came out and admitted that I was an atheist, then she blamed the music I listened to, regarding to it as "devil's music," which I'll admit, that got me all fumed up and I got into a formal argument about it. It was just last week, I submitted a Weekly Writing to her, where I called her out in a way and pointed out facts about metal. I never felt so happy to have turned in school work.

With that all being said, I am done. Have a good day! //_^/)

I listen to various forms of music but enjoy all forms of rock which includes metal more than most other music usually which includes Slipknot, Tool, Korn, Five Finger Death Punch, and Nine Inch Nails for bands you named. Also your teacher isn't very smart since Thousand Foot Krutch is a Nu Metal band as well as referred to as a Christian Rock band at the same time plus there's many other bands besides TFK that are considered both Metal and Christian at the same time ^.^

How did I get into Metal: Listening my neighbor playing "Hallowed be thy Name" track by Iron Maiden, that was awesome!

For metal bands, I like thrash/ heavy metal bands the most (such as Metallica or Megadeth).

Other Metal bands I'm listening to: Avenged Sevenfold, Lamb of God, Slipknot, Six, Dragon Force

My favorite Bands mostly are Japanese Rock, Japanese Symphonic Metal and Visual Kei
